DC May '09 Solicitations

Looking over their solicits, one can really see why Marvel is selling more books than DC.

Yeah, I'm not really interested in any of the solicits in the preview. I'll be getting Flash: Rebirth, but my hopes are not high for it.

Indeed, Flash: Rebirth is something I have to read, good or bad, but all those Final Crisis Aftermath minis aren't interesting in the least.

Oh, come now, how is Final Crisis Aftermath: Dance silly in the least....

Dan DiDio's fascination with the Silver Age is becoming DC's undoing.

Geoff, Mark, and a lot of creative element working at DC right now are too busy indulging themselves. Myself, I thought DC was doing well after the original Crisis On Infinite Earths. Continuity was, for the most part, straightened out. We were able to get a clear line of events within the DCU. The Multi-verse was gone and everything was sorted out to work on One Earth. It all made sense. Now it's a convoluted mess again.

The Unwritten doesn't sound that bad.
It sounds like another Timothy Hunter mini-series, only it's not Timothy Hunter. I may give that one a try, but that's still Vertigo, not DC proper. I don't seem to be excited for anything from the mainstream DC universe.

I like the new dc modern silver age but I may be the only one but I aggree with mess ofconunity but that only thing. Grant made every story in the batman universe conunity so that does not count with alot of secrets.

I like the one users comment, oh look the Justice League knocked out again. That really is getting annoying.

I'll get Flash Rebirth and I may pick up the Final Crisis Aftermath: Ink. I don't know the guy (as I'm new to DC) but I liked him in FC, so I'll give it a shot. I might get the one with the Human Flame as well.

Yeah, I'm only reading Booster Gold and JSA otherwise.

I'm gonna get Flash: Rebirth and Booster Gold. JSA's a maybe at this point. I came back to it after the Kingdom Come snore-fest because Black Adam was returning, but the first issue was just sort of okay. I'm not a huge fan of Ordway's art, either, and I don't recall ever reading anything written by him that I liked, so the fact that he's taking over JSA completely by May is sort of disconcerting.

So far in the preview I only like Rebirth and even that is just something you seem to need to read to get what will be happening in the flash books.

Yeah, Rebirth is sort of a given must-read, even if you don't like the fact that Barry's coming back. I'll be reading it mostly to see what happens to Wally, Jay, Bart, and the Speed Force.

Animal Man mini maybe interesting - I quite like future stories for the freedom it brings.

I bet he doesn't reference Sub Diego though :(

Wasn't that mentioned in the solicit?

I will be picking up Flash: Rebirth, The Nobody, The Warlord, Tales of The Sinestro Corps, and possibly Absolute Death HC.

Still buying Unknown Soldier, Superman and Supergirl.

Looking forward to seeing Kaluta on Madame Xanadu.

Batman Confidential sounds good. That's some awesome cover art. Solomon Grundy also looks pretty cool.

Post-Crisis continuity was a total mess. The post-Final Crisis Multiverse doesn't satisfy purist fans because of how half-hearted it is, and upsets Post-Crisis fans because it screws up their Earth as well. What they did was piss EVERYONE off.

So two members of the Secret Six are interested in Batman's mantle? Catman and Bane, perhaps?
