Console Allegiance: Fanboys...who do you stand with?

The amount of ******ed in this post.. it's.. it's just horrifying..

Someone hold me. :(

1. The Wii has the best game line-up

2. Hideo Kojima is a god among men! A GOD!

3. You can't count multiplatform games!

I'm a Microsoft fan.
I used to be a Sony fan.

:o :csad:

1. Mario games have sucked for years now. Take those two off the list and you're down to Zelda: Twilight Princess and Metroid. Halo > Metroid, and anything that Bioware makes > Zelda. Thus, as you can see, the Xbox 360 line up has summarily crushed the Wii.
The Mario games don't suck, just the Mario Party games.

2. MGS hasn't been that great for two games now. It's the same game everytime, only with more cutscenes! I don't want to play a game for it's 'magnificent' cutscenes, I want to play it for the action and the actual fun of being in the game. PS3 loses. :o

Metal Gear Solid 2, I can understand because they did go a little overboard with the cutscenes and the insertion of Raiden, but dissing Metal Gear Solid 3 is a mortal sin! Your opinion has been completely invalidated.

Face it, Mario has been outdated since they came out with Mario Sunshine. There's only so many things you can do with one property.
If it isn't broken, why fix it? Also your comment about Zelda has further invalidated your opinion. :o

SC: Chaos Theory was still better than MGS3, though. And I'm doubting MGS4 is going to be that stellar of a game. After so many iterations, only direction most games can go is down.
You just love earning invalidation points don't you? :o

Zelda is awesome, I used to play it all the time as a wee child. That's what got me into RPG-style of games. But personally, there are better games out there made by better developers. Bioware being one of them, and they're doing something revolutionary for their game.. LoZ really didn't. Awesome IP, I love the games but you have to take a bow for the things really pushing the boundaries for video games.
Denying Bioware's awesomeness is rediculous. Knights of the Old Republic is #3 in my favorite game series list. But nothing can beat the Legend of Zelda (asides from Metal Gear), and that is not an opinion, it is fact, it is law.

Maybe you're earning invalidation points with me, eh? :o

Only I can do the invalidation motiff, it's my thing :o

Actually, I'm pretty sure that is opinion.

Nope, in 2004, Congress and the President passed a law declaring all of my opinions as fact.

First of all, I'm taking Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Ninja Gaiden 2 off the list because those are also going on the Playstation 3. Next, I'll be adding Peter Jackson's Halo to the list, I'm surprised that you ignored that one!

Only difference being the fact that Ninja Gaiden 2 is currently slated for 360 only and Itagaki has stated countless number of times he favors Microsoft's console over Sony's, that the Xbox is his "home base". And since PS3 owners are already being slapped with a port of NG thanks to NG Sigma, don't expect to see NG2 on the PS3 anytime soon, bucko.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Overrated, outdated piece of crap. Take the nostalgia factor away and there's practically nothing special about this one. It has nothing exceptional - the story is a spin-off of the same basic setup we've been seeing for more than a decade now. The characters are nothing more than one-dimensional and monotonous. The gameplay is basically Ocarina of Time with a couple of new mechanics *yawn*. And Nintendo sucks big time for not having voice acting in this one. Jeez, talk about still having your rear end stuck in the past.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

LOL, like a buncha ******ed Nintendo characters running around kicking the crap out of each other can even remotely hope to touch the greatness of truly revolutionary titles like Bioshock and Mass Effect. :whatever:

Super Mario Galaxy

Yeah, like the last Mario game was sooooooo good that I'll be wetting my pants over this one. Besides, I'm sick of the bugger appearing in two of every three games that Nintendo releases on their consoles. No thank you.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

The first one was good. The second one was showing signs of going downhill. And there is practically nothing eye-catching I've seen from Metroid Prime 3. Another one of the Wii's titles with the tacked on gimmicky controls, maybe. Could be good game when all is said and done, but I'll take Alan Wake, Bioshock and Mass Effect over it any day.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (all by itself) > Mass Effect, Bioshock, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Peter Jackson's Halo, Lost Odyssey, and Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

In terms of suckage factor, yes.

:o

So much comes out in this thread. It's like one of those TV shows that ruins the lives of it's participants.

Second:

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption > Mass Effect, Bioshock, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Halo 3, Halo Wars, Peter Jackson's Halo, Lost Odyssey, and Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

Hahahahahahhaa. Mass Effect > All

By the way, if you're so absorbed in the illusion of being an even-handed gamer, here's something to kick you back in the real-world - think of which platform holds the highest number of games you love and/or are interested in. That'll give you a good idea of which one of the big three do you favor most.

Thats a stupid mentality. Believe it or not, not everyone has a loyalty to a friggin machine and the company that makes them. I own all three previous generation systems. I own a 360 right now, I will buy a Wii when I get my tax return, and I will buy a PS3 for all of them. I will buy whichever exclusive games I like for each system, as for multi-platform, I buy whichever one I feel controls the best (for example, I would buy sports games for PS2 but shooters for X-Box.)

Is it me or are only Microsoft loyalists the ones who start these stupid threads and arguments (and Zenien)? Probably because their key demographic is 15 year old boys who play Halo in order to over compensate for a lack of a social life so they sit on a headset and go "HAHA MICROZOFTZ RULZ! HAH PWNED!" It is as if they can't accept that anything but Microsoft can be good.

My point is that no one can be completely impartial to every platform. For example, if more of your favorite games are on the PC, then obviously you will be more predisposed towards PC gaming regardless of it's drawbacks. If you like the PS2's library more, you'll incline towards Sony. Same goes for dislikes - you don't like Halo, KOTOR and other Microsoft franchises, you'll not be completely fair in your assessment of their console.

We all harbor certain degrees of favoritism based on our own likes and dislikes. And out of that we tend to incline more towards one brand than the other. That's EXACTLY my question. Which one are you leaning more towards? It was also to avoid any useless "I like them all equally" responses because no one does.

I don't lean towards any system. I lean towards games. For which I just buy all three, that way I don't have to worry about that. Each system has games that appeal to me and games that don't. It really is that simple. I don't sit around and have loyalty to a machine. That is like saying "HAHA MY TOASTER OWNS YOUR BRAND OF TOASTER! PWNED!"

But doesn't isn't preference of games directly related to your preference of the system? Even if you're not loyal to a particular brand, there must be some reason or the other why you will be partial to one brand over another, in this case, the platform that has the greater number of games that appeal to you.

No, I have about the same ammount of games for each console. Quit pushing it so hard, it is annoying. I am not loyal to any system, I prefer certain games for each console, so I buy all three consoles. I do not like any better than the other.

In fact, if you want to talk about being partial to one brand over another, then it should be about developers, in which case I admit, I am a bit partial to Konami. But I definitely have no allegience to a machine I play games on. That entire notion is just ridiculous.

I don't favor one system over another whatsoever.

While I think each system has it's own merits, I buy the system that has the most games I want to play on it.

In 2002, that was the PS2. Later on, I did purchase an Xbox when it had more games I wanted to play on it.

This gen, I'm getting a 360 when the games I want to play on it come out. The PS3 has only 1 game I want to play, and the Wii has none.

Now, do I think those systems that I'm not getting suck? No.

You don't want to play Zelda. Hang your nasty little head in shame.

Jesus, I'm not talking about console loyalty dammit. I'm talking about which console you prefer over the others for whatever reason. Really, is that so hard to understand? It's like the third time I'm repeating that. I too have more than one console and a PC but I don't love them equally.
