David O. Russell to Direct Jennifer Lawrence in 'The Ends of the Earth'

That's why I said "potential" and she got on board this project even before she got the buzz for SLP. I'm just saying that I applaud her for picking movies that could potentially go south because of the nature of the material.

I always like seeing actors challenge themselves with non blockbuster roles.

I mean everybody wants cash but go too far and you end up the next Katherine rom-com Heigl or Kate Hudson. Unlike Anne Hathaway they didn't seem to fight to get out of the brain dead rom-com getto. Not trying to diss those women personally but their career's are in the dumps right now. Lucky for them anyone can make a comeback.

Yes, he's too young to play the role but I can't say that I'm surprised that Russell wants Bale for Ernest. I've always had the feeling that Russell wanted to test out their dynamic together when he (mis)cast Jennifer to play his wife in the ABSCAM movie:

Age aside, I can see him in the role. Still think they need to go with someone older. Regardless of who they pick, they would have to either age up or age down the actor anyway since we'll see the character at different points in time.
