I dont recall m night with indy 4 off hand myself was he offered a script draft"?

so what elements and or stories do you guys want to see goyer use in his script?

Honestly, I don't care. I don't care if they do some major reinvention as long as it's still Superman at heart. I just want it to be fun, I want it to be big, and I want to leave the theater feeling thrilled.

I like the title... better than Superman Unleashed or something like that they were going for prevously...

I remember really wanting M. Night for Superman, and in my hindsight 20/20 retrospect, I'm so glad that didn't happen.

The man is coming back though.

Post The Village I agree that he would have been a risky pick.

But getting his hand in the fantasy/action genre with TLA will defintely serve as his comeback.

M.Night would understand Superman, heck Unbreakable is a testament to that.

We'll see. I think it's a bit early to say that, but I'll reserve my judgement until M. Night Shamalayn's The Last Airbender comes out.

Yeah, I liked Unbreakable, but that was his own idea and from looking at the rest of his films, I think he'd have been more interested in making his own mark on Superman rather then making just a straight up great Superman film. It would be, just like every other movie he makes, M. Night Shyamalan's Superman.

M. Night.....ahahahahahaha idk y thats funny lol M. Night. Jus say it 5 times real fast and tell me u dont laugh

I would much rather see him do Unbreakable 2...he does LOVE Superman though...he has the Kingdom Come statue on his desk...he does like to do more intimate stories around a small group of people...he wouldn't be right for Superman...maybe as a writer he could work well...but we already have our writer.

Well story wise TLA is almost exactly the same to the cartoon. Even to exact replicated shots from the show.

The only difference is the appearance between the LA cast with their animated counterparts.

While its to early to say he will comeback, I think TLA is setting him up for a possible return to form if it as good as I'm predicting it will be.

Shyamalan has demonstrated (based on the trailers/teasers) that he can be reverent yet add a dab of freshness to an existing property. He stroke a balance that not all directors are able to achieve.

Superman would benefit from this. Singer made a gigantic love letter to Donner and Shyamalan wouldn't do that.

But its cool that your reserving your opinion of his possible return to quality moviemaking until TLA hits. :)

Also Unbreakable might be an original story but he said he conceptualized it thinking his hero is like Superman growing up not knowing he is Superman.

He has a great love for the character actually.

Just make sure you don't go around ILM or Zoic studios saying that. You might get jumped. It's certainly not viewed as a "tool" in professional circles.

Exactly!

It's called the evolution of technology being used in film.

Better get used to it fellas, cause it is here to stay.

For those of you that do not wish to see a film that is shot in 3D or formatted into 3D format in post for viewing, then you will have the option to see the film in 2D format more than likely.

If the next Supes film is shot in 3D, I think it would be simply EPIC to see in an IMAX theater.

This is some good news if they're going to follow John Byrne's work but where did the stupid idea come that Mark Millar was writing the screenplay, just because he's written comic books doens't make him a movie writer, he probably would've filled the movie with obsenities.

Twitter is a fad....just like Myspace etc...

Seeing films in 3D and maybe watching TV in 3D is the future.

You won't ever catch me spending 14 f**king dollars to see something pop off the screen.

I hate 3D and everything is stands for. I believe that it is a fad but I'm open to the fact that I could be wrong.

It's going to be sad if it isn't a fad because it just means that every blockbuster movie is going to be in 3D and tickets are just going to cost more. I will have to stop seeing blockbuster movies at the theaters then.

Exactly.

People keep using the term "gimmick" (In marketing language, a gimmick is a quirky feature that distinguishes a product or service without adding any obvious function or value) which doesn't apply to stereoscopic 3D. We'll see about this new 3D conversion technique but its unfair labeling this a gimmick.

Stereoscopic 3D has a function and a great one at that, labeling it a gimmick is just not right.

I think 3D is awesome it makes a movie an "event." Sure it has its problems but 3D is the future gentlemen. Hell the top grossing film of all time was 3D. You don't think everyone else is going to follow? You can bet your last dollar that this next Superman film is going to be in 3D.

The Superman nerd in me has been sleeping for years waiting for news like this. I'm really excited to see things getting pushed further. So far so good lets hope things stay on course

Totally -- all this news is mind-numbing. After Returns, my hopes for seeing another Superman movie was turned to dust because SR was so bad and off-the-mark compared to what Superman fans had been waiting for.

And then with the copyright suit, I thought the WB would sit out on Superman and wait until 2013, settle the copyright issue, and only then push for a new film. Instead, the news seems to imply that Superman is now being pushed full-force by DC/WB, and as the IGN article said, top priority -- even ahead of Batman.

So excited! I really hope MoS is the FUN Superman movie we've all been wanting to see!

i enjoy seeing 3d stuff myself, but i agree not every darn movie needs it.

They are already following in the crappiest way possible. They are doing all the 3D work in post production as a studio driven process instead of a filmmakers. The movie's I've seen converted to 3D were not impressive in the least.

i can personaly say...that 3d tv is deff the future and deff not a gimmick, and if uve seen wat ive seen NO ONE will be complaining
