Justice League Danny Elfman Scoring Justice League - Part 1

Atleast I hope he updates his Batman theme for this modern iteration and doesnt just copy paste his old theme...

There isn't a doubt there'll be some modernization going on. His theme itself has quite a few variations too. It would be wise of him to keep the '89 theme while infusing "A Beautiful Lie" in there somewhere to please ALL the fans. Pretty sure it can be done, just how.

Yeah I'm willing to give him the benefit of doubt. I liked his Hero's theme. Would be a disappointment if its not modernized though.

As much as I adore Shirley Walker and her work, there is no BTAS theme without Danny Elfman. He may be an ******* but he created the definitive Batman theme, like it or not.

It transcends all mediums and can certainly transcend different iterations of the character.

With that being said, I need to hear more of the soundtrack, I’m dying here!

Btw going a bit off-topic here, but now that Elfman is part of the DCEU, I wonder if they'll get him to score the Gotham City Sirens movie. And if he's bringing back the theme to Batman '89, does that mean Catwoman's theme gets to return too? Because that's a pretty memorable tune as well. She hasn't gotten a good theme since Batman Returns.

He should score the origin film of The Joker. If it is indeed happening, that is.

Man, this is so retrograde and backwards. Just use 1943 Batman theme and 1948 Superman and god forbid you use something fresh in this new DC cinematic universe.

Forreal, the sheer disrespect being thrown at that man... :loco:

No one remembers those, that’s a weak point you’re trying to make.

We are talking about stuff that not only stands the test of time, but still remains beloved by all (well, most)

People hear that and they go “yup, that’s batman.”

I’m cool with whatever they do for the Bat. Just hope we get to hear the mos stuff.

I'd like to see someone try yelling that in a fully packed Star Wars theater lol.

I liked that Nolan didnt use the iconic B89 theme in his trilogy though. Thats how I got my favourite Batman theme. And we wouldnt have gotten the B89 Elfman theme, if they had used the popular 66 theme.

And yes I love the B89 theme...for the Keaton Batman. I dont see why it has to be used again.

Sorry. This is the last time I'm making this point.

Like I said, I’m cool if they wanna do a new theme for Batman and anyone else that isn’t WW or supes.

I get your point about the theme staying with it’s own intended iteration, I just think it’s bigger than that and could be used again if they want. Same with the Williams stuff.

Am I happy it’s back? Yes. Was I clamoring for it up until my last dying breath? Nah. I’m happy with it though.

The Elfman haters need to take a break from this thread. At least till the movie and soundtrack is released in two weeks Sheesh!

I bet a lot of Zimmer fanboys/girls having hissy fits about Elfman ditching Zimmer and Junkie’s Batman material. Weren’t complaining or bothered about Zimmer ignoring Horner’s Spidey theme (from TASM1) for TASM2. Even though he was scoring a direct sequel.

Anyways back on topic. I doubt Elfman would reprise his Batman theme if he couldn’t explore other ideas/variations that he didn’t with B89 or BR Hopefully he’ll deconstruct it for JL.

I enjoy it, but it never really lived up to Elfman or Walker’s work for me.

Great films with good soundtracks whereas the burton movies range from good/ok movies with amazing soundtracks (imo). I enjoyed Begins’ OST the most

Some people seem to think Elfman is just gonna copy/paste his theme from the CD and call it a day. Of course he's going to adapt it to this movie, that's what a composer does.

Let me ask this question... which theme is better, the Batman "theme" from BvS or Elfman's? I think most people would say Elfman's... so what's the problem? There is no problem as of now. If he botches it and makes it sound misplaced, that's another thing, but we don't know yet.

So far, I think Friends and Foes is a great track. It's been on repeat for days here.

We've discussed that. New Star Wars episodes are continuation of the same universe. Plus all the new characters get new themes. So I don't know what's your point...

^ Bond is a franchise..so it's technically the same character, though he was straight up rebooted for Casino Royale. SW is the same universe.

The biggest argument would be the Burtonverse theme and Batman TAS. But that wasn't a part of a major film franchise (even though it had some movies-only one made it to theaters, and only briefly.)

I'm not disappointed..I just feel like the approach is "NOSTALGIA SHEILD" rather than..'what fits the universe and tone of the characters best?'

I do want to hear the classic Elfman theme, but not when Batman is adjusting his cape or whatever :P

The bond thing is more like the exception, rather than the "rule". But I think both sides have made their point...Lets see how it works. Might just work surprisingly well.

You guys are never going to convince each other - it’s just a bunch of wasted energy.

He's not going to convince me that we're never going to convince each other.

Im betting that GCS will have the same composer as SS if Ayer is still attached. Which isn’t great news.

As for Catwoman she had my favorite theme in TDK trilogy if I’m being honest. I just listened to it last night.
