The Dark Knight Concerns about TDK

Nolan's contract, as far as I know, is three movies. He's going to do them how HE wants to, which I believe was a stipulation. Unofficially or not. He made the movie he wanted to make in Begins, he's making the movie he wants to make in TDK, and he'll *gasp!* make the movie he wants to make in the third one. And they'll all be dark.

If he wants to stay on after that, awesome. If he doesn't and the studio wants to brighten it up for the kids, who cares. We'll have gotten three awesome, dark Batman movies beforehand.

Nolan hasn't signed any contract to do three films. That was the reason for paranoia amongst many fans post BB out of speculation that he might not do another Batman film. Judging by your join date, I don't think you were around at the time. He came back to do TDK only because he wanted to. In fact, he has also clearly stated in interviews that he's doing so only for the chance to make a drastically different film from BB. And if the studio limits his creative freedom for the third film in response to backlash from family groups over TDK, he might not direct it at all.

1. Multiple Batmen-Sorry but it's kind of ******ed. I know Joker is trying to inject Gotham City with a dose of chaos and mayhem, but can he do it without the multiple Batmans. Seems out of his league.

2. Who is AMH playing?

3. Joker not being perma-clowned. I'm sorry but seeing his makeup run and smothered all over his face like he was shot in the face with Homer Simpson's makeup gun, just makes me laugh and barf.

I love his suit though. Nolan got that down just fine. It's not light purple or a pink, it's a dark purple like it should be. And the socks are something he'd wear as well. The hair while more black, with shades a brown, than green looks stringy and dead like it should be. Still would like to know if we'll see Joker, pre-Joker, and if he actually will be in the end as a twist---perma-clowned, or not. Because if he's just some anarchist who loves dress up, I don't know I'll be able to accept it. The movie will still be good, but that might be the one concerning factor for me and other movie-goers and watchers that'll decide the box-office fate.

3. I want to know if Dent is married and having an affair with Rachel or if it's going to be like "BTAS" where he's dating Pamela Isley (Rachel) and Gilda is still not in the picture yet.

4. Is Bruce's penthouse going to be the home of the Batcave, till the Wayne Manor is rebuilt? We'll get to see Bruce using the computer to do some sleuthing and solving crimes?

5. Will a surprise villain be mentioned at the end credits like Joker was in "BB?"

6. Will Loeb die so Gordon can become the commish?

Do these things concern or puzzle you? Because point 2, 3, 5, 6 don't really read like concerns to me. Not being sarcastic, just asking.

Without doubt the Joker. I like the batsuit, love the batpod, don't care about the fake batmen, my biggest problem is the Joker. He looks like ****. Even if he turns out to be perma-white, which I desperately hope for, he still doesn't look enough like the Joker.

The fake Batmen have me concerned the most. I just don't see them being a really interesting plot device.

...but I have faith in Nolan and I'm sure it'll all work out.

The Joker appearance as a whole

Where's the green hiar? Not a washed green, not green highlights, but green hair. The Joker has green hair, period. End of discussion

The panda eyes. Ughhh, don't get me started.

The white make up instead of white skin. Way to **** up a classic character, Nolan. So much for your vision of the character.

As a film, nothing concerns me. Everything I've seen and heard so far leads me to believe that this is going to be a very worthy endeavor.

As a guy who has read comics since kindergarten, my only fanboyish concern is whether the Joker has bleached skin or not. I think the film can work either way; but my purist instincts want the Joker to be exactly as he is in the early Batman stories, the O'Neill/Adams work, Englehart/Rogers, THE KILLING JOKE, etc.

I still think there's more than meets the eye with the whole issue of how the Joker really looks, especially since we're dealing with a director who likes to f--k with his audience.

I don't have any major concerns that will keep me from seeing the movie on opening night. The whole Joker white-skin/makeup thing isn't going to keep me from seeing the movie, especially since I think we're only getting shots that Nolan wants us to see. The man likes to create twists and turns for his audience, so I don't think TDK will be any different. If there isn't a twist involving the Joker and his white-skin/makeup and he is only wearing clown make-up, I only have a concern about how insane/twisted Ledger's performance is so that it takes the focus away from that character trait.

My only concern is not with the film but with Chris Nolan. He might be getting fed up with all the attention and problems when making a batman film. I'am sure he's pissed about the leaked pictures and the fact that everything must be kept under wraps. I'am worried he might pass on another batman film.

My only real concern is that I hope that at some point, The Joker is revealed to be or becomes permanently white. At first I had a hard time seeing Heath Ledger as The Joker, but with all we've seen and heard since then I'm pretty confident. There's nothing that would stop me from wanting to see the movie.

My only concern is the laundry list of villans in this one. Has Warner learnt from their past mistakes yet...?

Batman Begins: Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow, Falcone, cameo from Zsasz

The Dark Knight: The Joker, Scarecrow, Maroni, Two-Face (briefly) at the end

Same number of villains, so what's the issue?

My concern for this film is not the joker or the suit(which I think looks good enough) but the editing, not only of the fights but other action related scenes as well. The damn fight editing was the only thing that I didn't like about BB and to me that's almost as important as the plot the story and good characterization, simply because its also an element of the story and part of the overall entertainment value. With begins I overlooked it almost, because the story was so good and the characters(specially bruce) where fleshed out in a way I hadn't seen before, plus we got the great tumbler chase to cover a bit for the horrible fights.

But now nolan most do something and change that **** cause to me atleast that could affect the film in a negative way far more than it affected begins. As far as the suit goes its not perfect of course, the leg area seems baggier than the begins suit(mostly because the crotch area seems to hang lower) but I have to wait to see a more close-up frontal pic of the suit to judge it fully. As for the joker, if they get the character aspects right and ledger's performance is as good as many in the cast are saying then I won't be bothered if his skin is not white but he really has to present an outstanding even oscar worthy performance. But you know what? ledger can(and I think he will) pull it off.

Well, I'm excited about just about everything I've heard and seen: the new Bat-suit, the cycle, all the Joker stuff...the gangs running around...Dent.

The only thing that has me a bit concerned is the numerous Batman-wannabes. Seems kinda strange. I hope it fits into the story organically.

Concerns i have none.....sigh ok maybe i do:

the new Bat-suit, gaunt looking Bale (god, that thin ass neck)

of course I tend to think all my bat-fears will be destroyed in 2008

Batman Begins: Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow, Falcone, cameo from Zsasz

The Dark Knight: The Joker, Scarecrow, Maroni, Two-Face (briefly) at the end

Same number of villains, so what's the issue?

Your convieniantly forgetting the gangs, and AMH rumored character. And i can't see any of the villans in TDK dwindled down to a cameo as small as Zsasz's was in BB.

Also, Dent needs some kinds developement if his transition into Two Face is gonna be effective.

Who the frig is Zsasz?

You also had the fake Ra's in BEGINS. Plus I gotta believe Two-Face will be a cameo. Maybe even less time than Zsasz...kind of a teaser at the end (or maybe not).

-Telling the large story in an efficient way
-The Joker's look
-The bat-suit
-The several Bat-men

AMH is rumoured to be a good guy. I think he said it himself, it may be in Mysterio's sig still.
