DOTP is the saga with the sentinels and stuff, do u think its now ruined because of X3?

i mean we seen a sentinel in the danger room, doesnt the danger room actually have to have the events actually happen for it to be a training mod? then if it does, i think its now ruined since it already happened before X3 and after X2 correct?

make sense?

well the sentinels arent JUST in DOFP. theyre all through the X-MEn books. and BTW, its called Days of Future Past

umm... since nobody in the movie actually mentions it as THIS... one could theorize that they are just using the danger room to simulate a world where sentinels rule...
but...that being said..i wouldn't hold your breath for days of future past being an actual story line

I think DOFP could be a storyline, Zak Penn said(i think) in an interview that is his favorite storyline, and you can utilize Bishop, and Cable, especially Bishop is one of there more popular characters

but ah, no the danger room ruins nothing, for all we know its just another danger room robot, and looks nothing like what an actual sentinal would look like (i would hope, i wasn't all that impressed with it)

Before they even meet a sentinel in real life or otherwise aknowledge knowing about one.
And Days of Future Past wouldn't be made before another 10 or 20 movies, because they've already established this X-men reality and working an alternate one within the same franchise would be completely awkward. It'd be like making a star wars movie set in a lotr-type medieval fantasy setting... weird.

bishop and cable are very useful for a new trilogy

Days of the Future Past seems a bit far-fetched for an X-Men movie . . . good luck explaining it to anyone not familiar with the comic books . . . it has the potential to come off as a Terminator rip-off (especially considering The Terminator was inspired by it).

The Danger Room Sentinel didn't ruin Days of Future Past. I still think it's the best storyline for X4. Most people won't remember that, and I'm sure they'll come up with a bigger, badder Sentinel design.

Why would it seem like a Terminator rip-off? The Sentinel are just big robots. They seem more like Gigantor than anything else. And they'd have to take out the assisination of Senator Kelly, since that already happened in the X-films.

Or just remove the Sentinels, and have mutants in concentration camps and hunted down by mutant hounds. The cost for the Special effects for Sentinels is going to be huge. Futuristic concentration/extermination camps would be relatively cheap.

Days doesn't need to be overly complicated. Involving Cable or Bishop definitely over-complicates it. Dear lord, try explaining who Cable is to someone who's never heard of X-Men! Nathan's one of my favorite characters, but there's no way they can do him justice on the big screen. And they don't need to mess up DoFP with Bishop time traveling rather than Kate, like the animated series did. Bishop has nothing to do with Days of Future Past. It pre-dates him by 140 issues of Uncanny.

They could keep Days of Future Past simple with Kate coming back, possessing her younger self, and trying to stop something from happening.

Instead of the assisination of Kelly, something bigger has to happen that causes humans to fear mutant enough to hunt them down and kill all of them.

In Excalibur 52, Rachel explains that her mom was killed when Mastermind plants a nuclear bomb in Pittsburgh. Although that gets into the whole issue of Earth 811 being the alternate reality where Jean didn't die after Dark Phoenix, I think the concept of the Brotherhood doing something big like nuking a city would be something that could end causing mutants to be rounded up and murdered.

They could potentially combine that with the events of X3 and make the Brotherhood a bunch of very angry mutants who the "cure" has backfired on and are seeking revenge, which could include Mystique and Rogue.

The potential part of the Days of Future Past story is that all superheroes end up sharing the fate of the mutants. The FF and Avengers died along side most of the X-Men, and Franklin Richards is one of the last remaining X-Men. So they could have cameo appearance by other Marvel superheroes in the future. Or, even do the Days of Future Present storyline with Franklin in a Fantastic Four movie. I could see Fox wanting an X-Men cross-over to boost FF's box office numbers.

You're thinking of the TAS version. Bishop was in no way involved in the comic version of Days of Future Past.

OK, DOFP wont work for X4. If they used it for the story and the war started and the x-men could not stop it then it would go on and a little later in the future, Apocalypes would rise. He would try to take over the world but sentanels would stop him. I think they should use the Apocalypes story first after the sinister story then use DOFT for X6. I think the TAS told the story. I would follow something like that but not have Apocalypes involed at all. He was destroyed in X5. Bishop would come to the present to stop the killing of Kelly and he would stop it with help from the x-men. He would return to the future but it would be a normal future. Kids playing on the street, no sentnals, and mutants living normal lives with humans. After Kelly was saved, he became the pres. of the usa and wanted the world to like mutants and to live in peace. (like at the end of X3)

Senator Kelly already died in the first X film, and another assassination attempt is a repeat of X2.

The X franchise so far seems rooted in reality, so introducing someone like Apocalypse takes it really out of that reality. Yes, they have superpowers, but it's relatable situations that people can understand.

So, if you boil down the DOFP story to a few mutant terrorists do something so horrendous that then the government reacts overzealously and imprisons/kills all mutants, it's something that people can understand, even non-fans. It's a compeling story, and you can draw parallels to current and past similiar situations. The Sentinels are just the tools, they aren't the story.

real quick sidenote, who should play the adult kitty pride if DOTFP ever became a X movie?

I don't remember how far in the future it's supposed to be but I recommend Claire Forlani.
