Could the world declare war against the U.S.?

I don't believe the United States will be the world's strongest super power forever. I was talking about current strengths. The question wasn't whether future military's will be able to take us out.

I type fast and I'm constantly rewording my sentences, and sometimes I forget to remove or add certain words.
:huh::huh:

I was talking to lazur :csad:

You have to understand people hate "George Bush", not America.

Indeed, half of the people i know feel that way.But if the world was to declare war on America,it would be destroyed. Now some people think that America`s nuclear arms could protect it,yes...but not forever.Keep in mind that the world has alot of people, and arms.America could destroy some, but not all of the forces from attacking it.

Planes and tanks would come from the pacific and atlantic oceans,as a nearly endless force would crush the USA from the outside in.Moving from its costal cities, towards the central part of the country until the forces on both sides would meet up with each other.

Jourmugand, I've noticed a trend in your posts: They're all surrealist masterpieces.

The only way this could happen would be if our military and thus our President allowed it to happen. It would have to be done just like the Allies crushed Germany in WWII but would also have to come from the North and South borders as well. The perfect scenario would be that the attacking nations would wait for a terrorists attack to hit the US and then launch missles at military targets to soften us up. At that point the air attacks would begin to further soften up the civilian population as the war ships containing the invading land forces arrive from across the sea. China from the Pacific, Russia would come over the Arctic Circle, a United EU minus GB from the Atlantic and Venezula and the other anti-American Latin countries from the south ripping through our pathetic 700 mile anti-immigration fences. Cuba of course would take Florida and annex it, since they practically already have Miami.

while i agree that if the world teamed up on the US we'd get creammed...nukes dont have to protect us forever. That is one thing keeping people from attacking us. However dont forget that every state has a National Guard and that our militaries are the most advanced. Yes we'd lose but the other guys would know we'd been in a fight
also in Red Dawn it was Cuba and Russia that attacked us not one country

Everyone on Earth would eventually die from the effects of the nuclear war.

The U.S. versus the forty next most powerful nations would result in quick peace. Our navy is more powerful than the all the other nations' navies combined. Our air force consists of planes far superior to any other nation's.

The only area we would be outmatched in is ground forces, but our complete control of the seas and sky make that a moot point.

The world's only hope for defeating the U.S. is nuclear weapons. In which case, there is no winner.

i have ideas on how it could be done, but to say how isn't a wise course of action.

If Britain were against the UK, they have the finest special forces and intelliegence, they also know how america operates better than any other country(maybe even america, lol). It wouldn't be difficult for several nations to cripple the US, a small matter of surprise, or sabotage, then they'd be helpless...

If you have ideas on how it's done, I'm sure other world leaders could conceivably be drawing up plans.

And I think it's a bit arrogant for anyone to sit here and say "our military is more superior than all other militaries combined and we'd kick everyone's *ss". If the 20 next most powerful countries decided it was time to kill this country, I'm sure they could use technology to get around at least some of our recon. As I said, even if we see some of them coming, I doubt we'd see ALL of them, nor do I imagine, in all of our arrogance, that we'd even SUSPECT that a whopping 20 nations (assuming some are also our closest allies) would "dare" come after us.

One thing I've found in life - arrogant people usually get destroyed by their own arrogance. It works to counteract a little something the rest of the world calls "common sense", building a wall around them that prevents them from seeing beyond their own noses, despite the big fat fist heading right for it.

A couple of EMPs and our entire domestic command and control structure could very well be toast. Of course, with 200 million+ privately owned guns in the US, they'd still have one hell of an 'insurgency' to deal with after overcoming our military. :)

that insurgency goes into civil war over cut supplies.

It's more likely that civil war would result from the broadcast disruption of American Idol.

entertainment is just one supply that can be cut. the problem with all this obviously is that it results in total annihilation of the land and people. you would become your enemy.

I like how nobody suspects the Canadians.

Rest assured, we have a plan. Ohhh, we have a plan. :ghost:

The War of 1812 - The Arrogant Worms
Oh, come back proud Canadians
to before you had TV.
No Hockey Night in Canada,
there was no CBC.

In 1812, Madison was mad!
He was the President, you know.
He thought he'd tell the British
where they ought to go.

He thought he'd invade Canada,
he thought that he was tough.
Instead we went to Washington
and burned down all his stuff!

<chorus>
And the White House burned burned burned,
and we're the ones that did it!
It burned burned burned
while the president ran and cried.
It burned burned burned
and things were very historical.
The Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies waa waa waa
in the War of 1812.
</chorus>

Us hillbillies from Kentucky,
dressed in green and red,
left home to fight in Canada,
but they returned home dead.
It's the only war the Yankees lost
except for Vietnam.
And also the Alamo,
and the Bay of... ham!

The loser was America
the winner was ourselves.
So join right in and gloat about
the War of 1812!

<chorus>

In 1812 we were just sittin' around
Mindin' our own business, puttin' crops into the ground!
We heard the soldiers coming and we didn't like that sound,
so we took a boat to Washington and burned it the ground!

Ohh we fired our guns
but the Yankees kept a'coming.
There wasn't quite as many
as there was awhile ago.
We fired once more
and the Yankees started running
down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico-o-o!

They ran through the snow
and they ran through the forest!
They ran through the bushes
where the beavers wouldn't go!
They ran so fast they forgot to take their culture
back to America and golf and Texaco!

So if you go to Washington,
its buildings clean and nice,
bring a pack of matches
and we'll burn the White House twice!

And the White House burned burned burned,
and the Americans won't admit it!
It burned burned burned
it burned and burned and burned!
It burned burned burned,
I'll bet that made them mad.
The Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies waa waa waa
in the War of 1812!

Keeping secret the origin of the attack and attacking with enough strength to truly damage us (which could only be done by decimating a large portion of the general population) is impossible and retribution can be as swift as a strike on any capital in the world in under an hour or total bombardment in a day or so. An EMP would have to take out world communications in order to blind us as our military spans the globe and I’d imagine that there are plans in place to deal with such an attack. That’s if it even took out our shielded and hardened systems. There has never existed a more powerful country in human history. And in an all out war I have no doubt we can kill everyone in the world (including ourselves) and I believe that is something we would do rather than fall. I know I would.

No, the United States has a) the most nukes of any country, so'd you'd have to be fairly foolish, or a fanatic and b) we are far to important economically. Why do you think people have no declared war against North Korea or China, the economic ramifications would be far too high.

We aren't untouchable. But England, France, and several other nations are still our allies. You have to understand people hate "George Bush", not America.

Actually, if my source is correct, then Russia has the most nuclear warheads so you are probably wrong on that one. Of course Russia is on very good terms with the US(for now) so it's highly unlikely that they would use them against America.

I some how doubt that the US Army an Navy is more powerful than the next 40 most powerful nations on earth combined!
