Confirmed - Bioshock on PS3!

Did games like SCDA, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Oblivion sell well for the PS3??? if it didnt that could be the reason why 2k not porting Bioshock.

I believe Rainbow Six Vegas did sell well, it's been in the top software charts for PS3 since it's release, I think

Yeah, that tends to happen when there aren't a good deal of great games to begin with. To it's credit though, Rainbow Six Vegas did exceptionally well on the 360 in spite of Gears of War hogging all the spotlight last holiday season.

I still think Bioshock will end up on the PS3. It might be next year/two years from now, but I'm sure it'll happen.

Yeah me too. I can't possibly see Sony just shrugging this off and letting it go. They are fools if they do.

Levine confirms no PS3 BioShock

Joystiq just got off the phone with Ken Levine, lead designer for BioShock, who says the BioShock PC issues are overblown because they're under a microscope right now due to the game's profile and he fully admits they "screwed up," patches are most definitely in the works and there is no PS3 version of BioShock in development or planned.

Levine admits there were "real screw-ups" and he "understands why people are pissed off" about the online copy protection verification for the game and it comes down to a classic victim of their own success story. They couldn't have planned the game would be such an insta-hit and they weren't prepared, so when all those people tried to verify their PC versions online during installation the server crashed. He also reiterated patches are in the works for the FOV issues and that the copy protection limit locked in for PCs will be raised. He also assured us that the servers used to authenticate the game for the PC to allow installation will be there for decades in case someone wants to install the game years from now. He says there is nothing "insidious" in their copy-protection, it's the same as any other game that uses the same protection program.

Then there is the lingering question of the rumored PS3 version of BioShock found in the PC code. Levine responds quite clearly, "I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people. There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding. There's lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft ... that's not a Rosetta Stone discovery."

We'll have the full Ken Levine interview up as soon as the lovely and joyful transcription process finishes. :(

That's what I thought when I saw that line of code from the PC demo. It could very well had been from before MS offered them the exclusivity deal when the PS3 version was actually in development and they didn't bother to change it later on. But then again, better to be objective and open to the possibility than show the pigheadedness of the Sony crowd betting their life on MGS4 not going to the 360, despite the fact that publisher comments and the burden of circumstances pointing that it could very well end up being a multiplatform title (and really, after DMC4 and VF5, you think they'd have learned something by now). I mean, why be so stubborn and risk yourself to complete embarrassment and ridicule later on? That's just juvenile.

I lol'd.

Seems I was right. :o :whatever:

Sony can't possibly be that dumb to let this game go. I'm sure they will do something.

Kind of hard to violate a contract when you're not even a party involved in the contract.

Still, I bet Sony will combat this exclusive by getting "Running With Scissors" to develop a "Bioshock clone" for the PS3.

"This month, an old rumor resurfaces in a new form, as BioShock is apparently back on for PlayStation 3. Previously, it'd been speculated that Microsoft tied up 2K Games' aquatic adventure as an exclusive, but there's a change in the tide, as the world rapture may be Cell-enabled in 2008, after all."

PS3 isn't hurting for good games.

No not yet, I was going to play it when I borrowed the 360, but I'd rather save the experience for when I could experience it at my own pace.

Gamera has also spoken on numerous occasions that MGS4 is coming to the 360. Move the MGS4 thread to Misc. Games forum.

I have this game and haven't played it :(

Oh, this is going to happen btw.
I have it to and only played like the first 2 levels and havent gone back to it. Maybe when I have time someday which isnt going to be anytime soon

That's because you buy crappy games. :o :oldrazz:

Do you ever get tired of just spamming and not actually contributing to the Sony threads? The only time you've made a post this month that wasn't worthless was in the Uncharted forum, where you asked about whether or not there was a collectors version? Am I incorrect in assuming you sold you PS3 cuz of the lack of games months ago?

I did. But my roommate bought a new one a month ago. Besides, I'm just playing around with Electro and he knows it. Why is that bothering you so much?

Oh and I spam EVERYWHERE. Not just the Sony forum. :o

You need to pull your g-string out of your crack, my good sir. It seems to be stuck up your ass and impeding upon your ability to take things lightly.
