Animation Dan Harmon's Rick and Morty

So we're getting a Beth centric episode. Man...when she gets a good line...it's killer. "Momma's coming sweetie. Momma's coming and she cares about your *******!" I ****ing lost it! :D

Gonna have to wait until I get home to see it but I liked the preview. I hope we get some backstory on Beth's relationship with Rick... Though I guess this actually isn't Rick's actual Beth but an alternate version.

Hmm... Summer knows that Rick and Morty aren't her original brother and grandpa. Is Beth aware of this though? I kinda wish they would explore that more.

I doubt Beth knows, not that it would make a difference. She has such an unhealthy obsession with keeping her father around, I honestly don't think she'd care what version he was. Hell, she'd probably be ok with Cronenberg Rick. :D

Well...that was...a weird ass episode. So,
Beth FINALLY realized her father is actually a piece of ****, and she's just like him making her a first rate *****. What decision do y'all think Beth made? Did she stay, or did she replace herself with a clone? And Jerry was...Jerry. He can't take responsibility for ANYTHING even at the expense of his children's safety. I honestly think this is the first episode that really tried to say something that just missed the mark. This is EASILY my least favorite episode of the entire series so far. Maybe on subsequent viewings I'll find things to appreciate about it, but as of right now...meh. It doesn't help that Beth is beyond uninteresting. Hopefully this marks some kind of change for her character because she desperately needs some growth. Her ******** has also sapped the season of larger quantities of Jerry, and come on?! Jerry is gold when he's on screen! Is Beth interesting enough to have her own daycare?! I think not! Anyway...this low point has me kinda nervous for next week, but hopefully the finale delivers.

This was an interesting episode that actually answered my question about Beth knowing about Rick not being her actual dad, somewhat unsatisfactory but pushed forward the relationship issues she has with her father. Also it kinda showed Jerry is still a part of the show despite the separation.

I love the mixture of goofy innocence and dark twisted perversion of this episode.

And it added some serious layers to both Beth and Rick with lots of potential in future episodes.

Beth, especially, needed some spice. So many episodes I questioned if she was Rick's actual daughter.

Now there's some exponential growth potential for Beth.

What do you mean if she was Rick's daughter? She's not technically THIS Rick's daughter because they are no longer in their original reality. That's been brought up previously, but Beth is absolutely A Rick's daughter. Beth absolutely needed to have an episode. She's without a doubt the least explored character, but this is still my least favorite episode so far. I just don't find Beth all that interesting I guess...at least not compared to everyone else.

I would include most of these as well.

My top 5:

Lawnmower Dog
Auto Erotic Assimilation
Big Trouble in Little Sanchez
The Rickshank Redemption
The Ricklantis Mix Up

Honorable Mention:

Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind
Totall Rickall/Morty Mindblowers
Get Schwifty/ Mr Meeseeks and Destroy
The Ricks Must Be Crazy
Pickle Rick

And I'm willing to bet the season 3 finale makes it in there somewhere.

Okay... I have to say I am really underwhelmed by that season ender. Sure... The general idea of [BLACKOUT]Rick having a strange pissing match with the POTUS is funny and executed well[/BLACKOUT] but this had none of the visceral fun and thrill from the ending of two and the beginning of three. If anything this felt like a mid season finale.

Apparently, this wasn't meant to be a season finale, but they couldn't finish the last four episodes of the season, so they just made it the season finale.

I still think it works, thematically. It's basically a huge flip from where Rick started at the beginning of the season. There was also a lot of good humor, which I missed from the previous episode.

I had a feeling that alot of people were gonna feel that way. I very much enjoyed it fir what it was, and it's actually a nice cap on the season when you compare it to the season opener. In that show Rick had forcefully taken over the role of patriarch. At the end, all that had changed, and in some ways, Rick got a little comeuppance. The direction they took their relationship with the President was really unexpected. "He treats us like Ghostbusters!" I assumed they were going to have a positive relationship, but not even the President can keep from getting on their nerves! It was GREAT to see Morty develop some backbone, and any excuse to have Keith David doing voicework on anything, I'm all for it. I know we're all disappointed that there was no resolution to the Evil Morty situation, and I'm super shocked they dealt with the Beth clone issue already. I thought they were gonna let that linger a bit longer. I will say that I think Mr. Poopy Butthole was telling us something about maybe having a big white beard next time we see him. I think we're gonna be seeing something around Christmas, even if it's just a Christmas special, and then we'll get some of those things we wanted to see in this finale. Maybe we'll find out that this Beth IS clone, and the real Beth returns. Idk, but on a side note, I'm honestly kinda disappointed that Beth and Jerry got back together. They had actually done some growth this season, but I'm afraid it was just wiped clean. They're gonna be right back to their hated ass selves because I think they'd rather be together and miserable then be alone. I've also developed a ton of Evil Morty theories after rewatching the entire show several times now. Who knows how long I'll be waiting on a resolution to that. Anyway...I enjoyed it, I think more than most of you did. Whenever y'all are up to discussing Evil Morty theories, let me know. :funny:

And you can thank me for getting this stuck in your heads later. You're welcome. :D

And this one I just love for some reason. Just listening to Justin Roiland ramble for 3 minutes playing with Chaos Chaos came out as something special. If this breaks some rules cause of the language let me know, so I can yank it. ;)

I quite enjoyed the episode. Sad the season was so short, but I'll live.

It's been 10 episodes except for the first season which had 11 including the pilot. I really wish we could get longer seasons, but if it's possible that could effect the quality. I'd rather have 10 amazing episodes then 14 hit or miss. I do really think we'll be getting something around Christmas based on Poopy Butthole's statement which would be so awesome!!!!

I really enjoyed the episode but it felt hollow as a finale. If the thing about them not finishing episodes was true, then I understand. I can hope though we’ll either get them as a Christmas special, via Mr. Poopy Butthole’s statement, but maybe if they were in production they could be like a half season next year instead of the usual nearly two year wait.

That's just too damn long of a wait man... I wonder if they knew just how long the wait would be last season. Mr. Poopy Butthole was off by literally 2 days. Does anyone know why it takes so long for this show? Have they come out and said what exactly it is that takes so long. On a side note, on a second viewing, I found this episode SO much funnier. Keith David was absolutely great as always, and the tiny little things like Morty's super nonchalant "mean" at the beginning of the episode cracked me up for some reason. This show has the ability to do that. There's ALWAYS some small little thing that I catch and can't stop laughing about on rewatches.

It's an expensive looking show running on Adult Swim's dime and time.

Basically Harmon and Roiland said they are too worried about putting forth their best work that they second guess everything and it gets behind schedule.

Adult Swim has always been pretty lax with having show runners create new seasons.

It's because re-runs of Family Guy, American Dad, Bob's Burgers, and King of the Hill consistently outperform most of their original shows. Not Rick and Morty, but most of the others.

Hey we've got three seasons at least. Not bad IMHO.
