And then they gave her an Asian mother in the film. Come on Marv.The whining about the Major's casting always seemed like people just trying to virtue signal or people that werent actually familiar with the anime and manga:
Physically the Major has never been distinctly asian. And her name being asian doesnt mean jack ****. It doesnt change the fact that she doesnt look asian and isnt asian. A name doesnt determine a person's race. Plus she's a cyborg so she isnt really any human race at all.
Also was there outrage when Scorsese remade Infernal Affairs as the Departed and cast a bunch of white people in the roles? Or when The Ring and Grudge were remade with white actors in the lead roles?
Many of the other big devs have the opposite mindset and want to milk their customers to the max while providing as little as possible. It’s almost like a battle with their captive customers whereas CDPR act as if they are wholly on our side.
I love CDPR. They are responsible for 3 of my favorite games ever (Witcher 2, 3 and Gwent). I couldn't be more excited for Cybepunk. But there talk about crunch is really sad to me. They said they are going to lessen crunch on Cyberpunk, not eliminate it. For a company who says they are better, that's just crap.
