DC November Solicitations

I hope that Batman issue isn't exactly how the solicitation makes it sound, in the sense that
Alfred dies. This could be one of Morrison's big things to come of R.I.P.

I'm thinking that Alfred is the nararator and he's talking from a time in the future...I hope

Still not reading Trinity.

Still not reading Final Crisis (although the Bat cover is excellent).

In fact, I won't be reading any of this except for all of the JSA stuff, for which I'm stoked.

kingdom come crap gets a thumbs down from me. Not that I buy Justice Society anyway. I'm not that impressed with any of the batman covers either

These are ridiculous. These solicts didnt raise a single eyebrow at DC?

Holy crap nuggets, the Tomorrow Woman's coming back in Trinity?

"Superman vs. Darkseid" worries me in Final Crisis. It'd be pretty awful for Morrison to build Darkseid up as this all-powerful badass only to have him job to Superman again. That's what ruined Darkseid post-CoIE. And now a "Dark Monitor"? Really? Couldn't we just, like, forget any Monitors other than the original ever existed? Pretty please?

Revelations sounds cool, but what the f***'s a "Justifier"?

Who do they make these Terra and Raven and Cyborg mini-series for? Honestly? Does anyone read these things? Everyone knows the Teen Titans are irredeemably nerfed until a decent writer restores them to some semblance of what they're supposed to be.

Alfred's final hours, huh? I'm almost glad I don't care about Batman anymore.

I will be picking up JLA for the first time in a while for those Milestone crossovers. I always liked Icon. I just hope they're not brought over as villains. Either way, there's probably no one you can trust more with the Milestone characters than McDuffie.

Updated with full solicits, and yet more spoilers than before. Especially in the Birds of Prey, Nightwing, GA/BC solicits.

That Batman solicit sounds like it's going to be a slight red herring and end up being set in the future like 666 was. I don't see them killing off Alfred in present time even if Bruce sets down from the cowl.

Looks like DC is going JSA crazy for November.

Well that Sandman mini sounds interesting, but I never knew there was an actual novella written by Gaiman set in the Sandman series. Makes me wonder if I should get this mini or just go out and get the book itself.

Young Liars is turning out to be quite a book, but it looks to diving into a totally different direction then when it started and it looks like MADAME XANADU is a wagon I may end up jumping on.

Its been around for ages that Darkseid is not the big bad of Final Crisis. As for the moniters that was foreshadowed in FC#1. Its a crisis therefore there has to be multiversial shenanagans and the moniters are the most obvious expression of a multiverse in turmoil.

I believe a justifier is what The Human Flame became, a group of them blew up Shilo Normans plane in FC#3.

As for the Teen Titans Minis, I don't read them. I would have read the raven one if the art were any good. This new Terra was introduced in Supergirl #12 in 2006, since then shes been in a few issues of teen titans but that mini has been in production ever since 2006. The Supergirl story had the image of Terra from the solicited cover in the corner of its cover and was meant to build up hype for the character. What took so long? Just shove her in the titans or JSA and be done with it. As a character she doesn't seem rebellious enough to be a titan anymore plus we know the titans will be getting new members anyway like Static.

Alfred's final hours, huh? I'm almost glad I don't care about Batman anymore.

In the solicit for the second issue, it states that it's the final hours of "Sir Alfred Pennyworth". So it seems like another future story.

Who bets secret six won't last a year.
It's to awesome for DC to keep that long.

I'm psyched about the RIP thing. That character stopped being essential to the story a long time ago.

Did they just spoil the Secret Six Batman villain, or was that old news?

Also, I'm glad to see Howard Porter back to penciling, even if it is on Titans.

And I absolutely love Phil Noto. I'll definitely be picking up his mini.

No, he certainly isn't.

Rags on Superman/Batman? I didn't think the book could get any better.

Simone has commented that it was Bane in the past, though I don't know how widely known that was.

Oh, not I didn't know that. I knew she had said there was a 'big Batman villian' joining the team soon but never even specifics outside that.

I'm almost certain that she never said it was Bane..

Hmm... there are so many spoilers in that it's bizarre.

I'm hyped for RIP and beyond even more so now.

Connor's back, but Winick's still writing. Oh, the dilemma. :(

Hey, look, we get to learn what happened to the Amazons. It only took us, what, a f***ing year? I don't even care about the stupid Amazons at this point. Great timing, DC. Also, "Manazon" sounds really goofy, but I'm sure Simone'll make it work.

Is it me, or does Legion tryouts seem kind of odd in the context of Waid's setup of the Legion as a massive youth movement? I guess they would still need tryouts to get people onto the active superhero team, but it seems a bit awkward.

It's great that the Wildcats are back on a regular schedule, but does anyone else feel like Maul's new look is a bit too Hulkish? I mean, yeah, he was always a blatant ripoff of the character to some extent, but now he really, really looks it. Oh well, still looking forward to it. I don't know if Woods is just filling in for Googe or what, but they're both great artists so I'll be happy either way. I would've preferred Googe, but Woods is good too. Looking forward to Spartan getting the spotlight. I asked Gage on Newsarama whether the World's End Spartan was still Hadrian and he was cryptic. I hope it is, but we'll see.

I wasn't planning to pick up The Ferryman, but I heard Andreyko talk about its concept on The Stack and I'm actually kind of intrigued now. I'll give it a shot.

You know, I've always avoided video game-based comics because I thought they were tacky, but Mirror's Edge has a cool enough concept that I may actually pick up the comic tie-in. I'll give it a look at the shop, at the very least.

Yay, P. Craig Russell on Sandman stuff! Amano's art was great on the original book, but I'm really looking forward to Russell's adaptation. He's one of my favorite artists.

Heh, Jack of Fables continues to be hilarious in both its issues and its solicitations. I love Matthew Sturges. :) Bolland's covers are pretty great, too.

Northlanders' next arc sounds like a Norse take on Lone Wolf and Cub. I was worried about what would come next since "Sven, the Returned" was so amazing, but Wood looks like he'll continue making each short tale uniquely interesting. Can't wait.

As if House of Mystery weren't already good enough, David Petersen will be contributing art to the November issue's in-story story. Awesome.

Woo, Endless appearance in Madame Xanadu! I'm glad the Endless finally seem to be coming off their shelf and getting new life in various series. They were marginalized for far too long.

Inevitability vs. free will in Scalped. Sounds as great as everything Aaron's done with the book so far.

I'm almost certain that she never said it was Bane..

Well, I have never heard of that either. I remember seeing something, perhaps on the second issue, with a silhouetto of the villian in question and it looked a lot like Bane, though, so maybe it wasn't suppose to be all that big a surprise. Only comment I really remember her making about the series was the promise of a naked Catwoman...or maybe that was a naked Catman.

I just now noticed that Legion Of The Three World isn't in the solicits this month.

Walt Flanagan is doin the art for the Kevin Smith Batman mini. Sweet.

Tell 'em Steve Dave! :D

It's only 3 issues, so it should end in October.

Your avatar rules, by the way. If it were Kim I'd be in love with you. I'm not trying to be creepy or anything, I'm just stating a fact.
