David Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method"

Looks great. I'll see anything with Viggo, Fassbender and Cassel, especially a Cronenberg film.

But... did Knightley lose weight for this role? She looks thinner than usual.

Cronenberg + Mortensen + Fassbender.

Conculsion, it's going to be ****ing amazing.

And it's fitting that after all this years, Cronenberg does a movie about Freud.

I'm definitely interested to see this because of the excellent cast involved and the fact that it's a new Cronenberg film.

I was already wanting to see this, that just makes me more impatient. Viggo + Fassbender, great combination. Cassell being back with Cronenberg is a plus, and even Knightley looks good here.

What you meant to say is Knightley once again looks good. But, go ahead, continue to underrate her. :woot:

Knightly is a difficult one for me. I loved her in a few films, I hated her in a few films... I seem to be able to find no middle ground. She's really good with the right director and role though.

where can I download the trailer?

"Sometime you have to do something unforgivable to be able to go on living"

Awesome.

Eh, on the trailer. I don't know if it interests me or not. But Mortenson and Fassbender do. I could be more interested as I go along. This premise isn't the type of thing that woul interest me at first. I'm not as enthusiastic about it at first viewing. I should watch the trailer a few more times.

Although Mortenson looks like a boss as always.

Fassbender must be exhausted from being awesome all the time.

Ok, looks interesting. I actually might see this in theaters(assuming it gets enough distribution that I don't have to hunt for a theater that's showing it).

The pluses -

*Mortenson and Fassbender are awesome actors who can really deliver good performances.
*Kinky sex(hells yeah! :awesome:)
*I usually dig period pieces.
*It's about Freud & Jung which isn't subject matter I have seen exploited yet, so
*Cronenberg mad A History of Violence(which I loved), so there's that.

The minuses -

*Other than AHOV, I've never much cared for any of Cronenbergs other films(granted most I just skipped completely when I saw the trailers/learned the premise).
*Keira Knightly - I just don't get her appeal....AT ALL. I disliked her previous movies that I saw(though I can't be certain I've seen them all).

The pluses out-weigh the minuses here so it's all about availability(or if for some reason it gets scathing reviews...I'm talking GL level or worse).

Kinda hopeful on this one.

Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, The Duchess, and Never Let Me Go. If you don't get Knightley's appeal as an actress after those films, I can't really help you.

Oscars for everyone!

Well there's a reason I never saw any of those: absolutely no appeal. But I sampled her in the Pirates franchise(blech!) and Domino(ugh!) so that's all I'm going off of.

So good film doesn't appeal to you?

I thought she was quite good in Pirates. Her biggest problem is having a wet fish for a love interest. Every time she is on screen with anyone other them Bloom, especially Rush and Depp, she is great. Heck, she even drags a few scenes out of Bloom.

Domino, I think was simply never going to work. Her and the rest of the cast do their best, but the concept, script and direction hurt the film tremendously.

 Thats like someone saying they dont get the appeal of Viggo Mortensen after having only seen Hidalgo and the Psycho remake.

Not those listed in any case. Where is it written that in order to like some movies you must be a connosuier of all movies? I never said I was a film fan or cine'sta(but that doesn't mean I don't know the diference between good movie/bad movie or good acting/bad acting). If a particular film happens to catch my eye with something interesting then I might watch it. Films that don't? I don't care if critics are raving about them. I still will skip them.

I found them both to be fairly flat & uninteresting(I dislike ALL the Pirates movies..even Johnny Depp who I found annoying after the first 5 minutes). Then she tries to go all women's lib(try wearing a corset!) to counter act her blandness elsewhere and it just makes things worse.

I agree with you here. The whole thing was a bad idea.

I liked Hidalgo....mildly. But that's only 2 movies. I've seen at least 4 of Knightly's. How many do you need to see before giving an opinion? It's not like I just saw her once and concluded 'pfft!..she sucks!'. I like to give actors a fair shot. It's not like I said 'She's in this movie?! Hell, I'm not seeing it now.' But her presence in the film inspires no confidence in and of itself to me. Maybe I'll be wrong. We'll just have to wait and see. All I really did was give my first impressions on the trailer.

I think it is unfair to question why people find an actor or actress appealing when you have only seen them in a handful of films.

On a larger, separate note, Knightley gets a lot of unwarranted crap from critics and the general public who seem kin for her to not be recognized for the fine young actress that she is. I don't think she has ever been bad. I have seen her do a lot with very little and more importantly, she has done tremendous with all the real quality roles she has played.

Well then this movie may well be her shot to change my mind.

And also on a side note, I think she gets a lot of crap for being in those 4 crappy movies I mentioned.

For some reason, those crappy movies resonates with people in their views on Keira, despite doing great but indie work as of late.
