Get on that. It really is a superb film. Damn near perfect.

In any case, I'll say this much.

The visuals in the trailer are pretty damn good, even though there were plenty of scenes that were clearly shot-by-shot from the original. The actors look great, though, which is a great relief. I still wish Chloe had black hair. Blonde vampires always look off to me.

Not bad but i'll most likely rent it since I love the original and shouldn't spend money on a remake in the theatre.

The kid playing Oskar has the same dumb looking face, and the girl playing Eli was awesome in Kick Ass and 500 Days of summer, so I don't care if its not cool to like remakes, I'm excited.

I noticed the same thing about the boy, he has a very similar look to the original actor.

I do want to see this eventually but just from the trailer this remake looks to be a great example to show people the differences between foreign and American filmmaking. The original had this almost calm and subtle feel and vibe to it while the remake seems to be a tad bit louder if that makes sense.

I've never read the book and I didn't notice any difference in gore or violence from just the trailer in comparison to the original. I had meant that American films are louder and more in your face(which is what a lot of general audiences in American tend to like or want.)then most foreign films that use subtley and try to be smarter by not relying on loud noises and whatnot.

That of course doesn't mean the remake will be terrible but it's just a common and recurring difference between American and Foreign cinema.

On the back it should say Subtitles: English theatrical. If it doesn't say "theatrical" then it's the messed up subtitles. Most versions didn't have "theatrical" on the back. People have been saying they've been releasing the version with the corrected subtitles but I think that's ******** since i've checked numerous stores in my area and they only have the bad version.

Like I said, I got my Blu-Ray with the English Theatrical subtitles directly from Magnolia Pictures. So that IS the version they are distributing now, even if the stores have to sell off all their copies with the bad subtitles first. Unless you're just talking DVD's, which I don't know about.

I'm looking for the Blu-ray version. I've checked all over and some damn places don't even carry the movie at all. I'll just have to keep looking, hopefully at least one of these stores picks it up.

Amazon is the only place you should be buying Blu-Rays. LTROI is $16 the last time I checked, which was 30 seconds ago.

Also, I was just at Best Buy and saw that they currently have it on sale for $14.99. Didn't check the subtitles, though.

99% of the time that's where I buy them but I don't recall them saying if their version of LTROI had the proper subtitles. I'll recheck since it's been awhile.

Yes, it is. Tomas gave the story more "breathing space" with his camera, whereas Reeves seems to have done a lot more close-up shots. If nothing else, this movie will make for interesting comparisons.
