DareDevil

If I ever see Liefeld on Daredevil I probably would crack some skulls. That's a justifiable real life killing spree.

Oh, I'm not worried.....just kinda saddened. I think he's doing an outstanding job.

I don't see the 2 guys you mentioned coming to the book for reasons even more disparaging.....Marvel seems to love those guys (especially Land) and would rather put them on a "bigger" book. Basically, I feel that Marvel doesn't care about this book as much as it does other books. Sad to say but I think there's truth in it.

Clay Mann, the guy that was formerly doing Gambit, is now out there. If Samnee truly is gone, I would LOVE for him to be on the book.
Mann's pretty good. I really wish Clayton Henry would come back and do some stuff at Marvel. Not necessarily Daredevil, but something. I loved him on Incredible Hercules and, more recently, Valiant's Archer & Armstrong.

How so?
Daredevil #185-191, #219, Daredevil: Love & War samt What If? #28
I believe these are the issues inside the book.

Well, those are the last issues of Frank Miller's run so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

Yeah probably. I prefer not to go digital. I have a lot of comics on my PC but I don't like reading them on a screen.
It might be my only choice though, we'll see.

Well, more good news....

Bleeding Cool posted a pic of the letter column from today's issue of DD that confirms that the book is ending in February with issue #35.

The relaunch machine continues......f***ing c*******ing Marvel. :wall:

How else could they justifiably up the price to $4 if not with a new #1 :awesome:

I was thinking about dropping the book, but I might see it through to the end if it's ending in February. That's only 5 more issues.

While people are loving Waid's run (and I can see why), I'm not enjoying it near as much. I hope they get someone new writing it with a slightly darker tone. It doesn't have to be all DEATH AND GLOOM, but a slightly darker feel fits Daredevil better than this light poppy stuff. I think Waid's run was at his best toward the end of his first major story with Bullseye. It wasn't overly dark but just dark enough to fit the Daredevil feel.

It's not because of sales, they are fine. It sounds like Waid has told all the stories he wanted to with the character and is just moving on.

Marvel is just taking the opportunity to be greedy again.

This was my favorite comic to read, devastated that it's ending. But I guess it's better to end on a high than a low.

Hawkeye (and hopefully Silver Surfer) it is!

I think Waid's work is stronger when he's contained to medium-sized runs anyway. It's been 3 years, he's told some great stories. Now I'm just looking forward to whatever he picks up next.

That ticks me off...just get a new writer for the next issue, this relaunch stuff is ridiculous. I liked DD getting to issue 380... Greedy Bastiches

Steph Wacker said it was old school to want a series to have at least 50 issues.

Yeah until after they relaunch a book for the 20th time and completely alienate new readers. Because that's where it's heading, if it's already not there now...

Don't worry. Once it reaches another milestone issue they'll go back to renumbering to have something like Daredevil #650 or whatever it's at now.

Well, those are the last issues of Frank Miller's run so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

Well apparently they released another Miller collection called Daredevil Visionaries which is pretty much identical to the one I am looking for, but it's missing two issues or something. So I'm just gonna snatch that one instead and my Miller collection will be near complete.

Just read the newest issue, I've gotta say, I was underwhelmed... kinda dull, rushed, and pointless. I expect more from the DD creative team. Oh well, maybe it was just some Halloween filler with the "Monsters" in this small 2 issue arc. i know it sorta connects to the whole S.O.S. stuff, i thought it was kinda forced.

So with Waid and Samnee's Daredevil getting cancelled, it's now being replaced with Daredevil by Waid and Samnee......wait, what?

Yeah, I just saw that.

Daredevil moving to sunny San Francisco. Yay!

:barf:

So a book that I didn't care for the feel of is going even further in that direction (seemingly) by the same writer who didn't impress me for a buck more? Oh, and the beginning of this shift begins not in the comic, but in a digital comic.

And people wonder why I get so annoyed at Marvel these days. It's amazing how quickly they can make a fan dislike a former favorite title. 1 issue of OMD ruined over a decade of Spider-Man for me. It took about 3 issues of Waid's Daredevil to turn me off of that one. X-Men's been a slower burn, but primarily it was the last issue of Morrison's run. For Avengers it was about 4 or so issues of Hickman's title. Etc.

I've gone from buying nearly everything a few years ago to buying only X-Men books and New Avengers (once Young Avengers ends... which I was debating on dropping anyway), and none of those are safe from being dropped either.

I actually like Waid's Daredevil, but I was also hoping for a creator and/or tonal shift for the book. That's not new for me, either. As good as Bendis's run was, I was elated when he finally announced he was leaving the title. I just think that too much of anything gets stale after a while.

I wish Rucka would get a go at Daredevil. Honestly, "The Omega Effect" crossover has been the high point of this volume for me.

I want to see Williams III do art on Daredevil, but he wouldn't fit Waid's brighter tone.

You know who I think would do a decent job, though he's still a newbie.... I think his name is Edmonton or something like that. He did Grifter when it relaunched in the New 52, and I think he's doing the new Black Widow series. I think he did Who Is Jake Ellis? I'd love to see him and Williams III get a go at it.
