Rob Zombie to remake "The Blob".

It's funny how people bash Robe ZOmbie and his Halloween films. His ideas for his Halloween films were interesing and, alot of them worked. Not everything can be TDK.

I wasn't expecting TDK. Michael Myers in the batsuit would have looked silly. And his ideas didn't work he took away the whole allure of Michael Myers and made him a white trash serial killer with a bad childhood. He ****ed it up sorry you can't convince me otherwise. I doubt I would even see Halloween 2 for free considering how much Zombie's Halloween sucked.

I'd rather see a remake of Phantasm with Hugo Weaving as The Tall Man

I don't mind a remake of the Blob, I just hope someone else does it.

I had a thought of wanting to see Zombie remake Christien. Zombie likes cars and death, so I'd think a remake of CHRISTIEN woudl be more up his ally than THE BLOB.

though, this is actually one remake, I'v been wondering when they were going to do...

me an a friend of mine were talking about all these remakes happening in general, and were thinking, what if instead of actually re making them, they just fixed up the originals for re-release in theaters, how cool would that be?

Because the effects are out dated and alot of teens would be laughing at something from the 50's or so. You know how kids are these days. and what do you mean Fix up? Make them into HD?

Why does it have to be the Blob though? Zombie's stated that the monster won't be 'a big, red slime, etc.' so why use the title. What purpose is there in calling it 'the Blob' if you're not going to have 'the Blob.'

DAMMIT ZOMBIE GO BACK TO ORIGINAL PRODUCTIONS!

Cause I'm sure it could be a blob and then some what through the movie change. It could still be a blob just cause it doesn't look like it did in the other.

Jeez everyone needs to get off the guys balls already. As soon as his name is mentioned yell suck already!

Well, looking at H2 people almost have the right to yell "suck".

So what? **** those idiots who cant respect films. No one should give a **** about them.

Besides, the effects in the 80's flick was fine.

Yeah, I always laugh when people make fun of and hate bad films, too.

Yep, white trash Michael who sees vision of his younger self and mother FTW.

Wow, I really feel bad for the people who saw it and were expecting it to be at least on par with TDK.

Theres a reason why everyone is "on his balls". Same reason why people are on Bay's balls all the time. Even though I loved TF2. But I get it. I do.

And once again...why is TDK the peak of cinema....? I always compare films to their respected genres.

So, i'd say "Not every horror flick can be Alien.."

Can't say I'm very excited about this. Zombie, in my opinion, is 1 for 4, and for him I think doing another remake is a bad idea.

He needs to stick to original stuff. The Devils Rejects is an amazing film. I dont care what anyone says. Its funny, its scary, its brutal, its unpredictible, and has a fantastic ending to boot.

Using TDK to compare other films is so foolish. Never do I expect a film to compare to TDK...and to be honest, I would never want another film to compare to TDK. TDK stands on it's own, by itself, as a whole different thing completely. ?? No, not really, after a while it's become overrated to a point.

But it would be nice for film makers to flesh out their scripts, think more about what they really want to film, take the effort to set up a scene.......in other words, do what Chris Nolan did when he was making TDK...but that doesn't mean try and copy or compare another film to it. Nolan is a director, a fine one at that, who knows how to write and direct a film propurly and with care. If more directors would take the same path of movie making, a lot of films would be better. Doesn't mean they would come out looking or feeling or being able to compare to TDK (or the future Inception..teaser looks amazing by the way), but they would at least be well thought out and crafted films.

People just compare others to it because it's a widely loved film.

I really wish they would've made a sequel to the '88 Blob. I always imagined that preacher unleashing the blob in some densely populated city during a heat wave.

I think Zombie is an original guy who works better in his own crafted world. I loved his first two films, and the music video's he directs show wide and interesting images that capture the eye (or for me they do). His 70's low-budget style works for things that he crafts and creates and it works very well. But to try and conform his own view on things and fit it with someone elses work doesn't seem to blend very well. Of course, we only have 4 pieces of work to look at with Zombie. It's 2 and 1/2 to 1 and 1/2 for me with his films. The original parts he did for Halloween were pretty good, but seemed conformed to fit into a remake.

But he said last week in an interview, it's hard to make a film that's completely original these days and have a studio back it completely. The money and market really isn't speaking loud enough for original work right now.

I don't know why Zombie hasn't gone back to Lions-Gate, I don't know the situation there, but they seemed pretty good to him on Rejects, and were the only studio who took a chance on Corpses to get it released. I duno..

I seen in a interview when talking about the leak of that one Halloween 2 trailer he said Lionsgate didn't know how to market The Devils Rejects and they were trying to make it look like a Saw type film and that pissed him off, cause they didn't wanna promote as he wanted too.

Well they did a shot for shot remake of Psycho with Vince Vaughn and that was panned.
