Why did Daredevil 03 and FF 05 fail?

2015 Doom was more of a throwaway villain. He wore a trashbag, after all, that just invited him to be thrown away with the trash. :o

I don't think Elektra should have been killed in that film. It should have been strictly a DD/Kingpin centric film focusing more on Matt's origin and his turn as DD. They stuffed Elektra's death by the hands of Bullseye from a classic story in the first film. To early for that. Could have been setup much better but its rushed. I would have had another villain serving Kingpin's interests.

Yes if DD had led to a direct sequel I'd rather have seen Death of Elektra handled there.

Daredevil 03 failed for me because the directors cut wasn't shown as the cinema release, there was a hacked version shown. The DC version of DD is a vastly superior (completely different perspective of the film) version. If they'd released the Director's cut version, there'd been no such problem.

FF 05 failed because as if with every incarnation of the series, I think it's a hard story and difficult concept to pull off unless you buy into the 60's pre-moon landing concept and aesthetic, I would suggest you need to set it in the era they launched, trying to produce a 'modern day' take on it does not work in the era of exploratory / tech savy world we live in these days. Plus, the year before release, The Incredibles was released which is the best FF film, on could ever release.

Second this.

I know certain fans pump up extended cuts too much, but Daredevil is a case where I really do think the biggest problem was the cut of the film they released in theaters. It isn't just a few extra scenes cut or some censoring to avoid an R rating, they cut out the whole main plot of the film! Daredevil is a story about Matt Murdock taking up the investigation of a murdered prostitute and having it eventually lead to taking down the most important and dangerous criminal boss in the city. None of that made it into the TC, so we are left with the flimsy skeleton of a story and an ending that doesn't make any sense.

Fantastic Four had awful casting, especially Jessica Alba.
