Darksiders

Well once you get the gun, that part of gameplay comes into it. I'm a bit further now, and totally digging it. The art design, the story, the whole thing is rad. It's like a really good fantasy graphic novel.

@Chelsea,
Come on man, that puzzle is Zelda 101 lol. Use the bombs to access the switches, raise the blue glowy things and hit em with your glaive.

I figured it out. It was just the second one where you had to line up the sticky bombs then set off the chain reaction that confused me. Alot of it was lack of sleep and the fact that I never played much Zelda.

Lol oh yeah, I liked that bit, puzzle wise. If it was Zelda, they would spelled it out a bit more for you.

What do you think so far? I'm just in the third area, about to get to the temple, and i'm really really worried that i'm nearly finished it lol. I heard it was a good, 15 hour game, and all the comparisons to Zelda made me think it would be fairly epic (with Twilight Princess having 6 Temples), but judging by the map, I have a horrible feeling that after this temple then its straight to the final boss.

Hopefully not though, I mean, I haven't even got a horse yet.

Check your trophy/achievement completion percentage. You can get all of them playing through Hard once.

Have you done the part where you fly on winged creatures?

Yeah, the flying level is just before the first temple.

I was watching my girlfriend play the game earlier, and it really does have some beautiful deisgn. I love how the arcane, fantasy style is twisted around a modern city. It really is quite awesome. It's a shame it didn't make it into 2009, because it easily would have been a strong contender for Best IP of the year (yes, rivalling Batman lol).

I'm really enjoying it so far. Granted I was never a Zelda fan so puzzles are't my strong suit. I do love the combat and creature designs though. Definitely an epic feel to it.

:lmao:

That's so true. Though the similarities between Dante's Inferno and God of War are so obvious that even a blind man could see them.

BTW, that'd be an awesome alternate costume for War or Link.

I completed the first dungeon. Here's my quick thoughts:
1) The design of the world, monsters, angels and pretty much everything is downright cool. This is obvious for me because i love Joe Mad's style alot. :D Really loving the Angels being hi-tech and the Demons are downright nasty.
2) Gameplay is fun too, still trying to master it i'm being abit sloppy with blocking and whatnot. Those fire demons (the big fat jolly ones) are a PITA. :(
3) Liking the voice acting of the characters alot.

So yeah liking this so far!

I hate those fat fire ones, too. I wish you didn't have to stand still to block, would make things more easier.

I was playing on Apocalyptic but the blue demon with the fire gauntlets you fight on the way to Vulgrim takes away half your life bar with one hit. I re-started on Normal.

Don't feel bad, i also decided to restart on Normal. :D It takes abit of a while to get used to the controls, theres just so much to do!

I just beat the first dungeon. None of the puzzles were frustrating but not overly simple. I did enjoy one where you had to make a chain of bombs. I also like how they had a subtle puzzle you may miss (had to light all the torches in one room to get a treasure).

There's a bit too much fighting. Maybe I'm not used to it but I'm taking a lot of damage so I always need to carry a life essence on me. Having to stay still to block is annoying and I haven't pulled off a counter (or tried really). That said, having the Scythe and Crossblade makes it easier now. It's really annoying when you only have the Chaoseater in the beginning. I use the Harvester when I run into common enemies to get more souls and the Chaoseater against groups of enemies with bigger ones.

I beat the 2nd and 3rd dungeons (the 3rd dungeon isn't really a dungeon, but a section of the overworld). The combat is much better and enjoyable when you have more weapons and combos to play around with and more health.

I'm in the 4th dungeon but I might take a break and play something else tomorrow since I've played a lot and ordered the strategy guide (which was oddly sold out at Amazon. Maybe that's good for the game's sales) so I want to make use of that.

I'm in the Iron Canopy. I thought that ice spider was Silitha at first. After I beat it I was like holy crap theres an even bigger spider out there still.

How long is this game supposed to last btw?

15 to 20 hours average I think. Depends on if you go find all of the chests, hidden items etc. I'm about 12 hours in and I still have 3 bosses left.

Woot! I killed all the Chosen ones now! :D Time to get after Destroyer's top servants and the big bad himself!

PS. Does anyone know is there any estimate on the sales so far for Darksiders? I really hope the game is doing well on sales. :)

Amazon was out of stock of the strategy guide and now it's backordered for 1-3 weeks. So they either got a really small shipment or it's popular.

I enjoy it, nice little universe they've built and Joe Mads designs are great

Allright i'm stuck, can anyone help?

I'm on 6th dungeon: Dark Throne and i'm on the the room where theres 2 blocks and 3 weights. I need to use the teleporter device to balance the weights so i can get to the top floor... ANy help?

Say waaat? I mean i know i can move the blocks to the different weights, but i can't get 1 of them high enough so i can continue. =*(

A guy named Wogrim has a great YouTube walkthrough up. Its been a lifesaver for me. You should check it out Drz.
