The Dark Knight Rises Corrupt Politicans Casting

In most realistic worlds, there are the corrupt politicans, especially in these comics and stuff, maybe a mayor, a councilman. It's not definite any characters like these will be implenmented in any of the sequels, but let's say they were.

My top choices for a corrupt politican/mayor are Sam Neil, James Woods. They are probably the best at what they do, i could totally see them in this type of role.

There is one choice that i know some will blast me for, but i am going to name him bravely....Jerry Springer. This is probably the only role i would ever suggest him for, and i can understand if people wouldnt want him near a Batman movie...i understand that. Just thought i'd have a little fun with it, because he does have some acting skill as seen in "The Defender" and "Citizen Verdict".

But i put his name out there, for those who have seen "Citizen Verdict"

He plays a powerful TV Host who goes in with a FL Senator (Roy Scheider) and creates a show where criminal's trials are held on tv and the audience votes guilty or not, then death penalty or not. His character, Marty Rockman, gets to greedy. Jerry's performance blew me away....not something i expected from him.

But he definitly isnt my top choices.

Yeah, Mayor Hill is most likely. Normally Springer wouldnt had even came to my mind, but after watching "Citizen Verdict" and see'ing him perform very well as the evil suite, i liked it. Hope he does more roles like it.

I would be very intrigued. A corrupt Mayor or sorts would be the only thing id suggest for him in a movie like this. Springer rocked as evil Marty Rockman lol.

But yes, James Woods is a personal favorite of mine. Sam Neill too. I dont know, i could just picture those guys in a dark gritty Batman movie like Begins.

In the late 1970's and early 1980 Batman comics Rupert Thorne was councilman/ mob boss who after Englehart's run came back to Gotham city during the 1980's. Now BTAS Thorne was a mob boss and never a councilman. Thorne in the 70's put restrictions on the police to work with Batman.
in the 80's when Thorne came back he put in two corrupt officials Hamilton Hill as Mayor and actually replaced Jim Gordon with a corrupt commissioner named Peter Pauling.
Jim Gordon, Barbara Gordon, Jason Bard, and Vicki Vale all worked underground with Batman aginst these elements while Batman fought other villians such as The Monk, Dr. Death, ( who came back after many years) and other Batman villians.
I'd like to see those elements later on after Gordon becomes police commissioner.

Now i actually cant believe i ran across another movie of his on HBO, but i did. Now i am even more behind him being in a role like this. I saw "The Defender", which has Jerry Springer in it as the President of the U.S.

There was one scene where he sets a meeting with the joint chiefs and then people burst in and arrest them for being traitors to our country (plot of the movie) and he gets self-righteous with them. His expressions and delievery were great. Even though he wasnt playing an evil character...he still gave that badass aura, and still managed to be the good president lol.

So i will place him officially third on my cast list.

I think i may actually add Gabriel Bryne to my list. Although i think he fit more as a gangster, maybe a politican or someone powerful non-mob related in Gotham would be just as good.

He was great in Mad Dog Time, and his devil in End of Days was pretty good.
