DC Animated - Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

I'm so glad they got Daly back. He's definetely my favourite Superman.

Xander Berkley's gonna rock as Captain Atom. He's awesome. :woot:

I really wanna know who's doing the voice for Hawkman. :csad:

I'm getting worried about the lack of reference to the Super|Bat families. That part is my favourite and Huntress is my fave character but they are avoiding mention completely :(

Which is total ****ing ******** because i quite honestly think that is the one scene that shows how great these to characters are. because there protege's basically show just what they are made of.

It's a cool scene, but, looking back, it didn't really affect the main Plot. I think there will be only Superman and Batman breaking into White House in Captain Marvel and Hawkman's gears, and a little Superman/Metallo showdown, while Luthor escapes to put his armor on.

the Bat and S families are only involved for like 4-5 pages....they bust into the White House and promptly get captured or knocked out I wish they were in there, but its not a deal breaker

Ok they can take away that but i would certainly like to hear the inner monologues. That would be a nice treat and doesnt require more animation.

here's the first look at Public Enemies

It was a classic story arc and it will be a classic video. It will be the second time we get to see a Superman vs. Captain Marvel fight (and I hope it is another good one - of course we know the outcome of this one). This gets the Dnno1 buy rating.

anybody know the next DC Animated feature after Public Enemies?

They gave a list sometime last year, Kingdom Come was on it.

that's probably on the 'want' list....depends on what WB wants to let them do

With only 75 minutes? That's just not gonna work. :csad:

where is this 75 min limit from? i didn't know there was one.

yeah i wouldn't try it in 75 mins, but would consider pusing it to 120 min.

considering what WB gives them for a budget, 75-77 minutes is as far as they can go for the time being....one of these DTV releases would have to be a huge hit for them to get longer

there were plans to do Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, but thats shelved for right now...Bruce Timm has also wanted to do a JLA/CSA story

I think it could work...if they build it out of the JLU Universe! It can be pulled off in 75 minutes. They have already established that Captain Marvel and Superman are 'not friends' (and he is a near puppet of Lex Luthor)...

that's true. for the most part they all have been around that time. I didn't realize it.

I guess, it could still work in the 77 min but a lot of it would have to be left out (which is ok, there is a good share of "extra material" in the book.) but if they do, it wouldn't be out of the JLU universe. these movies are meant to be stand alone films. superman was different, and so are supes/bats public enemies have no relation with the DCAU.

it would be very cool if they made it look like ross' work, similar to what they are doing with the PE art.

I would love to see Ross' style brought to animation but I feel strongly that it should evolve from the DCAU. That is such an established universe where many characters have already been fleshed out. It would be great to know where they could possibly end up.

Although these DC animated films are separate entities, that doesn't mean that one of their film projects can't be spawned from the DCAU. At one point (and they still might be doing it) they talked about releasing Justice League: World's Collide, a story that involved the JLA going up against the Crime Syndicate of America! I would really like to see that!

i don't to be honest. I kinda like the idea that the films are completely independent from that universe. it forces the filmmakers to flesh out the characters. for instance, superman: doomsday, they didn't do an origin story, but they did a good job introducing the character, whereas it would have been easier to just base the film of the DCAU.

I absolutely agree with this. I don't think the DCAU is over. but its important to separate. either make it like superman: brainiac attack where it is from that universe, or superman: doomsday, where it is completely different.

the reason why i don't think KC should come from that world (or is even necessary for that matter) is because the book itself is very independent. it is not part of canon, it is its own entity similar to new frontier. I kinda like that idea, and would like it if KC was it's own thing. also, evolving from that universe means you will alienate many who haven't or didn't really watch the show.

but this is just my opinion.
