DareDevil

Once the Omega arc ends they still have the Black Cat to come back to. She's in hiding for not helping the bad guys against Matt. Waid is gonna have Matt start getting involved with that ADA chick, so I'm sure she'll pop up then.

I haven't seen any of the DD issues as filler. The Omega Drive arc hasn't been finished yet, but I'm glad to see that Waid has long-term story arcs going on at the same time as his shorter, 1 or 2 issue stories. It means he's sticking with the book for a long time, not trying to write some 6 or 12 issue "defining" epic (like so many writers try to do :whatever:) then passing the buck.

It's rare to see anybody writing a book for longer than a year now. It's a good thing to see Waid's writing reflect that he's invested long-term.

Really? What about Sydner on Detective/Batman, Bendis on the multiple Avengers titles, Slott on Spider-Man, Hickman on FF, Remender on Venom, Morrison on Batman, Gage on Avengers Academy, Brubaker on Captain America, Johns on GL, Jeff Parker on Hulk, Remender on Uncanny X-Force, Bendis on Ultimate Spider-Man and Peter David on X-Factor?

And those are just the books I read. :o

I know, right? Brubaker has been writing Captain America for 6 years now I believe. Bendis has been writing Ultimate Spider-Man for...what...over a decade now?

Slott, if you want to be technical, has been on Amazing Spider-Man since Brand New Day. That's been over 5 years now or so. And if you want to just go from Big Time it's been over a year and a half, easily going to be going on 2 years. Not to mention that he's writing two issues a month.

I'm sure there are more as well. :oldrazz:

Bendis is about 8yrs, Bru is at 7yrs and Slott is 2 as solo writer of ASM, 2 as the main rotation for a total of 4yrs. Hickman has been on FF about 3 or 4yrs I think.

so, I've got a question. DD used the Omega Drive to take down Black Spectre by uploading all the info to the Daily Bugle's servers, and tipping the cops to all of the illegal info on there.

Why didn't he just do that for all of the organizations? Seems like a pretty quick, clean way to take 'em all down.

I was pretty surprised by the ending. I figured there would be something more definite regarding the Omega disc.

yeah, the weakest issue of the 3 part crossover was the final issue, which was actually in Daredevil. The Spider-Man and Punisher issues were awesome. The art was really top notch.

There's still plenty to the Omega Drive story.

I didn't think it was all that weak. I was still very pleased by the Omega Effect. Hopefully it boosts the sales on the Punisher's book a bit and stretches out it's life span.

The thing that made it weak was that nothing really progressed the plot at all. The characterization and all was great, but DD's pretty much right back where he was in #10. It just kinda made the whole crossover seem pointless.

Exactly. It was awesome seeing all three of them interact, and they did a wonderful job with that. But the entire crossover was really nothing more than a sidetrack to what Daredevil has to do with the device.

Apparently he has a plan now, though.

But can anyone answer my question? Why didn't DD just leak all of the organizations' info like he did Black Spectre's?

Daredevil had a deal with the factions: none of them would off him since it was all of their information. They wouldn't be happy with the other factions if they tried to steal it. But the Black Spectres didnt agree so they sent someone to steal it (I think). Daredevil leaked the Spectre's info and the organization got taken down the sole Spectre got killed by the other faction members...

The Black Spectres hired the Black Cat and she turned on them. She went into hiding, so now that they're gone she should be back soon.

That would be sweet, I love Mike Allred's art.

isn't Martin leaving the book? If he's replaced with Allred...oh, man.

Yeah, Martin is leaving to do more creator-owned work. Allred would be a fantastic replacement but it sounds like he has some projects lined up so I'll settle for an issue. Nick Dragotta would work too.

He's most famous for Madman and X-Force/X-Static with Peter Milligan.

I really need to pay more attention to the letters page. Allred would fit into DD's current style PERFECTLY.
