They are already following in the crappiest way possible. They are doing all the 3D work in post production as a studio driven process instead of a filmmakers. The movie's I've seen converted to 3D were not impressive in the least.

WB's been the worst in this regard. Ever since Avatar hit big, they've taken a bunch of their films and are just tacking on the 3-D in post-production.

Sony has it right with the Spider-Man Reboot. The film is being shot in 3-D and their giving their director plenty of time to get it done and do it right. Same with Tron Legacy. Joseph Kosinski shot the film with Cameron's very own 3-D camera's.

Regarding the M.Night stuff, I used to be a big fan of his after his first few films. Now though I would be a little worried about him directing something this important.
My only concern about this Goyer stuff is that I thought TDK was a vast improvement on BB, which I didn't really like.

you are aware that Clash of Titans and Harry Potter were already filmed right? thats why they are converting it to 3D. and with Spiderman they didnt start yet.......and thats why its filmed with 3D cameras.

Like them or not, Twitter and MySpace are the future too. They're way more popular than 3D

Nah....Myspace has already peaked and so has Tweeker Twitter.

3D technology is just getting started and will be around for quite sometime and the technology will only get better.

TV's are being standardized into 3D.

3D makes watching films, dvd's or TV shows more of an event.

You won't ever catch me spending 14 f**king dollars to see something pop off the screen.

I hate 3D and everything is stands for. I believe that it is a fad but I'm open to the fact that I could be wrong.

It's going to be sad if it isn't a fad because it just means that every blockbuster movie is going to be in 3D and tickets are just going to cost more. I will have to stop seeing blockbuster movies at the theaters then.

Oh....but are you one of those who would rather let everyone and their freakin mother on Tweaker Twitter know that your taking a fat dump and it hurts right?

LOL

i can personaly say...that 3d tv is deff the future and deff not a gimmick, and if uve seen wat ive seen NO ONE will be complaining

Yep!

The next Supes film will most definitely be shot in 3D.

Like it or not.....here it comes.

So I take it its been discussed now that Jonah Nolan has also come on board to write the screenplay?

http://movies.ign.com/articles/107/1071879p1.html

EXCLUSIVE UPDATE: IGN has heard from reliable sources that Tull is downplaying this report. Goyer is in fact on the project, but not only that -- his The Dark Knight co-writer Jonah Nolan will also be scripting Superman: The Man of Steel along with him. Nolan's brother Christopher is expected to only executive-produce, and not direct, the film. That said, he will be "hands-on" as a producer. Since the Superman film is under the gun because of the ongoing legal entanglements involving the property, Warner Bros. wants the pair to get started on their script on the double.

Our sources add that Warners is confident in the early work that Goyer and Jonah Nolan have done so far on Batman 3, and that as a result Superman has now taken on a higher priority status at the studio than it had since Superman Returns was released.

With this and now the recent rumor of Greg Berlanti (formally the GL director) becoming the frontrunner for "The Flash,"

Its seems as if WB is finally getting off their ass and ready to make a stand against Marvel Studios.
:word:

Oh for sure..Not saying this is what they have in mind, but *IF* they ever wanna have a JL film, this would be the perfect setup for it.
I wouldnt want it too cluttered up with cameo's, but something like maybe Bruce Wayne sitting in the batcave watching the battle between brainiac and superman on his computer monitors would give me a heart attack.

Hi Guys,

Im new to this forum, although I have been checking the main site regularly for years, this explosion of activity regarding Superman has promted me to sign up.

Firstly can I say how happy i am that there is finally movement on this project, I had nothing against SR, but this sounds like it could be the on screen version that people have been waiting for.

I grew up on the Byrne comics, so this will hopefully have a certain level of nostalgia for me.

The appointment of Goyer & Nolan (if it's been confirmed?) is a definate plus for the project, Wb are finally teating Superman with the respect he deserves.

To add to the above quote, of WB possibly setting up a Worlds Finest, they could possibly go along the lines of the following:

Post credit sequence - Batcave. Floor to ceiling monitor showing news footage of Supermans fight with Brainiac.

Voice of Alfred of screen: "Isn't it a bit late to be watching TV"?
Camera pans back to reveal Bruce Wayne, attention fixed to the footage.
Bruce: "can't sleep"
Alfred: "this isn't your fight, master Bruce"
Bruce: "I know, just keeping an eye on it"...

This could set up the opportunity for crossovers, leading to a World's Finest film. A JL film should be left until Green Lantern & The Flash are released.

I've mentioned this guy on the Flash thread but another 'rookie' director to consider is Carl Erik Rinsch

think of him as another Neill bloomkamp. he was up to do the alien prequel before it fell through. i also think he's married to Ridley scott's daughter or something like that.

The guy has some serious potential.

Can wait for "The Gift".

welcome aboard!

I probably could see maybe a Bruce Wayne (Bale) having a meeting with Luthor only to be interupted by Superman, floating outside.

Cheers or the welcome.

Whatever route they decide to go down, I'm just glad WB are finally pulling their fingers out and getting a move on! Have had to put up with marvel rubbish (FF4, Elektra) for too long.

Do you think they'll wait to see how the Avengers is recieved befor planning any DC crossovers?

DC and WB is probably rewriting all their scripts now.. including the Justice League script... just to keep it relevant

I was thinking of Neill Bloomkamp to direct. He did a good job on District 9, showed he can handle sci fi, and develop a descent story as well.
More importantly, as it was his first main feature, he was taking direction form Peter Jackson, in the way that whoever directs M.O.S will take direction from Chris Nolan.

Oh....but are you one of those who would rather let everyone and their freakin mother on Tweaker Twitter know that your taking a fat dump and it hurts right?

LOL
Actually I hate Twitter as it's mostly used as a means to prop up attention ****e's egos.

how are more people not excited over jonah nolan coming on board???!!!

that is a surefire power team right there, goyer and jonah nolan. holy crap, this is gonna be great.

^I'm really excited that somebody is going to clean up Goyer's script. I just hope all involved remember that Superman isn't anything like Blade or Batman.

Is this a joke?
Kevin Smith is a big fat fanboy and the rest are comicbook writers, not professional film script writers.
Goyer is way better. Morrison as a consultant is okay, just not as the script writer.
No, it is not a joke at all. And G.Johns did write films or TV series. Mark Millar wrote stuff that have been adapted already (not talking about the quality) and the "big fat fan boy" of K.Smith has done comicbook and movies.
Goyer is not fat but IS definitively a big fan boy. I think in those same terms you used to describe Smith, one could easily describe Goyer as a geeky fan boy always putting garbage-destiny-karma things in his writings. That was the case in all the Blade movie and in batman begins and in most of his comics where he tends to put too much stuff.
So, not Goyer is not far better, IMO, he is far lower. Pretty bad in my opinion, and I think it is just plain stupid tu re-use the guy of a successfull franchise to make the Superman film happen.
I'm pretty sure that whatever happens, everyone will be happy, because we all start to judge this with "it is Nolan-Goyer, it can not be bad". Smart move from the business people of WB.
:(

i would so hope that someone like geoff johns or grant morrison to actively consult and work on the script. this whole batman team thing doing this, while fine, also feels incredibly cheap to me.

i'm sure johns will help out. besides he and goyer are buddies.
