The Batman Beyond/Superman scene BH is referring to, for those curious.

All Elfman needs to do is to give us an updated version of this ^, the Williams' tune and tune from Justice League animated. Follow in the footsteps of huge properties like Star Wars, James Bond and Mission Impossible, they never stray far from the original theme because they would be missing a huge marketing opportunity to do so. Imagine meshing those three all time iconic themes together with Wonder Woman's new theme... if that in itself doesn't bump up reviews by 1 or 2 marks, I don't know what will.

Did Elfman specifically say the Williams Theme is what he's incorporating?
I was thinking that given the (rumored) circumstances in which it may be used, it could be music that Williams included in the 78 film, but not necessarily the main theme?
Like in the episode of Smallville when Chris Reeve guest starred & Clark found out about Krypton for the 1st time?

Nope, it's the main theme. From Elfman himself:

There are a few little fan moments. I instated a moment of the Wonder Woman theme that Hans Zimmer did for Batman Vs. Superman, but I also had two minutes where I had the pleasure of saying, “Let’s do John Williams’ Superman.” and that for me was heaven, because now I have a melody to twist, and I’m using it in an actually very dark way, in a dark moment. It’s the kind of thing that some fans will notice. Some won’t. It’s a moment where we’re really not sure whose side he’s on.

Smallville did a good job of weaving some JW music in two episodes during season 2 without it being overbearing. There was the FOS theme playing in the background with Clark and Dr. Swann and then a few bars of the main theme at the very end of the episode. Towards the end of another episode there was the Planet Krypton theme to close out a cliffhanger with Clark entering his barn as it lit up. Both were effective.

That's what I was thinking of. I would welcome something like that as Clark is awoken from his coma.

It sounds like we're getting some form of the main theme. Perhaps more than once.

Re-watched Superman Returns over the weekend (wife was away). Would love to hear the Williams theme incorporated somehow - the perfect music for accompanying heroic moments!!

Da Elf GAWDDDDDDDDDD distributing those delectable member berries all over town

Love that man

I just wonder why he used twisted Williams theme instead of twisted Zimmer's theme. Does not make any sense to me.

I actually hope he reprises his Flash theme for some kick ass Barry moment.

Holy cow I forget about that theme, if he could somehow modernise it it could be the Flash theme for the DCEU.

Elfman admitted to being asked to rewrite the Batman theme for Flash; pretty sure we're getting a new one.

"Superman Returns" has its faults for sure, but the scene where his boots press up against the glass of the sinking ship and you see his chest logo come into view with the theme playing as he raises the ship still gives me goosebumps. The Williams theme can still be epic if used correctly.

Hell yeah! That’s the best piece of music in the film too and despite what one might think of the film the score is wonderful.

It was used in at least 3 episodes in season 2. I honestly wish they kept using it throughout the rest of the series. They used it just when the show was getting so good, then it wasn't heard once in season 3. This is another reason I want to hear John Williams' Superman theme in Justice League. I hope it's not simply done in just a dark way, and we get to hear more of the main theme itself, without it being twisted.

William's theme is more synonymous with the older generation of Superman fans. If WB is smart, they'll use both tunes at different points in the movie to please both groups.

I expect both themes. Zimmer and Williams.
