Simon West Wants a Con Air 2

With his latest film, The Mechanic hitting theaters this Friday, Director Simon West is already looking towards the future and his next project, Medallion, reuniting West with Nicolas Cage, one of the stars of his very first feature, Con Air.

Today, West revealed in an interview with CraveOnline that he has another project in mind with Cage after Medallion.

"I'd like to do... 'Con Air 2'," West says.

At this stage, the sequel could just be a pipe dream, especially given the massive cast of the 1997 production, one that West says he'd like to reunite.

"It'd be great," West continues, "It's a matter of getting everybody together. There's so many people involved and it's about getting everybody to agree. But I'm going to bring it up to Nic. I'm going to put a bug in his ear about it. If the two of us want to do it, we'll go after the others."

What the **** are they gonna do with Con Air 2? Dave Chappelle ain't comin' back that's for sure.

Cage would do it. But would he still be in jail? Is Cage going to be a pilot instead? Is he going to supervise the prisoners? Is he gonna have the same hair?

How the hell are they going to do this???

Chappelle, Ving Rhames, or Malkovich would come bak, so theres thast problem. If they do make CA2 I want to see Nic with that long ass hair...

but how will thhey make a con air 2... unless it's CON AIR: Origins

Con Air is in my top five, movies I've waited years for, like Watchmen, The Expendables and Nolan's Batman movies couldn't knock it off the list. So I'm not sure how I feel about this.

It has potential to be almost like Die Hard 2 - where it's kinda the same situation happens by chance.

Maybe this time the same thing happens on a bus or something and Cage is called in to go undercover or solve it? Who knows...

This would be an unnecessary sequel.. it will be like the Butterfly Effect 2/3, the first film was good but the next 2 are the same f-ing film with a new cast..
