DC has their Big Three, who are Marvel's Big THree?

The Question said:
Something I think would work for MAX would be to have books centering around Marvel villains. Like, a series about Loki or Dr. Doom under the MAX imprint.

Not bad at all.

Spiderman
The Fantastic Four
and
The X-men

As far as importance in the Marvel Universe goes (probably as far as importance in sales as well)
These are the big three.
Even though they're two teams and an individual instead of three individuals.

I'd love to see a Loki MAX tale from back in the day, before the gods were toned down to fit in with the morals of the present.

Did you read that Loki mini that came out a few years ago? Beautiful painted art by Esad Ribic (?). Incredible story.
Final page is ****ing awesome, too :D:up:

So I still stay Spider-Man is one. While the others seem to be Fantrastic Four and X-Men. But those are teams.

So are you guys saying Avengers, Fantastic Four, & X-Men are Marvel's Big Three?

Lets just call that a bump and not a repliy

maybe wolverine, captain america, spider-man for solo. most popular mutant, icon and everybody's fave hero

I'd say hulk has to be in there, the tv series alone has placed him a lot higher in the public conscience than most other heroes.

^ i dont think his comic sells enough to be honest. maybe im wrong, but x-books and spidey books are usually top, and that has to get into account. Plus yknow cap's book is not only supposed to be amazing (and from what i've read its v v v good, at marvel.com -- check it out!) but he's a living legend. so to speak

Oh yeah you're right if your going on comic sales, I'm just thinking over the course of marvels existance (i mean just look at the money universal spent on the hulk movie).

But if its just from a comic persepective then yeah I wouldn't put him in.

Marvel doesn't have the "Big 3" but they do have the Illuminati or better yet had the Illuminati.

Hmmm, i dunno, i thought the hulk movie sucked worse than Fantastic Four. lol. Is Wonder Woman still one of DC's top selling books? Just wondering as i'd be surprised..

Not really. It usually sells...enough...but not nearly as much as you'd expect of a DC icon. That might change now that Heinberg is onboard, but unfortunately I tend to doubt it...the vast majority of comic book buyers just don't give her any chances.

bit of a dated idea for a character. the lasso of truth or whatever it is. cmon...

Tho i heard they got some guy to admit the only way of stopping him was killing him. Then she did. thats kinda cool. course the consequences werent too great. i hate DCs no killing policy. there should be a hardcore Batman book where he kills. thatd b wicked. i'd buy that!

The Big 3
Spider-Man
Hulk
Wolverine

Useto be cap america, but I think wolverine has taken his spot

Sales: Anything with Spidey, Logan or, um, I don't know.

Asskickery: Thor, Iron Man and Captain America. Oh, wait, maybe the Hulk should go in there somewhere... Oh hell. I don't know.
Bye.

When it comes to super heroes evrybody, fans and non fans alike, know 4 heroes without question. They are spider man, super man,bat man and Hulk.So spidey and Hulk are there.

Hulk probably is more popular thanks to the old TV show. The fans of that show are steadily dying off, though. I think Wolverine'll take over Hulk's spot after they're all gone.

I gotta tell ya, I clearly prefer DC's heroes to Marvels. The no-killing policy, the way they actually hold to their moral codes and values, it just makes them so much more real for me than the Marvel heroes. I mean Captain America, he's pretty cool, but otherwise, kinda hurting in the hero department.
Plus, DC's costumes, I just like them so much better, so much more visually interesting.
And lastly, the writing. When I go into the comic-book store, people aren't talking about the newest issue of Fantastic Four, or what X-men villain has bothered to reform this week, they are all talking about one thing, the crisis. Whether it be 52, the impact it has had in the other books, or simply the story itself, DC has a stranglehold on the convos in my comic book stores in Georgia and in S.C.

All that being said,
Marvels big three, in continuity
Captain America
Iron Man
Mr Fantastic

for the same level of respect and authority that the trinity carry over at DC

In sales, or character popularity,
I'd say X-men, Spider-man, Wolverine (although for the life of me I dont understand why a short, hairy canadian psycopath is interesting...)
