The Symbiote theme was so cool (I look forward to adding it to my 360 & Ipod ) When The score Soundtrack is released .

It was pretty awesome :woot:

I have a feeling I will be flagged for saying this, but I thought that Young's theme for symbiote spidey felt more like Batman's theme than the theme that Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard used for Batman Begins (lol maybe because it used a lot of cues and such from Elfman's batman theme :oldrazz: ). It was dark, with some heroism on the side, and that's what Batman's theme should be like. It also suited Symbiote Spidey well, but one little nit pick is that it was a bit too heroic sounding with the trumpets, but gosh it was great, not as masterful as Elfman's work, but it did what it had to do pretty well.

just my two cents

Bottom line, for me: Elfman's score was exciting, Young's was not. I barely even noticed that there WAS music during SM3 when Elfman's music wasn't being used. Really, when Elfman's music wasn't playing, the only music worth noting was the very Batman-ish music seemingly ripped from Elfman's previous work.

EDIT: I replied from the first page, and did not read the post above mine. Nice to see that others agree.

The symbiote theme reminded me of something from a circus, possibly the worst circus in the world!! Sandman's theme was passable, please bring back Elfman for 4!!

WHAT WAS UP WITH THE JAZZY MUSIC IN THE HARRY PETER FIGHT SCENE??? and i liked the music during the climax with VENOM

Elfman, no contest. His music can just get me to have goosebumps. And the opening credits music...So beautifuly done.

You can listen to a track from the Christopher Young film score here called "Harry Attacks Peter". http://www.officialchristopheryoung.com/music.html Just scroll from left to right until you see the Spider-Man 3 artwork & click on it & then press play down at the bottom.
is there anyway to rip that one off the site finallly some of the spidey 3 score surfacing online and its not downloadable.

Elfman definitely! Young was alright, but some of the music sounded awful in certain scenes. What was up with that music during the second fight between Peter and Harry?

Chris Young's score was realllyyy awful. The entire scene lifts up when Elfman's theme plays in the background, especially in the final battle royal scene where Spider-Man makes his appearance.

I think the score was one of the unheralded great points about Spider-Man 2.

I've only seen the movie once, thus far, but I can say that I only really remember the Elfman theme music. I'm not sure why but I didnt' pay attention to the music, I was just concentrating too hard I guess, LOL. I'm going again to see it on Saturday, I'll pay attention to the music this time.

Elfman needs to retire from scoring films and stick to doing Mythbusters.

he does mithbusters?? cool...
He has Adam Savage mixed up with Danny Elfman, although I have always thought they looked similar.

I have it, but I dont know where i could upload it to. But all I did to download it was use an extension for Firefox called Download Helper and then just saved it as an MP3 file.

I'll say in retrospect the Sandman theme Young composed is quite good. Especially during his birth scene and when and Peter have their final confrontation after the Battle Royale at the end. But he could not use Elfman's themes in the same magical epicc scope Elfman did in the first two and the Symbiote/Venom theme sucked. And the use of Elfman themes was welcomed but something was notably missing as it lacked the freshness of how Elfman could mannipulate the themes (like when Peter watches MJ with Jameson at the end of SM2 and swings off looking longingly).

Though I must admit the use of the Peter Parker theme when Harry Osborn died was well done, as was the Pete/MJ theme at the end of the movie.

Venom's theme ROCKED!!! I actually have doubts if Young composed it considering the averageness of the rest of the score (save for Sandman's theme - not it's orchestration). I really missed elfman in the film though :csad:

what composer would leave spiderman 3 for some movie about a talking pig..(very touching movie by the way.)

my friends, is there any news about the release of the score cd? or just won´t happen

LOL @ the handful of people who voted for Young's score.

While I was dissapointed in the lack of epic intensity that Young's score provided, some of his works were not that bad.

The Birth of Sandman truly had a beautiful, mysterious score playing in the background. I'm sure Elfman could have created something even more grander, but Young should get some credit for at least a few of the pieces that he did do.

My major beef is that the score had a lack of triumphant power that Elfman's scores had. It seemed like Young had a smaller orchestra to work with because when i saw the spiderman 3, the volume of the score was really low and pulled me out of the film.

^I noticed that in a few cases the mixing of the score was really off, especially when the theme is played when Spider-Man swings into the construction site during the climax. For some reason, it felt oddly soft.

The only good thing about Rami possiblly not doing a SM4 would be Elfman maybe wanting to come back to do the music.

I'm going to say young, why

best action theme - train/clock tower - young
I've heard the elfman version and it SUCKS
also the GG2 theme (young) was excellent too.

best emotional piece - birth of sandman - young

and there you have it, two ends of the spectrum and young produced the best themes although I'll conceed everything else for SM3 was rubbish LOL!
