Though Fox has no plans for a major overhaul, the studio has scheduled a strategy meeting to assess the status of its superheroes, a group sorely missed this summer. On the agenda, Fox will mull the possibility of more "X-Men" spinoffs, including a young-X-Men project as well as "Deadpool," based on a character played by Ryan Reynolds in "Wolverine." The studio is even considering reviving the "Daredevil" property.

Fox is mulling returning to The Man Without Fear, and while there's not been a specific statement that a new film would be a reboot, it seems almost inevitable. The original Daredevil didn't set the box office on fire, and it certainly wasn't well received. And there's almost no chance that Ben Affleck, who has begun an artistically successful directing career, will redon the horns, and it's even more doubtful that the studio would want him back.

Note that this is all essentially speculation; the information comes from a Variety article talking about Fox's ****ty, ****ty summer and an in-house meeting on how to make movies that people want to see. On that agenda is more superhero movies, Daredevil among them.

The original Dardevil is a pretty bad film, and it really seems to miss the point of the character (he kills a guy!), but do we actually need a reboot? I certainly hope that this meeting doesn't end up with the studio getting behind yet another origin story - just remind us of the character and his world in the opening credits and move along.

The real problem for Dardevil, though, is that his film rights remain at Fox. As the Variety article points out, Fox remains the single least talent friendly studio in Hollywood, and the recent spate of filmmaker-driven superhero successes proves that a top down, Rothman-heavy tact probably won't make for a good movie.

So, what do you think? Any ideas?

Plenty of ideas.

Expecting disappointment if it gets made.

You don't like the character or you don't think they can get it right..?

I like the character. I know Fox will not get it right.

Did you see what they did to hm last time? They haven't learned a damn thing since then.

I know, I know. I was just.. encouraging conversation (whaa?)

I like the Frank Miller idea. But I do not like the idea of him filming it like Sin City or the Spirit. I wanna see a serious, Elektra-less, remake but Fox will have a campy, underachieving PG-13 "okay...but less than I expected" movie.

I welcome a new Daredevil film with open arms. (I'm one of the few who have been a fan since the theatrical cut.)

Have you seen the director's cut..?

Let's all hope that Fox finally takes there thick heads out of the ground and looks at how successful the WB and Marvel Films movies have done by respecting the material.

Have you seen the director's cut..?
I own it. I should also mention that as much as I'd like another movie, I don't like the fact that FOX has the rights, 'cause then Rothman can do what he wants with it.

I own that one too :woot:

About the rest.. yeah.. fear the Rothman :yellow:

Let's keep our collective heads up guys. Every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.

I would love to see Daredevil done right on the big screen. But the chances of that happening if the rights remain with Fox are slim to none.

Does anyone know for how long will FOX own these rights..?

probably ends soon which why this is even brought up.

Fox follows money, so they'll probably follow The Dark Knight idea, tone wise

I say just do the Born Again story. Screw a reboot.

Fox won't ever make a good movie out of DareDevil because the studio is still being run by a ******.

I am very excited for a new Daredevil film. I would hope that it wouldn't fail though.

the way max payne looks would be a cool look for a new dare devil film

Chris Pine(smoking aces/Star Trek) would be a cool Daredevil

Chris Pine as Daredevil? I dont think I can see that one.

Daredevil is pretty much my favorite character. I would very much love another go at a DD film.

That said....FOX.:csad:
