Dan Brown's Robert Langdon follow-up "The Lost Symbol"

Yeah some of the clues appear to be just about American History in general, I don't know how one book could tie all of the topics covered by these clues together. Then again, it is Dan Brown. Angels and Demons was 700+ pages (paperback) so I guess he could try and cram it all in. Some of the clues are probably red herrings though.

I think in general though the direction of these clues points to Freemasonry and the founding fathers. Most of the others just appear to be random strange events in US history, and some seem completely unrelated altogether.

Well there haven't been any updates since two days ago, sometimes there's a lull but usually we get at least one clue a day. Anyways here's something to hold you all over, it's not really new but I haven't seen it discussed in this thread. Apparently there are some strange clues hidden on the cover for the new book, you can read about it here.

You can download the hi-res version of the cover art and see for yourself by searching for it on the publisher's website here. Unfortunately there's no URL pointing directly to the hi-res version but you can find it pretty easily. First, click "Enter" on the page that link takes you, then do a keyword search for "The Lost Symbol." After the search is done (it takes a while), click on the first result and a pop-up window will open. Click "View Asset" and a download dialog will appear where you can save it to your hard drive. It's a .tif file but that shouldn't be a problem unless you have an ancient computer. If your browser just displays the image instead of displaying a download dialog you should still be able to save it to your computer just by right-clicking the image (cmd + click for the "others") and choosing "Save As..." or something to that effect.

i might preorder this, is anyone else going to do that?

I am going to. I know several people who already have.

where are you preordering from? im leaning towards amazon over b&n but I'll go with who has the better deal

Well I haven't looked into it too much yet but probably Amazon too. I live out in the middle of nowhere (aka Kansas), I don't think there's a Barnes and Noble or any major book store really for about 50 miles in any direction.

Edit:

New clues have been posted on the Twitter and Facebook pages.

See a complete solution to Monday's (July 27) clues here: http://twitpic.com/bxjak

Yeah they've been pushing that for the past few days, they're starting to release some clues only on Facebook and not on Twitter. I don't think they'll get there before the book is released though, not at the rate they're going now. They're only gaining about 400 fans a day, they'll need to be gaining around 900 a day to make it in 45 days.

Less than a month until the release now. They're definitely not going to make it to 100,000 fans before the book is released. Probably not even 75,000. Dan Brown's official website has been updated as well: http://www.danbrown.com

And you can check out a wallpaper I put made for The Lost Symbol here.

Thanks! Less than one week until the release of the book!

I'm pretty excited for this. So close.

i thought about rereading the other two before i read this one, but i think i'll just wait and read this one.

My book will be delivered to me this morning! I'm going to disappear for a while...

Ive just bought a copy :)

on the first page of the book
Fact

in 1991 a document was locked in the safe of the director of the c.i.a . The document is still there today , its cryptic text inludes reference to an ancient portal and an unkown location underground . The document also contains the phrase : '' its buried out there somewhere''.

All organisations of this novel exist including the Freemasons, The invisible college, the office of security , the smsc. and the intitute of Noetic Science.

All rituals science , artwork and monuments in this novel are real.
