I know is not very likely, but if they could get Michael Keaton to voice Batman, it'd be awesome. :woot:

Other suggestions:

Thomas Jane

Kiefer Sutherland

Interesting. Kind of left field. Combined with elements of A DEATH IN THE FAMILY, this could be a good project.

One wonders how they'll find a way to eliminate the depth in this and make it just an action project.

i wonder how they will introduce Jason Todd as a character. These are to be stand alone films rather than part of any continuity.

As with public enemies they put a little intro as to how luthor became president, whilst in the comics he was already in that position.

Are we going to get a little background into Jason Todd during the film?

Can't wait for this.

Winnick's arc is one of my favs.

If you ask me here's how it should be done:

Ras' al ghul manages to actual trick the world's greatest detective and takes Jason's corpse for himself, trains him as his über soldier (and maybe they can put the: Ras wants his body as his new host thing) but then Jason escapes and becomes Gotham's Red Hood.

Simple. Start it off with Batman replaying the events of his second Robin's death in his mind as the anniversary of the day comes up. Then cut out to a scene of Black Mask and his crime empire, and some scene where the Red Hood shows up to ruin it. Then just play it out like the arc from there.

One hopes. But it seems to me that recent DTV's have been relatively depthless, or at least, have had much of their original depth squeezed out in favor of fight sequences.

Very odd choice to choose out of all the Batman stories especially favorites like The Killing Joke out there(we know it will eventually come out).

It's simple though, Batman sells so out of all the DTV movies we will get Batman will have a lot of them, it' all about sales. I'm a huge Batman fan but I'm also waiting for a Flash DTV.

well all these films are their own universe/continuties and all that.

Awesome! The only thing lacking in this story is Tim Drake.

If you're talking about Batman/Superman... consider the source material. It's a Jeph Loeb story... it's action heavy... I thought they did a great job adapting it.

Now, if they plan to adapt Kingdom Come, or Identity Crisis or something, I'd hope they're smart enough to dial down the action and give us more depth. But its also a matter of attracting buyers.

I hope it's a little longer that the DTVs we've had to date.

If the classic cast doesn't return (which would be a shame, as I'd love to hear Loren Lester come back as Nightwing), let's cast it:

I'd go Jon Hamm for Batman
Tom Waits for The Joker
Bill Nighy as Alfred
Will Friedle would make a nice Nightwing

good grief this is very unexpected!

hope they don't screw it up........and no skimping on the murder!

So they re going to keep churning out comic book adaptations? Why dont they start a tv series on a character that never got one, like Flash or GL?
Or maybe why dont they make these movies part of a bigger overarching plot, continuity or something?

James Tucker is still doing Batman cartoons and Andrea Romano chooses the voice actors. Paul Dini & Bruce Timm pretty much just moved on to comics/movies now.

Or maybe why dont they make these movies part of a bigger overarching plot, continuity or something?

The problem here is that some of these movies will always end up being someones' first. Thats why they have trailer/commercials of their previous animated flicks so the person can check them out and then decide whenever to buy it or not. Making a continuety flick is rather risky.

they are making adaptations of storylines because a hell of a lot of people want them, and have done for years.

Willem Dafoe for Black Mask

Kelsey Grammar for Mister Freeze

Michael Ironside for Death Stroke

And now we know he wont be in any live action Bat flick, Crispin Glover as Mr.J

Its a good story. Should be interesting to see how it gets adapted. Considering the events of Death in the family and Hush play a role on this, Im curious as to how they will approach it.

This new wave of movies seems to be stand alone stories but within comic book continuity, so probably there will be no introduction to Jason Todd but it will be assumed the viewer will be fully aware of who he is.

I must say I am pleased with the increased rate these movies seem to be coming out at.

Well in Superman|Batman: Public Enemies Batman doesn't mention anything about Catwoman when fightning Lady Shiva, and they even made Superman refer to Lois instead of "my wife" heh. =p

I'm going to believe Ras' al ghul takes Jason's corpse and trains him for 5-10 years. I'd actually prefer that and i'm pretty sure they won't show one thing about superman-prime punch. They probably also won't have the piece of dialogue where Jason refers to the Hush events.

Ugh, bringing back Jason Todd was a cheap publicity stunt. There are more worthy stories to be adapted.

awwww, dammit!!!! I wanted to see The Flash finally!! WTF? Why another Batman? garrr....well, he is Timm's favorite character. Which is painfully evident. Bet we get a Public Enemies sequel before we see Flash.

*sighs* Can't wait to check this out tho...
