Confirmed - Bioshock on PS3!

How do you know? It might very well be as they say it is, which is that at this time there is no PS3 version in existence. I'll believe the words from the developer's mouth before I believe a rumor in a Playstation mag.

Because the staff had openly disclosed the PS3 version's existance early on in that preview for the European PS magazine, but had to recall the information after they found out they were violating their contract with Microsoft. Basically, we know it exists because the developers said it does, before they knew they weren't allowed to talk about it.

Early reviews are starting to showup and they look promsing to say the least :D. I'll try and keep this updated as they trickle in.

That's probably the best set of reviews a games gotten since Orcarina of Time, maybe God of War.

I think the only game that has a chance, and a pretty slim chance seeing these reviews, is Mass Effect. Halo 3 will probably get great reviews, but compared to Bioshock, it won't stand a chance even if it delivers perfectly on everything it can.

Damn the Big Daddy's are alot tougher to kill than I imagine!!! You need at least 5 health kits to kill one of them:o

this will probable not surprise any of you but bioshock is coming to PS3. according to users who have Bioshock on PC if you go into the codex instructions and read through the code there are notes on how they will react diffrently on the consoles both 360 and PS3 are listed. check it out on www.ps3today.com

Look what some one found In the configuration file of the PC Demo of Bioshock: there are some notes for the interested about the game engine configurations options and there's a little topic about consoles.
[Console]
;; Console (XBox360, PS3) specific settings

;; StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit:
;; If this is a positive number, then instead of using the fixed per-level
;; limits, the StreamingDynamic resource will use as much memory as is
;; available as long as the total memory allocated by the game is less than
;; the specified number. In other words, StreamingDynamic will grow and
;; shrink to fit to the available memory instead of being locked to a fixed
;; budget
StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit=500

You'll find this under Program Files/2k Game/Bioshock demo/Content/config.ini , just open the file with notepad or wordpad . Good news for ps3 fans although most already assumed the game was coming."

Please check for yourselves...

It could be old code they never bothered to amend! :oldrazz:

Uber sweetness. Now the only games I'll have to lice without will be Condemned, Fable 3, and Gears of War(as well as all the sequels). Maybe Mass Effect, but Bioware never really clicked for me.

The game runs on Unreal Engine 3, which is designed to work with PS3. Case solved.

Still, that doesn't mean it's NOT coming to PS3. Oblivion was thought to be "Only for Windows and Xbox 360," and look where that ended up. 6 months down the line I'll probably be playing Bioshock with a Sixaxis.

Why does that matter? Its still the game game. Great games that don't see are still great games.

Bioshock will show up on the PS3 when MGS4 hits the 360.

Which is never.

I think he's talking about lack of rumble (even though that'll be fixed by Bioshock's arrivial), and motion sensing that's yet to be justified.

Sixaxis

most people I've tlaked to just turn the function off and use it like a ps2 controller.

How much did sony spend in terms of R&D on that pathetic atempt to latch onto the wii's hype? :o

Sixaxis can be very useful when incorporated right and not just tacked on, like in Rainbow Six. Yeah it was cool to use it for the snake cam but it didn't add much to the game. Warhawk however uses the controller awesomely and really really made it a better experience.

warhawk...

what exactly did PSM and IGN say about the gameplay in warhawk? :)

Oh no! You've taken away my only reason for wanting to play it! :csad:

Yeah its lame to use Bioshock as some kind of arguing point over sales or rub the "other guy's" face over which system got the game first. Its just a game that EVERYONE who likes video games at all should experience, whether that be on the PS3 or 360.

Bioshock will show up on the PS3 when MGS4 hits the 360.

Which is never.

Both of those will probably happen, with Bioshock pretty much for sure.
