Cop Shoots 8th Grader After He "Charges" At Cop

And it's never been a fact of reality that the negative gets more attention and exposure than the positive.
Give me a break, society at large generally brown-noses law enforcement and "the troops".

They can get away with so much because they provide the illusion of safety no matter their potential for tyranny.

A 14 YEAR OLD KID. The kid was scared like any kid would be and ran. I dont blame him. Also Kids do dumb **** like this because well....um...oh right THEIR KIDS. The KID went to a school for trouble youth so he had some problems with things like this anyway. Any reasonable cop wouldn't have taken out their gun, maybe the taser but not a gun. This kid died because the cop didn't wanna do his job and got mad because he had to run after the kid. He didn't deserve to get shot, let alone die because he punched a kid.

Yes, and 14 year old kids never have guns ESPECIALLY the ones that go to schools for troubled youths. And the cop didn't have to run after the kid, the whole point of the original story was he didn't have to go after the kid.

Cops make the world a better place one bully at a time

In all honesty though... I love police officers and have known tons of good ones. There's crap ones out there, but more good than bad. I have a lot of respect for them.

:whatever: But he didn't have a gun did he?

This is something that always bugs me... though I'm not sure it applies in this scenerio since I can't judge anything off of that biased article... but there's the potential of weapons and cops, and whoever else in any given situation, have to be aware and ready for that. If something bad happens and it turns out that there was no weapon, they're crucified for it. It's like Bush and Iraq. Everyone thought they had nukes over there and when the war was announced America cheered. No nukes and suddenly Bush is a horrible person for sending troops. That just annoys me.

Thing is... if the kid wasn't a juvenile, assaulting someone, and then running from the law... he wouldn't have been suspect of being a greater threat. I won't say the kid deserved it, because he didn't, but you can't say he didn't bring it on himself in this situation.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of cop apologist who will come out of left field to defend trigger happy cops.

When the police shoot an unarmed man you should be more skeptical of the policeman's motives, not less.

If a cop shoots an unarmed man there's always room for question. In this scenerio, well, this thread, the article in question is written with a heavy slant so I don't necessarilly take what's said as truth... and therefor, I take no sides. Give me an authentic article on the details and I'd be more prone to "condemn."

But in relation... I personally find it odd how people can be so... juvenile... run from the law... and all that and still be looked at as a poor victim. It is sad but as I said before, the kid brought it on himself in his youthful stupidity.

lol, being a cop is the ideal job for a bully.

Heh, I actually meant that as a joke... they're making the world a better place by removing bullies one at a time.

A police man is an ideal job for a bully though... but it annoys me when people talk like they're all corrupt and out the get the nice working folk. That's a load of crap.

Yeah right as a cop you don't know if the suspect has any weapons on him.. The kid assaulted someone and ran into a shed for hiding, as the cop was approaching the kid jumped out and started charging.. How was the cop to know he didn't grab something out of the shed to shank him with on the charge? Being a cop is no joke, your life is at stake everyday it is not unreal to think a 14 year old has a gun considering a 12 year old when I was in middle school brought a gun to school.. Ofc the eighth grader who was executed is obviously unable to provide his side of the story but eyewitnesses say he did charge out of the shed at the officer. I don't know that's just how I feel I would say it was a justified shooting.

The kid didn't bring it on himself by running. He's a kid and was scared. In that situation you probably run too.

Since when was running and hiding from the police a capital offense.

Now cops have the authority to kill kids who run and hide from them?

He should've thought about that before he decked the other kid in the face right in front of a cop after already being expelled from two schools and being put into a juvenile justice academy...

Oh and by the way it was not the running that got him shot, he was hiding in a shed and when the cop approached he jumped out of the shed and started charging. There are plenty of things that can be in a shed used to stab someone.

This story sounds like ********. I first thought it was going to be from The Onion when I saw the title.

No surprise this has degenerated into "Cops are evil *******s. **** them."

Maybe the cop shouldn't have pursued the kid into a tool shed knowing he might have to use lethal force. This kid was not a rape or murder suspect. Get the kids name from other students and pick him up from his house. duh.

It also degenerated into "The police can do no wrong, who cares if they kill unarmed 8th graders".

This was the appropriate action.

Chasing down a kid for... punching someone, is stupid.

The guy was obviously unfit to be a cop, as proved by his previous reputation.

God I love people who just hate cops. Grow up. seriously.

This story was terribly written, but this dude sounded like an idiot from the get go, and definatly needs to go to jail for a bit.

God I love people who just trust authority figures implicitly. Wake up, seriously.

People who never trust police are more or less idiots who base the opinion off of a personal experience, often something trivial like being pulled over. The point is, if you are in trouble, you CAN go to the police for help. There are some bad cops, but that doesn't mean all are and they should never be trusted. If you think it's bad here, it's even worse in other countries. Especially Central and South America, Africa. Asia is probably no better as well as some European countries.

Cops deserve criticism just as much as any Government entity. They're not above it.
