DC getting more diverse

OK, so by saying Thor is Scandanavian and Wolverine is Canadian and Superman is Kryptonian is supposed to meld the race barrier? Not really, as they are all WHITE, or in Superman's case, LOOKS white...

Something I was trying not to say.

In both Marvel and DC the majority of aliens, Gods brought to life, and heroes of uneartly origins are "White-Looking" or have white features under blue or green skin.

But I didn't want to be accused of racist tendancies for pointing that out.

None of that is inherent to communism. Just the country your family is from. Communism is a philosophy and social/political school of thought. It has nothing to do with the people in charge of countries that have a primairily communist philosophy. Hell, most communist leaders merely used communism as a way to get power and get chicks. Few actually cared about making it work.

Well the difference is, this hero works for the Chinese government, which in my opinion does plenty of immoral things. See, the thing is, I think communism has a potential to work, but the likelyness of it happening is slim.

Oh, I get the difference. However you were condemning communism as a whole, stating to be immoral. It's not. Heck, on paper it's a pretty good system, and if we'd actually have policians that wouldn't be so easily corrupted it COULD work in practice too. The things you ascribed to communism (which is in the post I quoted) however have absolutely nothing to do with communism. That's the specific's rulers raping of the communist ideal and playing the political system to his ends. That stuff could work in a capitalist society as well.

In Thor's case it makes sense since he's an Aryan god, but I agree for others. I always found it odd that all Kryptonians look like white people, for example. At least the Kree have blue and pink races, the Eternals have the Deviants, and the Skrulls can appear however they want.

If form follows function,.. only the kryptonians from the northern hemisphere survived kryptons destruction,.. that even though Kandor was Astropolitan in it makeup,... there are no kryptonians from colder or warmer climates mixed in with the Aliens.
That raised under a hot red star,.. Kryptonians w/o the explanation of the science of Superman would be darker than Austrailian Bushmen in High Summer.

I think its odd that people say that the diversity is being cramed down there throat. When you look outside you see diversity everywhere, real life is diverse so does that mean diversity is being crammed down your throat everywhere? I just think people should open there minds good things can come of it. By the way The Great Ten designs looks awesome!

The only people who think diversity is being "crammed down their throat" are racists who are offended by change. Changing the race or sexuality of a character is not the same as forcing someone to accept that race or sexuality. And if you need to forced to accept people of a different race, religion, or sexuality, you have bigger problems than worrying about who the new Blue Beetle is.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, I should bring up that Superman was orginially representative of a jewish person. He has since been drastically aglecized, but that was to be expected back then.

The sci fi reason is the solar powered factor. Large amounts of melanin would interfere with solar absobtion cells in the skin. Thus, Kryptonains should be rather fair skinned. Well, technically, they should be albino. But I guess that would make it hard for Clark to blend in.

Well the science of Superman covered that pretty clearly,.. the fact that the original purpose of the field he puts out was for protection from the sun and the high background radiation of Krypton. Under a Yellow star that field is amped to well past Nuke blast level.

To be serious for a second,.. I'm well aware that "diversity" was not a concern back when Superman was first written.

I'm glad that at the least,.. comics are giving more than a nod now.
