Could the Surfer have his thunder stolen ?

With SM3 due up before FF2 does anyone think that perhaps the Nightsurfer action sequences may steal some of SS's thunder ? the aerial combat we saw in the 7 minute footage in the battle between Peter and Harry was very cool and there is more later on.

I'm not saying it will effect SS i just thought it was a point for discussion since we will see two characters using airborne surfboards in action this summer

Hmmmm, I hadn't really thought about that, but it's an interesting point.

I don't think I really connected them partly because The Nightsurfer seems to have more of a snow-board. I think they're visually and conceptually different enough that it shouldn't be a problem.

On a sort of related note: The first SM3 trailer - for some reason that I can't put my finger on - left me sort of cold, but this latest one makes it look pretty cool.

That is a deffinate. This movie is to highlight the Surfer, make no mistake. The clip with Night of the Museum, and the 1st 2 tv commericals showed that. As for Peter, and Harrys scene stelling Surfers thunder ? No way. The Surfer will be the talk of the summer. Rothman said they were sparing no expense with bringing the Surfer to the big screen, and he was right.

My point. Noone is going to steel the Surfers thunder. We will get FULL Surfer in this movie, and the kids will go nuts. And we all know kids, bring parents back. Why I say this movie has the potentual to be huge. Mabey not POTC 3 huge, or mabey even Spider-Man 3 huge, but more box office then any of us imagine, and I will stick to my prediction, 300 domestic is NOT impossible. And Hunter, I still have that screen shot where you said 300 domestic is impossible, and I got the super glue ready to stick it to your forehead, if and when it hits 300 million domestic. Surfer mania will run rampant this summer. The offical trailer will be attatched to Spider-Man 3. Think of the millions of eyes that will see that.
