CD Projeckt Red Cyberpunk 2077

No dog in the fight regarding this game. I don't game much anymore but I was initially interested in this game before they announced it was FPS.

But yeah this seems to be a really bad launch. Probably the worst I personally have witnessed for such a hyped and anticipated game. Even Destiny and Anthem weren't terrible launches.

Saw this on Reddit.
6 months doesn't fix this game.

They need to build Ai, flesh out the entire world with interactive objects/people, fix thousands of bugs, overhaul customization. Basically, we need a new game. Years.

Honestly I've played about 16 hours now and I can't personally recommend it even on PC where the worst thing that's happened thus far is texture pop in. If you want to see this done right, go play the two modern Deus Ex games: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.

I did want this but after how bad the launch has been I'm going to either wait until a better version is available or not get it at all.

PC is allegedly ok but everything else = no good. Maybe wait a few years for the price to come down and for everything to be patched but yeah, it’s a disaster of a release
A shame such a massively anticipated game has come to this. :csad:

Avengers and Anthem were far worse.

This is why I mostly avoid preorder games. Even all the effort and crunch time for this game came up short. This game should have been sparkling perfect with all the time put into it or they should have delayed it further to get it right. I don't know how they got it so wrong with this much extra work put into it.

These sound pretty bad. Anyone else experiencing these?

Geez what a mess. I feel so sorry for the developers. They must have had such dreams. It must be horrible to see it all crashing down around them, even after crunch which was too big a sacrifice to ask for just to end up with this.

thank heavens I’m not handling their admin, social media accounts etc today. Not their fault but they’re going to cop it

This game should not have been made for Xbox 1 or PS4. Too much time has been and will be wasted in trying to get it to work at an "acceptable" level.

This should have been next Gen only. Which I think now feels the affects of them wasting their time trying to get it to work on older systems. I also think this would helped reduce the hit PCDR has taken to their rep.

While it works fine on SX I will just wait for the actual SX version. This will also give them time to work out bugs as they probably won't get around to releasing an actual next gen version for 6 months or longer because of all the bugs and work being done to get old gen to work right.

On a side note.. I am disappointed in the gameplay I see people streaming. Seems combat is run in and button mash and one hit people with arm blades, or shoot them with over powered guns. To me does not seem like much fun.

I'm gonna 'hang-on' then, was gonna buy for myself for Christmas but will leave alone till the PS4 glitches have been seen to and fixed.

I have about 40 hours in, mostly exploring Watson doing reported crimes and gigs to grind my street cred, and hacking every vending machines I can. I'm level 6, got over 100K eddies and even found three Legendary items from loot crates. I only started doing the main story last night...

While I have enjoyed my time so far, there's a lot of problems with the game and I'm not specifically talking about bugs and performance issues (zero crashes so far), but about features and content.

I'll post my honest, brutal opinion later today or this week but I'll just say this: We didn't get the RPG they promised us. Instead, we've got an action-adventure game in the same vein as the recent Assassin's Creed games.

turns out CDPR ****ed up in a couple of ways.

Firstly it doesn't use SMT (AMD's version of hyperthreading), either by accident or legit corporate bias towards Intel, but some hex editting can make it work.

Secondly it uses 1.5 gigs of RAM MAX, and only a fraction of the GPU's memory by default, you must manually edit a file to allow the game to use more.

I saw that this morning. :hehe:

The game even has forced anti-aliasing (it uses TAA) which can be a framerate killer. To disable it, you have to use a hex editor as well... And FOV being limited to 100 is bull****. For a PC developer, CDPR really dropped the ****ing ball here.

I'm reminded of the original Witcher in the worst ways

I think this is quite different than Colonial Marines, which had footage in the demo that wasn't even in the final product.

I mean, CDPR apologized for not showing footage of the game running on the base Xbone and PS4. For understandable reasons.

been seeing no issues on my game play so far (PS4 Pro with latest 1.04 patch).

I don't want to say the complaints are overblown. But when I got Arkham Origins, I didn't really notice a lot of issues technically. The game did crash on me once. Now, an isolated game crash isn't something I've had with just Arkham Origins. Sometimes, the fast travel feature with the Batwing didn't work all that smoothly. But that's all the game had in terms of technical issues.

Sometimes though I do want to see for myself if it's unplayable.

For example, the open beta I tried for Anthem was broken and virtually unplayable. The game was a mess.

The PC port of Arkham Knight was so broken, WB had had to remove it from Steam before it got fixed months later...

Should've done a staggered release then. But the game itself was a good game IMO and I thought it was better than Arkham Knight.
