This is going to be f*c$^& Pathfinder all over again. All style, no substance. Conan should be EPIC, not this washed down bloody movie (like Pathfinder) with crappy character development that pisses on everything Rob. E. Howard stood for.

This is just %&*^(& dissapointing...

Damn, I never got around to seeing Pathfinder. Was it really that bad?

Thanks, I think I will. Any ideas on who could take up the role? I know that a lot of people are stuck on the "Arnold or no one" idea, but if the true character is really as different as you say, then it shouldn't be too hard.

Stevenson is an interesting idea. I really thought he was good Punisher: War Zone despite everything else about the movie being absolutely horrible.

I personally haven't read any of the Conan books or comics, though I've been meaning to get around to it. What are the principle differences between that Conan and the Arnold version?

Conan's really intelligent, funny, he is fluent in every spoken language in the book and a brilliant military tactician. He's tall, strong but not bulky, REH describes him as being as lithe as a panther. He does not have a special sword like in the movie, he uses weapons, armor and clothing indigenous to whatever area he is in.

It's not a very good movie. However, the violence in the film is very well executed and has an excellent cinematagrophy.

Every director makes a stumble. Louis Leterrier made the very mediocre Transporter 2 and Unleashed, and yet, The Incredible Hulk was an amazing film and Clash of The Titans seems to be looking good so far.

Stevenson would be perfect for Conan; he looks just like the Conan from the books and he is a great actor. Throw some long hair on him and bulk him up and he's perfect.

pathfinder was terrible dear i say we were better off with ratner LOL as much crap as x 3 gets it is still an enjoyable action spectacle. A also enjoyed the RH series and red dragon was cool ratner is not a bad as people make him out to be.

those 2 thriller remakes have nothing in common with Conan so it really irrelevant and pathfinder was close to Conan and it was horrible i would watch x3 over pathfinder anyday of the week.Haven't seen F13 so cant judge that and TCM wasn't bad a solid movie in my opinion.

No, as usual on the hype, some are being over dramatic. It wasn't great, but it wasn't Highlander 2: The Quickening.

As far as Conan goes, I would like to see someone like Jared Paradaleki from Supernatural/ Friday the 13th play him. Young (Conan was around 18 when he left Cimmeria to wander), tall (the guy is 6'4"), and not body builder 'roid monkey, but strong but lean.

Hmm, the choice is... interesting. I would of prefered someone else, but he certainly would have the style to bring a Conan film to life. But that's it style. I hope there could be more to it. I don't want it to be a gratuitous bloody sex filled fest.

It's not a romance novel. The tone of the original film was pretty close to capturing the books, given the time. In a post LOTR/ Gladiator/ 300 world, most fan's of this Genre want a bit more gravitas to the material. Thats where we all knew the Rat would fall short. Hell, he directed the weakest Hannibal Lecter film.

Well, whatever happens, let's just keep in mind that it's Conan, not Lord of The Rings. It should be something more on the side of 300, Sin City, and Heavy Metal in terms of the violence and the sexual content. That is the world of Conan, love it or hate it.

Seriously, read some Conan books or graphic novels. Sex and Violence IS the the world Conan walked in. He isn't He-man.
