Daredevil 2

It was shown as a failure BO wise because it was the first comic movie released after Spider-Man. Hell I even heard Spider-Man comments as I left the theater with people trying to draw parallels.

Didn't make spidey numbers. So it was a failure. Course even none superhero movies have fallen into the "didn't make 200 million, it's a dud"

I honestly doubt that.

But what I seriously doubt is the moving making more money if it was to be released over the summer.

You honestly doubt what? It's true. I've read plenty of articles when DD came out with some that flat out said "spidey numbers" It's sad. Come out in the summer? No it would have died if it came out in the summer.

In case you haven't noticed that's what I've been saying.

Depends, if they released it before Hulk right after x2 and upped the advertisement budget I think it could have easily open 50mil plus?? It arguably had a bigger name actor than any previous marvel film.

I doubt they're going to even make a DD2. But if they do, please kep MSJ and Afflack away from it.

Dag there might be another DareDevil movie where was I not to get this news.

As I said before, Ben Affleck was a good Matt Murdock but he was a terrible Daredevil.

The stylized action violence was similar to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I suggest they change that next time around.

They crammed every one of Miller's Daredevil stories into the film and thus the film suffered from it.

I loved DD, and hope that a sequel is made. I've also loved the Spiderman films which are coming to a close on the third film (or so I've heard).

So, a DD sequel with Spidey?

I never saw DareDevil 1, the trailers just didnt appeal to me either.

Ben just didn't look like a Daredevil type I guess /shrug.

But I do have a nice collection of DD comics (old ones)

You should at least rent the Directors cut.

I hope they cast different actor as Daredevil/Matthew Murdock, I didn't like Ben Afleck in the role.

Daredevil's box office was in the grey area where the studio isn't quite sure whether it's worth it to make a sequel. If Elektra had been a hit Fox probably would've been amenable to making Daredevil 2, but they, rightly or wrongly, saw Elektra's failure as reason to give up on a continuation of Daredevil.

If they do make a DD2, they need a director with vision, not some ****ing hack with a hardon for wire-fu fighting.
Let's see some gritty action violence in a crime drama/action film with a Daredevil that takes no prisoners and a Kingpin that actually appears menacing.

There should be a sequel. DD was by far better than Fantastic 4 and they're doing a sequel. I m not a fan of affleck but he should be back ......... i heard he was very dedicated to the role and thats a good sign. Change that GOD AWFUL SUIT!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think Mark Steven Johnson is that bad of a director, especially since everyone seems to love the Directors Cut of the movie. It's just when the studio steps in and makes lame demands (PG-13 rating, more Elektra, less Daredevil) that the movie ends up sucking.

Let's see...we get an Elektra spin-off (Sexy female) and an FF4 sequel (sexy female) and Catwoman (sexy female)

Stupid studios. Though I haven't seen FF4. I have no intention of doing so either.

That PG-13 movie has killed so many movies for me (Transporter, Walking Tall, DD, MI2) yet these movies seem to have done well overall albeit various degrees of success.

Watch the directors cut, dude. The extended fights rock especially the one against kingpin. Sides the fight in the bar was great. Its just a pity they didn`t have the fighting from the kingpin and bar fights in the bullseye one. Wait too much cheap cgi in that one, they should have just had a standard gritty slugfest.

Would Ben Affleck want to do it again? and who would be the villian!?

I totally agree with the last sentence. Marvel tried to cram too much into the movie. DD isn't the only Marvel movie to have this problem. Spidey 1 and X-3 were flawed for the same reason. A lot of the classic stories in the comics don't translate well to the bigscreen in a two hr movie that also has to contain an origin story or share the spotlight with another storyline.

Too make matters worse, the director was forced to release an edited version to the theaters. I haven't seen the director's cut yet. I intend to. From what I've heard, it makes the movie a whole lot better.

DD would've been better served if the whole Elektra angle had been dropped and saved for a future film...or if the longer version was used to better explore the story.

Marvel need to get the rights back off Fox then hire Frank Miller to write and direct a Daredevil restart.

I don`t think a restart is neccesary. Especially with the director`s cut released. There is little that needs changing. The only gripe i have is bullseye`s lack of a costume. And that can simply be solved by giving him the mask the next time he turns up in the franchise.

I agree with you. The next film should just pick up where this one left off. I think you're dead on about the costume. Bullseye's garb would look pretty good on the bigscreen b/c of the basic black/white color scheme.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I think a literall by the book interpretation of "Born Again" would be a huge mistake. If that story was used for a DD TV series over the course of a season it could be compelling. If you put the exact story on the bigscreen with a 2hr running time it would bore people and they'd leave saying "that was boring" or "we need more action" I have no problem with Fisk trying to get back at Murdock, but a lot of the other elements would have to be left out.

If the tone is as dark and dreary as the original, it'd make less money than the original and probably kill the franchise. I don't think the general public wants to watch a supeheroflick where the villian systematically destroys the hero and drives him to the brink of insanity.

A sequel should definitely be made, and Ben Affleck should also be back, there was nothing wrong with his performance. In fact there was nothing wrong with anyones performance, the Kingpin should of had more screen time, and Bullseye should of had a costume, but other than that everything was dead on.

The fight scenes were awesome, no complaints at all, can't say the same for Batman Begins.

I can't wait for DD2!

The only thing wrong with Daredevil was they released the wrong cut to theatres.

I hope they hurry up and make a sequel because I think the Directors cut is one of the very best superhero movies ever made. Bring on all new villians and get started!!

My thoughts exactly.
