Daniel Craig - right choice for 007?

James Bond can't be blonde!!!
Try explaining this

That's brown hair in the sunlight.

I don't care who says what. This guy isn't right for Bond.

Yeah, he's put a lot into this role, even losing his teeth.

That doesn't mean anything though. He just isn't right.

Oh, youve seen the movie? Do tell!

No, but I've seen every other Bond movie, and this guy has the wrong look.

But you havent seen this movie.

This. Youre saying he isnt right for the role because he doesnt look right. You mustve seen the movie to know he isnt right in the context of the film. Or else youre just not a fan of blondes, who play charismatic leads.

Maybe I just know that James Bond is a good looking spy and not a balding, wrinkly man and that no matter how good Craig is in this role, the movie could have been even better with attractive characters.

I don't need to see this movie to know that it has ugly characters. I can tell that by the cast list and a two-second Google Image search.

Ugly is subjective and its not always about looks. If youre calling Eva Green ugly then you need to get some glasses man. Daniel Craig isnt wrinly, its called rugged. And hes not balding either, he just chooses to cut his hair short. We have some top notch actors working on this, there are better looking actors yes, but id rather take talent over looks.

So would I, but there are british actors out there who are both more talented and attractive than Craig. The guy's rugged, but not in a handsome way, and this movie's going to take a lot of heat for that, both from commentary and the box office.

I dont know, I dont check out guys or anything but a lot of women seem pretty fond of him. Im not talking about celebrity women, even though hes had his share, I mean suburban housewives with internet connections. They offered the role to ever British actor they could and they all turned it down. I wonder, have you watched Layer Cake?

I unfortunately missed that one, but I've seen some of his other movies and he doesn't carry the charisma or the presense of the other Bonds. Casino Royale seems like it's trying to be "The Bourne" movies but Craig isn't even as cool as Matt Damon.

Matt Damon is cool? Either way the direction of the film isnt his fault. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Are you going to at least watch the film?

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Bond I'd most like to look like, aside from Connery, is Craig's. I think he's quite handsome and exudes an intense, raw masculinity that has been absent since Connery took his leave.

Furthermore, I don't know how you can say he's not handsome:

Craig's presence in MUNICH blew me away - he was just incredibly cool and charismatic. It was as if Steve McQueen had been reincarnated as a Brit. I think Craig can return some much needed presence and gravitas to the role with some genuine style after the hollow, "trying-to-be-cool-but-never-quite-getting-there" Brosnan Bond.

I hope he does good........however.....he's probably the ugliest Bond. Maybe 2nd to Dalton. No....I don't look at dudes that way......but Bond is a legenadary P.I.M.P., he's supposed to be a good looking dude. But, a trade here I suppose.

my only advice is to try to not think about it and then judge him on the film and his performance, that is what i and i have to say many many others are doing.if after that you still do not like it then at least you have grounds for your argument and no one can say you are wrong because it is based on your oppinion.

Yeah, that's true......judge when the film is released.

Til then though....it's fun to argue, though.

Craig *does* look good. He looks darn good. There's a raw masculinity and sex appeal there that really makes him stand out. (And you must be absolutely blind if you think Dalton was ugly.)

It always amazes me when people who slate Craig as not being Bond material say they haven't seen Layer Cake. Layer Cake is the prime reason why I (and a lot of others) think Craig will be a good Bond.

Go watch it and see if it changes your mind (even just a little).

I agree. Craig has this in spades. Raw masculinity and sex appeal is whats Bonds about - he doesnt necessarily have to look like a bloody male model!

I say possibly.
Give Daniel Craig a chance.

...Although I wanted Pierce Brosnan (Best James Bond) to finish his 5th movie before putting up the suit.

Snap. Prior to Layer Cake I only knew Daniel Craig from his amazing turn in Our Friends in the North (excellant series by the way) and wouldn't have thought of him as Bond for a second.

Then I saw Layer Cake, followed closely by Enduring Love. Layer Cake might as well have been subtitled 'Daniel Craig's audition to be James Bond'.

I've been saying Daniel should be Bond ever since then. He's easily the best actor of his generation, a generation that gave us the likes of Ewen McGregor, Rhy Ifans, Jude Law, Christopher Eccleston and Johnny Lee Miller. He'll be a great Bond.
