David Dobkin to direct Flash

Nice one WB. You just spoiled your own "Empire" plot twist.

Hopefully the JL movie will do well enough that more talent will get throw at this movie. Any word on who is playing The Flash yet?

It many ways, I hope that WB proves us wrong by casting decent if not stellar actors in the movie.

Again, I'm not against Adam Brody as Flash.

Well it´s good to see that things are on track again, but not sure how I feel about the new director.

Im not sure about Dobkin either, however, he's time tens better than Levy.

Even as a comedic director, Levy sucks. At least I liked Wedding Crashers.

Yeah, at least the director is somewhat of an upgrade. But I still can not understand why WB seems hellbent on getting a comedy director to do The Flash. Yes, the character is fun, and lighthearted, but he's not Plastic Man or anything. I don't want the movie to be too comedic. I guess something like the Spidey films would be OK, in that sense. Wich is funny because according to Goyer, that's the kind of tone his Flash would have had. God knows what WB is thinking, though. I wish Reynolds would play Flash!

Well, Dobkin has experience with action. Slapsticky Jackie Chan action, but still.

So we just keep jumping from one crappy director to the next, huh? Well, at least it'll be in continuity with Justice League. Some continuity in DC's properties would be cool.

I don't see how he directed Wedding Crashers, its been admitted in the Commentary that he just let Owen and Vince adlib most of the stuff. Your not a good director if you just let someone dick around infront of a camera.

Sure, but at least this movie is alive again. That is good. I think

Well I never saw those Shangai Knights films. But I will take your word for it.

It's not set in stone yet. We will have to see the reception Flash gets in "Justice League" before we'll know if the project is definite. That's more than a year (and a couple more directors) away.

That's not the Empire twist. The empire twist has to do with the villain behind the scenes in JUSTICE LEAGUE.

^^^

It's probably just Darkseid. I mean what other big super villain could they possibly get to challenge the Invincible Justice League? The Anti-Monitor? Doubtful.

Darkseid seems the most likely. I mean he has an intergalactic army and a legion of minions well known in the DCU. Kalibak, The Furies, those flying monkey dudes. Plus, did you see the final Episode of Justice League Unlimited. This movie practically screams Darkseid.

At this point I'd be more surprised if he wasn't in it.

Yeah, I was rooting for Goyer's flash. It seemed like it was heading for greatness. All his talk about physics made my spine tingle. I could just imagine the Climax of The Flash where Wally West is in over his head facing some evil then out of no where space and time bend to the will of Red and Gold lightning and suddenly appears Uncle Barry to save day! Classic Cool! :woot:

Would Have been AWESOME!

Yes, sadly WB did not get it apparently. :csad:

Hard for me to get completely behind anyone else since I was so behind goyer. He really understood the flash. Plus, using both barry and wally was like the coolest proclamation since that pimp told Christopher Reeve "Say Jim, that's a bad outfit!"

Seriously...Goyer's vision was AWESOME. :woot:

Well, I'm glad they ditched Shawn Levy for someone equally unsuited. Ugh.

With the last attached director and current one being known for comedies some thing tells me this film is gonna be most likely a weak ass comedy with super powers thrown.

Still not happy about this multiverse crap they're pulling. So we'll have the solo Batman and Superman franchises in their own worlds, then a seperate universe for the Justice Leauge with Flash and Green Lantern (maybe) spinning off of that?! Too confusing.

Is it actually confirmed that SR and BB/TDK will be in a "separate continuity?" I figured by the inclusion of Talia they were going to consider it all the same universe, only with different actors playing Batman and Superman, but still in the same continuity.

Dobkin is a big step up from Shawn Levy. If they're going to make The Flash as a light action-adventure with quite a bit of comedy then at least they've now signed someone who can deliver a good film along those lines. Of course whether the project comes to fruition with Dobkin at the helm remains to be seen and is likely contingent on how well Justice League does.

He added that the Flash they will use is "Wally West."

Wally West?

There going with the biggest pusskatore in the Flash's history as the subject of the movie? Ah, Crap!

It's bad enough he's back in the comic. :cmad:

Wally is my favorite Flash, so I'm pleased that he'll be the lead character of the film.
