DareDevil

Do we know what kind of projects Allred is doing? I'd love to see him on a superhero comic again.

No idea, he has a few things lined up after iZombie and hopefully announces them soon.

I need to read that old X-Statix book. It's been on my to-read list for a loooong time.

I love Nick Dragotta. He didn't really do anything for me initially, but about two issues into Vengeance I started really appreciating his work.

Awesome.

Allred needs to do a superhero comic regularly.

I'm excited for it. I haven't seen much of Allred's art in a while, and it'll be especially awesome for the tone Waid's given his run on Daredevil.

I've been enjoying Allred's art for the past 25 months in iZombie. :o

This latest issue really shows how much art can affect a book. I think I would've liked it a lot more if there were a good artist on it.

Ahhhhh, CRAP! I was just reading Dread's column over at the Examiner and saw the news from earlier in the week that Paolo Rivera is leaving DD and Marvel. He said he's still going to do covers from time to time but he's not going to be exclusive to them.

This is a pretty big loss. He's one of their top artists if you ask me.

So, this is basically another in the line of "The End" books much like Wolverine: The End and Punisher: The End.

Probably... I think this was supposed to come out around 2008... :o

I'm not saying that I don't like stories that are important. I'm saying that too many writers try and be important and fail by dragging a story out too long.

DD is refreshing because it isn't trying to be important, it's trying to be entertaining and it's succeeding. At least, it is with me.

So you're saying it's written like old school comics? I have to pick it up.

The End was supposed to come out when I was in high school. Now I'm 23, and any excitement I had for it is sufficiently dead. Way to **** that one up, Marvel.

I was at a local market today and this guy had a huge collection of imported comics (I live in Sweden so I guess they were from USA). A bunch of different DC comics, Marvel, Star Wars and a lot of stuff that I've never seen before.
I only got one copy and ended up with a Daredevil one. It was a collection of sorts with a lot of different issues from Frank Miller. So far I'm really liking it and I've never read a DD comic in my life before.

Other tremendous runs are by Ann Nocenti, Karl Kesel, Kevin Smith, Brian Michael Bendis and Ed Brubaker. The current run being written by Mark Waid has been excellent too.

Thought I might try to re-activate this discussion so to speak, is everyone still liking Waid's run on DD?
I have to say I was really shocked when
Foggy was diagnosed with cancer
but I think it's a brilliant story decision, it's really a great mix of the dark DD that most people are used to along with the lighter DD we got at the start of the series.

I like it more now that it's gotten a darker tone. When it was all happy-go-lucky in the beginning I didn't like it. But now it's one of my favorite books

Still enjoying it, but I really enjoyed Lee Weeks' first three issues of Daredevil: Dark Nights. Haven't seen many talking about it either, so I'd like to throw it out there as worth getting (at least the first three issues; creative team switches with #4 next month).

I also thought this past issue of Daredevil proper (#29) was the weakest of Waid's run so far. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you, as even a weak issue of this series is still better than most.
