Their was talk of having the ring pass by Clark Kent. Well it seems Superman is starting to ramp up again. With GL not coming out until 2011. Its still plenty of time (even after GL has finished filming) for Warner to find a new actor to play Supes and then to create a 1 to 2 minute scene.

Well from what campbell said like a month ago about not wanting to use non green lantern characters in this first film i doubt superman cameo will happen. Plus we still dont know if/when the new superman film will actually happen.

Maybe we'll see Hal in the Superman movie, or maybe they'll use the same scene from the GL script, in the Superman. Have the GL ring pass in front of Clark. Only we (fans) would know what that is, but it would be cool.

I am begining to believe that you cant do that in the DC Universe since the fiming rights for all these characters belong to different producders and they are so afraid that their character in another picture may influence/hurt their version of the character. I am not going to hold my breath on a Superman/Clark Kent cameo.

i doubt they will. filming starts in March and nolan/goyer just started on their Superman script so the Superman casting is still ways off.

i think it could happen. if it's still the ring thing then it'll only be about a second long so it wouldn't take a whole lot. plus if they haven't found a superman by then they could just have the ring pass by the daily planet. and if they don't do it then i'm sure someone out there will take whatever effect they use durring the ring's searching scene and impose that over a shot of the daily planet from smallville or a shot of clark at his desk from the new supes movie if/when it comes out

it would for me as i said be best for all these first films for characters to just stick to the character themself, maybe allued to someone else but dont actually seeing them.

eh, i like the sense of a bigger universe shorts like ironman and hulk did. not alot, just enough too hint at the existance of the rest of the dc universe. like maybe in this one there's a newspaper someone's reading with an article about the batman in gotham or something, just to show that it's happening in the same world.

Martin Campbell said that there would be no other characters from the DC Universe in the film. Unless they are planning a rewrite at the last minute I hardly think that it will happen.

Exactly.

it would be great if it did happen and it would be cool. But we still dont know how things are really moving for these other projects like flash, or even superman. Then plus we dont even know when supes would be filming, and when cast would be selected. Take for example if filming isnt happening to spring/early summer 2011 for a 2012/2013 release by the time they are ready to be shooting the new supes film green lantern would probably already be in the can and wouldnt be able to add a clark kent cameo scene.

Why not just have the ring pass a tall guy with glasses, like in Spider-Man 2 when Mj passed the guy that looked like the Punisher?

Or, have GL fly by a building with labeled Queen Industries.

If that doesn't do it for you, have a shot of Earth's orbit with a Watchtower satellite in construction.

Ask Martin Campbell that question insted of speculating.

what?

yea i still say its not likely the kent cameo is still in. Since production will be wrapped by june/july at the latest. And we still have no clue at what stage the new reboot is at right now. Plus campbell said he didnt want any non green lantern heroes in this film. Then with nolan saying for all we know right now he wants supes to be in his own world. To me its better to just stick with the gl characters for now. If anything is to be expanded upon to try and get a dc universe going i say its checkmate/sucide squad with amanda waller. Which could be a group that pops up in gl as we know, possible flash if that gets going within the next yr or two. and as for batman/superman we will just have to see how things go there.

hehe...that's just some dude dressed in black.

it kinda reminds me when fanboys thought venom was in Spider-Man's eye in the Spidey 3 poster.

"No, that won't happen," Campbell told MTV News when asked about the chances of Superman (or possibly Clark Kent) appearing in "Green Lantern" in some form.

Way back in December 2008, we brought you the first, exclusive report that a Superman cameo was being written into early drafts of the "Green Lantern" script, as revealed to MTV News by the film's co-screenwriter Marc Guggenheim. In a follow-up interview conducted in July 2009, Guggenheim said the script was still in flux, and he couldn't be sure if the Superman cameo would make the final cut.

Campbell's comments would now seem to indicate that a meeting between Hal Jordan and Clark Kent was no longer in the mix for "Green Lantern" — and the same goes for a meeting with Bruce Wayne or any other DC heroes, too.

"None of the other DC characters will appear in the film," said Campbell.

Straight from the horses mouth. :hehe:

Straight from the horses mouth. :oldrazz: Although it kinda contradicts it with the casting of Angela Bassett as Amanda Waller, hmm... :hehe: :awesome:

That article was posted in Jan. Between Jan and now alot has changed. So who knows....

Personally i think it would be absolutely a killer introduction if they had the actor who is going to play Supes in the Nolan reboot have a small cameo .
I mean Green Lantern comes out in June right ? And Comic-con is in July.

If WB and Nolan are able to find their Superman/Clak before filming of Green Lantern ends , they could film a quick scene with him & Reynolds. Hell just film the guy as Clark considering he'll need o bulk up anyway.
Then as fanboys go nuts , make a proper introduction at COMIC-CON 2011

well waller is a different deal there. He was more talking about other superheros showing up compared to dc universe supporting players. But yea i still say its not going to happen. Mostly cause supes still isnt no where close to going into production, and no cast. And with both nolan wanting supes to be solo world. and campbell saying no heroes.

Plus you have to also look at it. Production for gl will probably be done with first/second unit filming by june. Superman for all we know doesnt have a director on board yet, no clue when its going to go into production. And isnt even in the casting stage. For all wee know. It probably wouldnt be going into production to probably early summer 2011 for a possible summer/winter release in 2012 or might not even be released to 2013 which would mean production probably starting late 2011. So with that if film isnt even cast by early next year there is no way they could add the scene in.

The man said none of the other DC characters (and I am taking that to mean the heroes) will be appearing in the film. If he comes out and does something different now, then he would clearly be a liar. I don't believe he is. If they are going to use Superman, Batman, Flash, or anybody else, they are not only going to need to get clearance from the WB, but from the producer that owns the filming rights to the character right now. The issue with that (as was demonstrated in "Justice League: Mortal") is that the version portrayed by one director may conflict with the version of the other and could affect his revenue if one version is better than the other. Don't count on a Superman/Clark Kent cameo in "Green Lantern"

totally its far better to keep each hero separated right now and just have an over arching event take place in each film like sucide squad/checkmate dealings to be the tieing thing to these new DCE films. So then if we do get to a jl film within the next 5-7 yrs the events we saw through these films could bring the heroes together to form the jl and all that.

As for the kent cameo i still say its not going to happen, and more then likely is being filled by the john stewart one staying and the possible guy one staying. i rather stick to mentioning future gls in gl then try and tie in clark kent. Since we dont know how the new superman is going to be and where in his film he will be in his career(as for the no origin stuff from a few months ago i still hope it doesnt mean no origins at all or it means we at least get to see superman's career start and all that). Plus with us not knowing when they are to go into production or when casting is going to happen. Gl could be already edited and in the can before we even have film going into production.

it think they should just mention Metropolis.

also, I think the ring picked Hal because he was the closest to the site, while Guy was the second closest. They should go with that.

Otherwise they make the ring fly around the world, that would be silly if most of the candidates are American.
