We need an epic crypto series in some medium...

North America.

The wilds are haunted by primitive elementals, driven by singular emotions. Neanderthals build societies around shamanistic religion designed to use the elementals as a source of protection from the beasts stalking the untamed continent. Strange, scaled creatures and scaled simians begin appearing in the Neanderthal territories, forcing one of the Neanderthal shaman to bargain with the Wendigos in the north. Bargaining with the Wendigos results in the shaman being given a hunger to utterly destroy his enemies within the Neanderthal tribes. In order to sate his hunger, the shaman goes south to the Deltas of Time. In the mist-shrouded deltas, echoes of the past and future coalesce to fill the swamps and bayous with songs of deals gone bad, dreams fallen into ruin and celebrations of outlaw banditry in the marshes. In the deltas, the shaman duels with the Crossroads Picker--shamanistic magic versus the sorcery of the Picker's guitar (something foreign to the Neanderthal)--and the Picker allows the shaman to win their duel. The Picker takes the shaman on a journey through the deltas, wherein the Neanderthal experiences the dehumanizing brutality of slavery--the slaves' being abused, the freed slaves being hunted like dogs, and other slaves that participated in bloody uprisings against their masters. In the plight of the slaves and their masters the Neanderthal sees his own people as the slaves and the masters as the scaled simians and their reptiles.

Meanwhile the leaders of the scaled simians begin creeping into Neanderthal society, disguised as medicine men and shaman. The elementals show favor for both the Neanderthals and the scaled simians in accordance with nature as emotions given corporeal form. Infiltrating the Neanderthal tribes allows the scaled simians to sow dissension while the aforementioned shaman is away in the Deltas of Time. Some abduct young Neanderthals and perform experiments on them, creating creatures modeled after various cryptids: the goat man, donkey woman, the melonheads etc. A select few of the experimented Neanderthals fight to retain their humanity--and will go on to become the gods of the various Native American tribes that emerge with the recession of the Neanderthals. The scaled simians emerged from a pocket plane that drifted out of the Deltas of Time, settling around the Earth's core--which acts as a sort of sun for the pocket plane. The leader of the scaled simians opposes the Crossroads Picker; they are eternal enemies. The scaled simians' leader also believes that the Neanderthals are a brutal, stupid people who are better subjugated or eradicated. They are dangerous weapons in the hands of the Picker.

The Neanderthal shaman--having completed his journey with the Picker--is lured into a bargain. Ultimately, it is human nature that will determine the course of time. The Deltas of Time are a myriad of shifting possibilities. The Picker wants to ensure that a particular reality comes to pass, and thus must find a way to force that reality to become the course for the future. The shaman's bargain grants him the Picker's hellhounds--beasts of rage, victimization and abuse given form--and a verse of song that will give the Neanderthals total control over their elemental patrons.

Returning to the Neanderthal tribes, the shaman uses the song--and in doing so forces a joining between Neanderthal and elemental in which the Neanderthals' humanity is ripped, violated, and scavenged by the elementals. This forces a physical change in the Neanderthals, giving them a more bestial appearance. Some of the Neanderthals escape with the help of those transmogrified by the scaled simians; these eventually give rise to the first Native American tribes, while the mutated Neanderthals become known as sasquatches, swamp apes, and other simian cryptids. One of the transmogrified Neanderthals, tired of it all, flees to the east coast. In the barren wilds, mourning the loss of her people and the unwanted intrusions of the scaled simians' genetic modification, she begs for a return to the rosy nostalgia of the days when the Neanderthals lived alongside the elementals. Before the coming of the scaled simians and the shamans' song that gave birth to the simian cryptids...the Crossroads Picker hears, and from the mourning Neanderthal is born a beast similar to the Jersey Devil.

The Jersey Devil seeks out the sasquatches, the scaled simians, becomes enemies with the emerging Native Americans and finds solace in working as a sellsword warlock for the highest bidder.

Let's not forget how racist the sasquatches are towards the Skunk Apes.

I drove from Richmond,VA to Green Bay, Wisconsin and back last week.

On the first trip I ended up driving through Point Pleasant, WV where the Mothman apparently was "sighted" back in the day. I drove over the bridge that collapsed back in the 60's. The place felt pretty eerie even though it was in daylight.

I'm not exactly knowledgeable on the subject but what is the correlation between the bridge and Mothman? Or any interesting links on the subject that are not too far out in left field?

I watched a TV documentary about it not long ago. Something like, whenever there was a Mothman sighting, something bad would happen around the same time.

What happened? Did you meet him?

I swear, my work for the day was done, I was heading for the train to go home, and suddenly, I heard him. He was breathing heavily behind me. I recognize his shadow, thanks to his long ears. I knew I only had seconds to save my life, so I ran without turning back, but he was running after me. The only thing that saved my life is that I managed to jum in the train a second before it closed its door, so the bunnyman couldn't catch me. It was only then that I dared turn back to see him. It was indeed a man in a rabbit costume. But most of us know that man, for, it was Shia Labeouf.

That's very scary. I've never actually encountered Shia Labeouf before, but I hear that you should never stare him directly in the eyes. Otherwise he'll plagiarize, er, ah, take your appearance and ruin your life. Like a drunken doppelganger. In order to appease him you must offer him photos with his own signatures and a burrito.

I was really scared when He chased me. But the most frightening thing (and probably the most frightening in my whole life) was when I realized it was Shia Labeouf. And what if he comes after me again? I can never feel safe again.

Once Shia Labeouf takes notice of you, he'll follow you everywhere you go. He'll watch you from a distance, but he'll never be far behind you. You might notice something in your peripheral vision, but when you look he'll be gone. And sometimes you'll get phone calls in the middle of the night, but nobody will answer. And there will also be times when your door bell rings and you go to answer, nobody will be there to meet you, but a DVD of Transformers will be on the doorstep.

Even though orbs in photographs can be explained as dust being reflected from the flash of the camera. But if they actually did represent ghosts, then how haunted am I?

You're so haunted! If you look closely you can see tiny faces staring back at you, and each one resembles Shia Labeouf.

Shia's so creepy, he can haunt me when he's alive.

dudes, I've been thinkin' about ma life since I've been stalk'd by Shia. I've decid'd to fight him to da death. If ya don't hear from me in the days to come, please, rememba me as I was here: a dude who lov'd to laugh, and who wasn't afraid to stand up for what ain't no wrong. (truth is I'm scared, because I'm chure I won't make it alive against Shia, and he may very wall eat me alive.).

I'm so terrified right now. I think all this talk about Shia Labeouf has attracted his attention. Earlier tonight I had the impression that someone was watching me through the window and when I looked I caught a glimpse of Shia Labeouf's face staring at me. What's really upsetting is that it's the second floor window, and there was no ladder. Shia Labeouf has powers far beyond understanding.

what's frightening about all that, is that obviously he's looking at this thread, so nobody ain't safe anymore. Also, I don't think we live on the same continent, so fer him to travel this quick makes him possibly the most powerful being on da planet.

Shia Labeouf is not composed of the same matter as the universe, that's why he's able to transverse outside of space and time and appear wherever he wants.
