I’m glad they’re making a tonne of money at any rate. They’ve been one of the best devs out there for the gaming consumer.

I don't mind FPP-only during cutscenes. I even embrace it.

It'll probably eventually be patched in after bad feedback

Doubtful, but I can see the PC community create mods for it once CDPR makes the tools available post-release.

CYBERPUNK 2077: CD Projekt Red On The Odds That Their Upcoming Game Will Come To The Nintendo Swtich

Cyberpunk 2077
is a highly anticipated first-person shooter that's coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in April of next year. CD Projekt Red are the developers of the upcoming game and they're best known for the Witcher video game series. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released for the Nintendo Switch on October 15th.

Recently, John Mamais participated in an interview with Gamespot during PAX Australia. The head of CD Projekt Red's Krakow office told the site what his thoughts are on post-launch microtransactions — find out more on that here. He also commented on the chances that Cyberpunk 2077 will join The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Nintendo Switch.

"Who would have thought a game like The Witcher 3 would be possible on Switch, so who knows?" Mamais began optimistically before providing a more realistic answer. "I guess we'll see, if we decide to put it on the Switch, if we can do it. Probably not."

Cyberpunk 2077 is looking to be one of the most ambitious and taxing games of the current generation of consoles. CD Projekt Red are pushing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to its limits with the upcoming game. With that in mind, it makes sense that the game would be too much for Nintendo's versatile and portable console to handle.

Back in June, the Cyberpunk 2077's lead quest designer commented on whether it's likely that the game will make its way onto the next generation of console — those being the PlayStation 5 and Xbox's Project Scarlett — and you can find out more on that here.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on April 16th, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

CYBERPUNK 2077 Developer On Games That Add Microtransactions After Launch: “I Think It’s A Bad Idea"

While recent push-back from fans and critics alike have seen some developers and publishers at least cut back on the amount of microtransactions in their games, they still remain a big feature in many games, with companies like Activision attempting to have the best of both worlds by adding microtransactions after a game's launch.

However, despite being a widespread practice in the gaming industry, there are still many developers that opt not to include such features, including CD Projekt Red who notably kept out microtransactions out of The Witcher 3 and their upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077.

Now, speaking with GameSpot, the head of CD Projekt RED’s Krakow office John Mamais has shared his opinion this common business decision.

"I think it’s a bad idea to do microtransactions after you release a game," Mamais explained. "It seems like it’s very profitable, though. It’s probably a hard decision for the guy that runs the business to decide if we should do it or not. But if everyone hates it, why would we do something like that and lose the goodwill of our customers?"

In short, while Mamais certainly sees the draw of including microtransactions, as they are often very profitable, he doesn't believe they are what fans ultimately want from games and has no desire to include them in his projects.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently scheduled to launch on April 16, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

CYBERPUNK 2077 Developer Discusses The Game's New And "Fully Immersive" Cutscene System
While we've seen a fair amount of gameplay for Cyberpunk 2077, we've only seen an odd cutscene or two, but now one of the developers has revealed what players can expect from every cutscene in the title.Read more

Coming off the massive success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, all eyes are on CD Projekt Red's upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, which as a first-person title is a pretty major departure from the developer's previous work.

However, it's not just the first-person point of view that's different, as John Mamais, the head of CD Projekt RED’s Krakow office, recently revealed that the highly anticipated RPG will also be utilizing a new cutscene system.

"For Cyberpunk, for the narrative part, for the cinematic part, there is something new called a Scene System," Mamais explained to Gamespot. "It's like our dialogue and cinematic system that occurs within the context of the gameplay of the game. It's really important because one of the pillars of the development of the project is the idea of full immersion and this new Scene System is all about full immersion. You don't break into a letterbox formula and see this cutscene taking place, you're actually in the cutscene and you can control the character or the camera, there are different levels of control depending on the cutscene. It's fully immersive; it doesn't take you out of the experience at all. So we're doing that and also other things too."

While it sounds like this new system was partly created because of necessity, as they chose not to adopt the third-person point of view, it's clear that this "Scene System" is also a part of CD Projekt Red's goal to make the game as immersive as possible, a goal that's frequently mentioned by the developers.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently scheduled to launch on April 16, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.

Cyberpunk 2077
is a highly-anticipated open-world first-person shooter title that's in development at CD Projekt Red. It will notably include Keanu Reeves as an in-game companion be releasing on April 16th, 2020. Recently, CD Projekt Red revealed that the game is on the verge of going gold — more on that here.

During their annual community event in Poland, according to an attendee (via VideoGamesChronicle), the developer hears the call for car customisation to be included in Cyberpunk 2077. However, the studio requested patience on that as they don't have anything to announce to do with it at the moment.
As well, CD Projekt Red revealed that they're aiming for realistic car physics. That means, more so than that of fellow open-world games such as the Grand Theft Auto series.

Similarly, the developer talked about in-game racing mini-games. Apparently, those of Cyberpunk 2077 will be "untraditional," and let players really test the speed of their vehicles.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on April 16th, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Getting the f out of the way of FF.

Getting the f out of the way of FF.
I just... I am okay with this actually. Not happy, but considering Remake, Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 3 and Last of Us 2 are coming within 2 months of each other, I will live. I am probably going to pick Nioh 2 on day 1 now. Wasn't going to do that at first, was going to wait with all the games. But now there feels like a gap.

Just heard that. As long as it's great when it comes out I don't mind waiting longer.

Delays have pretty much become the modus operandi for any AAA title as of late.

Which is why I am completely fine with Nintendo's tending to announce titles later than most other companies. Obviously, there are exceptions to that, and some of them have backfired when things have to be pushed back.

Avengers and now Cyberpunk delayed again :( Doom Eternal better still be released in march or arpil

Not unexpected, but obviously for the better.

Will just give me more time to clear my backlog. Also saw that HZD is possibly coming to PC this year so there's that in the meantime. :mrk:

Oh the release date is September?

giphy.gif

I so wish retailers would start refusing to list any release dates for games in advance and would refuse to allow any video game preorders. Tell the publishers to just **** off with their "release dates".

Probably for the best but I'm pretty sad about it

Hopefully this means a next gen port will happen sooner rather than later. I was already going to wait to play it until the PS5 came out (since I don't have a Pro, only the base PS4), so this actually makes it easier on me. It'd be nice to get a version on consoles that had ray tracing.

It'd be nice if the delay meant the devs could take it easy but they're probably still going to crunch like crazy.

Or consumers can use their brain and not pre-order?

Witcher 3 was delayed twice... So I find some of the desperation quite an overreaction. :funny:

Who said that, Churchill?
