Even if the cops wrongfully killed the man they won't be punished.

I smell two-week suspension and a month of desk duty.

*sigh*

Mr. Bell drove the car half a block, turned a corner and struck a black unmarked police minivan bearing several plainclothes officers.

Mr. Bell’s car then backed up onto a sidewalk, hit a storefront’s rolled-down protective gate and nearly struck an undercover officer before shooting forward and slamming into the police van again

So not only did he slam into the vehicle [which at that point could have just been an accident] but then he backs up, which at that point makes it a hit and run, almost hits someone [undercover cop or civilin, doesn't matter] which makes it attempted vehicular manslaughter and THEN procedes to ram the minivan AGAIN. At that point the officers justfully believed after a repeat ramming that they were being attacked and dfended themselves. Case closed.

That's pretty much standard for ALL offiecrs involved in a shooting while it's being investigated.

The "suspension" isn't really a suspension. When I was forced to shoot a suspect, it was dept policy to remove the officer [me] from street duty and given a desk job for a minimum 2 weeks while the incident is investigated. ALL shootings, no matter how blatantly justified are investigated. Once it is reviewed and is determined to be a clean shooting, the officer returns to active patrol.

More cop BS..... just like that 92 year old lady killed when police (in plain clothes) stormed her house and as far as she knew, she was just defending herself.

I live one jurisdiction under where that occured. An undercover purchased suspected narcotics from someone who came from that house. Narcotics officers later returned with what's called a no-knock warrant. That means they, obviously, don't have to knock on the door. They must announce themselves as police and then break through. No-knock warrants are issued when it is believed that knocking in a normal fasion would allow occupants the time to either attempt to flee or arm themselves.

After announcing themselves and entering the home, they were fired upon and were forced to return fire.

I know the whole NYPD Blue shpeil, but how come Cops are NEVER wrong-They never misjudge in regards to each other. Cops are the most gun concious citizens except when it comes to using them.

If shutting down this tity bar was such a priortiy that involved undercovers and such-God know how long it's been operating under the nose of that preciects jurisdiciton.
Is that how an undercover case is engaged?
You can't run over a cop when he's identified-and pretend he was armed to the teeth, which he wasn't- but there was an argument before hand w/ an undercover, if I can play D.A.

The question comes down to how many rounds does it take to kill a suspect?

I just read the story
I have never been so angry in my life over a news report....
I've read near close to everyone's comments on this matter
But I'm just plain mad.
:cmad:
those cops need to rot in the hell
[please notice I said that THOSE cops, I did not say ALL cops]

Anything that comes out now in favor of the cops I have a hard time believing, how conveniently it all comes together now, hmmmm,oh now I remember why I unloaded my weapon twice. Still not justified.

The men were in a car. The cops couldn't have asked them to get out of the car or something? They had to execute them (and that's what it was. When you pull out your gun and empty two clips into a car, no warning shot or anything, you know that you are killing these people)? There is no justifying this. Period.

ugh
the cops said this?
They could just be covering their butts.
*shrugs*

Damage to van does not equal execution.
Using an automobile as a weapon=officers defending themselves

Actually, what is odd
I was nearly killed by a vechical because I was on private property and they decided to chase me off because I was on horseback. They thought I could handle it. I was 12 when that happened.
the f**ker didn't get in trouble at all

I'll never be convinced that 50 rounds is justified and I am moving on.

Then you see how you're wrong. Accept it. Move on.
I was thinking you'd see how wrong you were. Accept it. Move on. And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon.

Cops(Stupidity + Poor marksmanship) + Crazy situation = Bullet festival.

Except I just told you how you were wrong and provided the proof of it. You've been proven wrong and embarrass yourself for trying to debate it after the fact. Move on.

You weren't telling me how wrong I was. Your earlier post (which you quoted) wasn't even directed at me. My post came after reading your's and I still don't see how I'm wrong. Move on...Are you trying to start a catch phrase?
