CD Projeckt Red Cyberpunk 2077

Or consumers can use their brain and not pre-order?

Witcher 3 was delayed twice... So I find some of the desperation quite an overreaction. :funny:

This situation doesnt exist in a vaccum. This is an industry wide issue that's become more common than a AAA game making its release date. They set a release date, delay, set a release date, delay.

Do you know any other major manufacturing industry that misses this many delivery dates? I work in manufacturing and I know if we were missing this many delivery dates with this many orders people would be losing their jobs and we would be losing buyers because at best it's bad management at fault, and at worst it's a complete top down production line problem.

I'm just sick of the complete lack of consequences in this industry. They act as if they can get away with anything and lie about everything. And the fact CDPR had to delay Witcher 3 two times only makes this worse, because CDPR didnt do better this time. Theyve repeated the same mistakes. They didnt manage their time properly, they had to crunch and work their employees to the extreme, and they are again going to miss their release date. And because of that they are going to be doing an 8 month crunch and theres again no guarantee they will even make the new release date.

This industry needs to get its **** together. Its sloppy as hell.

This is why I never get excited for a game until it's a week out from release.

Yeah. It's why I don't mind marketing for sports games and other yearly titles not going full out until just weeks or a month before release. No dragged out hype and it's enough time to decide whether to pre-order and get them on day one or not.

Part of me likes how far game marketing has come since when I was growing up between NES and N64 but sometimes I miss that simplicity! Back then, all we knew about upcoming games were commercials, small ads in magazines or a bundle of game demos given out free at restaurants like Pizza Hut or certain stores

The thing is that people can't just get a Cyberpunk 2077 somewhere else. It's a unique product made by one company. Gamers can't just take their money elsewhere. So even though these games get delayed, ultimately gamers put up with that because it's either getting the game or not getting the game, so I can se how these developers can just delay games like this. I mean we're all going to wait and buy the game, no?

That does sound pretty great!

Really cool feature.

Awesome right there! Hopefully more games start doing that

That’s good because I think I’ve bought duke nukem like a million times haha

Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt Gives Huge Update on Release Date

CD Projekt Group president and CEO Adam Kiciński had some heartwarming news for us.

“There is no shortage of motivation and we also possess all the tools needed to facilitate remote work. We’ve been operating in this mode for over three weeks and to-date results confirm that we can carry on with all our operations without major disruptions. Our plans haven’t changed; we’re steaming towards the September release of Cyberpunk.”

:db:

So do they have a supply chain that is uninterrupted?

Must really suck being an Australian gamer. So many banned games

Someone from CD Project Red's development team responded to that with a tweet saying "we don't **** around" :funny:
