I'm intrigued, care to share?

Ok, so one night, not too long ago, I was trying to load SHH, and the loading icon was spinning one way, and then suddenly, it started going in the opposite direction!

Also, every now and then my cursor moves, and my text ends up in the wrong spot, or my entire post gets mysteriously deleted, as if some force from beyond doesn't want me to participate here.

Clearly, we have a poltergeist.

But we have another spirit. I've seen her at least twice. I captured her image for you.

That is so scary, Tempest. I agree that SuperHeroHype is haunted, some of my posts get deleted and even some of my threads! I believe it's the dreadful Pazuzu who poses as the Thread Manager, I'm so frightened right now.

Here are some Japanese ghosts.

Bakechochin: A ghost lantern carried by ghosts, or obake. Bakechochin means “haunted lantern.” The lantern has eyes and a long tongue protruding from its mouth. It serves as a home for the ghosts of people who died with hate still in their hearts and are thus earthbound. If a person mistakenly lights one of these haunted lanterns, the hateful ghost inside will jump out and attack

Buruburu:The “ghost of fear”. The buruburu lurks about in forests and graveyards in the form of a shaking old man or woman, sometimes one-eyed. The buruburu attaches itself to the back of its victim, causing a chill to run up and down the spine. The victim then dies of fright. Variations of this ghost are the zokuzokugami and okubyohgami, which possess their victims and cause them to be too afraid to go anywhere.

Funayuhrei: A ghost ship that travels silently at night or in thick fog. It appears suddenly without sound or lights. Meeting one on the sea is fatal. The appearance of a funayuhrei will cause a ship to start to turn violently in circles and then sink. The doomed ship then becomes a funayuhrei itself. As for the victims, if they are lucky, they drown. If they are unlucky, they might be captured, tortured and eaten by the isohime, a giant, fantastical mermaid that likes to catch the survivors of sinking ships

Gashadokuro: The ghosts of people who have starved to death. The gashadokuro (“starving skeleton”) appears as a giant skeleton—up to 15 times taller than a person—made up of the bones of the starved dead. It roams about after midnight and announces itself with a ringing noise that sounds in the ears. If you do not flee, it will bite off your head with its giant teeth.

Ikiryoh: A spirit that is born of evil thoughts and feelings harbored by a person. The ikiryoh, energized by hatred, becomes powerful enough to leave its source and enter and possess the object of a person’s hatred. Once inside, it kills the victim by slowly draining the person’s energy. The ikiryoh is extremely difficult to exorcise. Rites to drive it away include the reading of Buddhist sutras.

Konakijijii:The spirit of a baby who was left to die in the woods. Konakijijii means “the crying old baby.” It lures people who are out in the woods with the sound of its crying. When people get close, they see that the baby strangely has the face of an old man. If you pick the baby up, you will not be able to let go of it, and it will suddenly become so heavy that it will crush you.

Kubikajiri: A head-eating ghost that lurks about graveyards late at night searching for its own lost head. The kubikajiri eats the heads of both the living and the dead. It announces its presence with the smell of fresh blood. If you see it, you are likely to lose your own head.

Mononoke: The mononoke are a type of ghost comparable to the poltergeist, but which live in inanimate objects. According to Shinto belief, all things, even inanimate objects, have their own unique spirit, or kami, which gives them life. The mononoke, however, like to scare or even kill people. Most of them live in or around temples, shrines and graveyards. Supposedly, priests can drive them away by reciting Buddhist sutras.

Nurikabe: The nurikabe is the “wall poltergeist.” It appears as a large white wall in front of people who are out walking about late at night. If you try to pass the wall, it will fall on you and crush you. If you turn and run from it, it will reappear in front of you. The only way to escape is to hit the bottom of the wall with a stick, and it will disappear.

Anyone ever had sleep paralysis and seen the "old hag"? Supposedly, this is a somewhat common occurrence.

I've had sleep paralysis but haven't seen the old hag. What does she look like?

I too have experienced sleep paralysis but I've never seen the old hag. I have seen grey creatures surrounding the bed but they weren't as scary as not being able to move.

In my case the creatures were my parents giant dogs. In the dream one climbed on my chest and breathed near my face. Wasn't really scary, those dogs are as sweet as nutella.

My grey blobs where like the things you hallucinate, that are on the side of the road, while driving late at night, after being awake for 4 days straight.

I have no idea but I am sure my imagination makes her much worse than she should look.

Damn, I haven't seen those. Granted I only had sleep paralysis one time if I recall correctly. I just got frustrated that I couldn't move then went back to sleep.

Man, I don't even want to watch that video. The old hag is scary enough. Nine other apparitions are too much for my ass.

Heard of the old hag but never seen her. I've had sleep paralysis but it's been mostly monks. I'd imagine that old hag would look like Joan Rivers though. Maybe 20 years older pre surgery.

I had an incident a few months ago. I almost never have them but I definitely saw "someone" in the room and I knew there was no one there but it is still hard to convince that part of your mind the phantom is just shadows and objects reshaped into something.

Creepy...

Sleep paralysis is terrifying. After my first episode, I tried everything to avoid it again and was told to not sleep on my back but I only have it whilst sleeping on my stomach. And I've had 3 episodes of sleep paralysis now and they all involve this cloaked figure trying to take me with it through this weird hallway that looks like it's located in an abandoned asylum. My hallucinations are pretty generic but still scary. :funny:

I recently acquired this journal entry from the family of Piper Maru. Please be warned, its contents are highly disturbing.

---------------------------------

I was recently on an expedition in the jungles of Indonesia, surveying the rare species that clamber about in the vast and dense underbrush. It was the ninth day of our expedition, and we had just set up camp by a rivulet. The jungle was, as usual, full of sound - insects, birds, and other creatures. We sang songs around a modest campfire and retired to our tents.

I awoke to the sound of screaming. Horrible screaming. Each scream piercing the air until it was silenced. I sneaked out of the back of the tent and hid down in the rivulet, the cold water rushing past me. I could see little in the dark, but I could hear a clucking sound, like that of a great chicken. Then all was quiet. I waited in the water, terrified, until dawn.

The camp was in tatters. Nothing remained of my fellow travelers, save for stains of blood on the damp ground. All the supplies were gone. I was doomed to die in this jungle.

There was a trail left in the underbrush by our attackers. With dread, I decided to set off in pursuit. Perhaps some of my friends were captive and needed my help. Together we could survive this place. Perhaps.

I traveled throughout the day and long into the night, following the trail. Finally, at dawn, I arrived at the end of the trail.

What was this strange temple? I could hear clucking sounds coming from within. And a strange chant, spoken by human voices. What was being said?

I decided to sneak closer.

I made my way around towards the door into the temple. I could hear the chanting and clucking better now.

A shiver went up my spine as I listened to the words.

"ooga booga spider aziz ooga booga spider aziz"

Suddenly a native leaped out in front of me and said

I feel like laughing like this this year
Laughing cause why not?

"It makes no sense!" I screamed as I was dragged by the feet into the giant chicken. "It makes no seeeeense!"

[Here the journal entry ends, save for a few final scrawled words at the end. These words are not in Piper's handwriting, and appear to be a primitive language. However, we have translated the words as follows:]

I want to be corn.

You made a long post here just to advocate your win for the death match?
That should be an act of desperation, and you sir, are not desperate.

We had a local legend of 'Jackass Mom', a lady lives in a hill, she has donkey hinds, comes to the village to steal children at night.
Dunno why, no one made up a reason for that act.

no i made a long post here because it was funny
