Kingpin is a character who worked his way up the ranks by being ruthless, both intellectually and physically. Now that he's at the top, he doesn't have to get his hands dirty anymore, but he's still physically dangerous. When Kingpin has to throw down, the audience should get the feeling they're about to see some serious badassery. Otherwise, he's just any other mob boss.

You could always use a smaller actor and make Fisk a visual effect.

Duncan was a bad choice for Kingpin.

Personally, I'd go with the Owl or somebody as the main antagonist, with Kingpin in the background.

I got an interesting pick for Daredevil: Sam Witwer. And here's a shot of him with sunglasses.

Could the Owl carry a whole movie though, its not like he had a whole lot of epic or even memorable stories in the comic.

I think Owl would work best in a gang war story, where he is fighting Kingpin for control of the city. However if the story of the movie is based on "Born Again" Kingpin would have to be the villain.

After seeing people on this board suggest Michael C. Hall for Matt Murdock/Daredevil, I watched a few videos to see what all the fuss was about.

Needless to say, I'm down with that choice.

Man if he hadn't already been wasted in a terrible Punisher movie, and in Thor, Ray Stevenson would be such a good Kingpin. He's like 6'4, a great actor, and very intimidating. Put some padding on him, and he's a badass Kingpin.

He was Volstagg, one of the Warriors Three. They had him in a fat suit and a fake beard. So, it's not like people would recognize him as Kingpin.. but should once actor play 3 Marvel characters?

Sure, I don't think it's an issue if his other two movies aren't cannon to this, or to each other
DareDevil rights still with Fox?

So I read up on the making of Daredevil (2003) and I have to say that I gained a lot of respect for Mark Steven Johnson. The guy really wanted to direct a Daredevil movie, and he worked his ass off twice to get it. First he managed to get the job while the rights to the character were with Sony, but then Sony lost the rights and Fox got them, and he had to start back at square one. That must have taken a lot of dedication and hard work. For that, I tip my hat to you, Mr. Johnson.

Sad that his work was mostly received unpleasant

Eh, the more I think about it, the more I think I'd like Clancy Brown to play the Kingpin. He has such an intimidating presence and commanding voice. I mean, he's voiced Lex Luthor, Mr. Sinister, among others. On-screen, he's a great character actor (The Shawshank Redemption, Carnivale, The Hurricane, Highlander) who rarely gets the opportunity to shine like he would as Fisk. And, he's 6'4.

That's great that he's 6'4". Now make him 300 pounds and bald and we'll talk.

Or an old boot.

Either way, you'll get the same result.

Dedication or no, I didn't care for the quality of his work.

I have a lot of respect for Mark as well. I thought the director's cut was awesome!

I agree. Daredevil is such a badass character and deserved a much better representation.
With a cast that can deliver quality performances, aside from Garner, I didn't understand why it came together so poorly.
