He is my personal pick anyway. I noticed Boreanaz was the choice of another forum member and it just clicked with me. Id never thought of him before. And don't base it off that piss poor script that is tailor written for Jack Black. Do a serious adaption.

I'm not really seeing it, Boreanaz has never impressed me much as an actor.

I don't like it but I'd rather him than Jack Black.

Sorry... No.
Sean Maher should be Hal Jordan.

I tell you, I've seen both Boreanaz and my personal choice, as well as many others for Jordan, Nathan Fillion, in person and I feel more comfortable with Fillion wearing the emerald ring in this case. But, hey, we could always ask Joss Whedon who he'd go with if necessary. My money's still on Cap'n Mal Reynolds. Shiny.

-so sayeth the mastermind-

Borneaz would be a great choice for the rough and rugged tortured soul Hal, but people don't want that guy... they want Shiny infallible utterly fearless Hal and Borneaz hasn't demonstrated the ability to do that on screen. (Not sure what 'in person' counts for when it comes to actors).

I don't know where you got this impression. I'd say if people want Hal they'd want the interesting one.

I think George Clooney would make a great Hal Jordan.

I'd probably say Bruce Campbell if he was 20 years younger.

I personally think that maybe Matt Dillon could pull it off.

Nathan Fillion has been my personal choice for years.

While I don't agree with him being Hal, I think a young Bruce Campbell would be the most perfect Guy Gardner ever.

I loved watching David Boreanaz in Angel and Buffy, and I like him in Bones, and there might be a superhero role out there for him, but not as GL.

I do think Nathan Fillion would make a great GL, however.

I dont see him in the role... I like him as an actor (even if he has been pretty limited so far in his career). His work on BONES is good.

Dark & brooding is the bread & butter of David Boreanaz, he would've suited either Batman or Daredevil, but I don't really see him as any Green Lantern.

Not for more than half an hour or the movie. Most Halohaulics I know aren't big fans of a Hal that doubts himself. The hero has to go on a journey, from druken washout pilot (and some fans don't even like that change from ED), but after that, he needs to shape up and start telling the Guardians how it's done. Borneaz can't do that...

If it were GA/GL with hard travelling heroes and a Hal Jordan who's done it all and doesn't know where to go next... a soul searching guy... DB all the way. But for the Hal that appears presently, literally incapable of doubting himself, Borneaz just hasn't done anything like that on a signifcant level.

Oh, I agree. Fillion would be a great choice for Hal. Not to mention he could totally do the pilot side of him, before getting the ring. I could def see it happening.

:gl: I gotta go with Fillion. Ever since Firfly he's the only one I can see as Hal.
But who would be the villian? Sinestro or Vandel Savage?

Agreed with everything here.

Boreanaz is better at villains IMHO, such as when he was Angellus in Buffy and Angel. In fact, if they were doing a more direct adaptation of Eddie Brock in Spider-Man 3, I could see him as him. I could also see him as Carnage if they ever do him.

So what would you guys think if Hal's father's name were Alan Scott Jordan?

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Boreanaz was interested in playing Dick Tracy if/when another film version of that character would be considered. I'm not sure why he mentioned Dick Tracy specifically, but I did find the idea interesting. This was shortly before news broke of Warren Beatty wanting to do a sequel. Which is something I really have no interest in whatsoever.

Personally, I've always liked the idea of Jim Caviezel as Hal Jordan.
I like Boreanaz alright, but I dont believe he's best suited for this particular type of character.
