The Dark Knight Rises Continuity in TDKR

Well to be fair, it had been one year supposedly since the events of BB, and nothing in the story as far as I saw called for references to really be made to the whole fear gas incident since it seemed that the main priority for Batman and Gordon was to take down the mob once and for all (prior before Joker became a credible threat from their POV).

And they did mention on how Wayne Manor was still being rebuilt, which was a result out of it being burned down by Ra's, while Sal Maroni was now the new head of the crime bosses after Falcone had lost it.

Then you have Bruce telling Rachel about the very conversation that they had at the end of BB.

I think if anything, TDKR will be the film that bridges both BB and TDK in the best of ways. Now as to whether the Joker himself will be mentioned as well, well that remains to be seen...

6 months, it would make sence for everything to still be being rebuilt

Somebody (http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=22202745&postcount=379) from the General Discussions board put up the set pic above (I'm not sure if it is a legit part of the TDKR production though). However, the interesting thing is that the sign says 2014 at the bottom. If BB took place on 2005 (the year it came out) and TDK took place on 2006 (between 6 months and 1 year after BB), then it makes sense that TDKR takes place on or after 2014, which would be 8 years after TDK.

Which scenes are these? I feel like a noob.

The one in Begins is just after the funeral of Bruce's parents, where Alfred sees Bruce looking out the window and says he'll prepare a little supper.

The one in TDK is just after Alfred reads Rachel's letter to Bruce, and then brings it in on a breakfast tray. Bruce is sitting in his bat costume brooding over Rachel's death.

Thanks. Either that's a good eye for catching that reference or I'm just blind as a bat to such things.

I was hoping for some closure with Ra's... I wanted to hear about a body, or lack thereof.

Also, Rutger Hauer (Earle) could have been addressed. What if Earle somehow helped Bane/Tate gain access to Wayne Enterprises and Wayne Tech?! That would give some continuity. People like Earle hold a grudge, they don’t just go quietly... Oh well...

Makes sense.

Yeah, I was also going to bring up Earle. I think he was speculated to be a villain in TDK working alongside the Penguin, but I'm kind of glad that didn't happen.

The train blew up with Ra's inside. The writing is on the wall. Earle didn't need any closure. He got fired. What else do you need?

If I'm Bruce Wayne, I need to see a body. Period. If I'm Bruce Wayne, I keep tabs on my most motivated corporate enemy.

Ra's is a flipping ninja! He's nearly Batman's equal. I'm not just going to assume he's dead.

Earle, meh, just thought he might be mentioned.

Ra's admitted himself he was on a suicide mission. "My fate lies with the rest of Gotham". He knew there was no way he was getting off that train alive. Hell he smashed the brakes for good measure.

I think Bruce was certain Ras wasn't coming back again after the train fight.

I always thought it was "my fight lies with the rest of Gotham." Dunno, could be open for interpretation. But now that I think about it, the fear-gas attack was kind of like a suicide mission.

You know, it could be fight. His voice was muffled by that gas mask, and it wouldn't be the first time I've mis heard a word in these movies.

I want to see in TDKR how falafel guy is coping in Gothams harsh economic climate :woot::cwink:

I too am concerned about Sir Falafel. I mean, he was clearly being mistreated in his small scene. Perhaps he will be Azrael.

Things i would like to see for continuity's sake would be mentioning Rachel
and Joker

Followed by Alfred saying "Very well" when Bruce says nothing and begins to walk away and Bruce calls him back. Both scenes where Bruce is grieving for the loss of someone, too.

That was a neat touch.

Yes, I wonder how much of these are just good coincidences or meticulously and intricately well thought out continuities running through these movies..

Anybody have any speculation/wishes for references to the previous movies ?(eg. another appearance by Dr. Crane, LoS, mention of the Joker, and FALAFEL GUY)

FINALLY, i've been waiting for someone to raise concern about FALAFEL GUY. He does have kids to feed.

Of all my zombie-esque viewings of the film, I NEVER made that connection! :D

Good eye there mate. Know why I luv ya

I thought that it was Batman who smashed the brakes. Who smashed the brakes?

I abide by "Venture Brothers" rules... No body, no SURE death. Period.

Ra's is dead. He got blown up. There's no body left to show. He's ashes.

You dont know that!

Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaage!!!

Lol

Since Ra's is ashes, fans have Bane's permission to assume he's dead.

Finally! Thank Bane. I like how Bane is tying up all the loose ends.
