The CW has announced that its show "In the Dark" will air its third season entirely on the CW streaming service:
Exclusive: ‘In the Dark’ Season 3 Moving to Streaming as Part of CWTV Expansion

In related news, they opened a production office for Green Arrow and the Canaries. This means it's a mere formality that the show will be picked up to series soon. It may air on TV or it may be part of the streaming expansion, but it's happening and we'll know details soon.

This effectively removes the timeslot limitation for CW television.

In turn, that removes what we thought might be a shelf life limitation for aging shows with lower ratings like Black Lightning and Legends of Tomorrow.

Many expected both shows to end next season to make room for newer shows, but now there is every chance that they will try to ride out the contracts of the main casts like they did for Arrow and are likely doing for Flash and Supergirl.

This is really huge news for DC TV. I really feel like all the Arrowverse shows will continue for as long as their main casts want to stick around (most of them are on seven season contracts).
