DC is the most guilty of pandering to the older fans. Bringing back Hal Jordan and Barry Allen for example. Especially Barry Allen. Who, apart from 40 year olds, gives a **** about Barry Allen? Seriously?

I'll drink to that. I ****ing tried with the new Flash book but it just didn't have enough to keep me hooked. I actually like Flashpoint but none of the reasons I do have to do with Barry at all. Johns has utterly failed to make an event centered around elevating Barry's status and street cred.

I wont be buying Birds of Prey if Simone isnt writing it as she's the reason i buy it. She writes the characters and stories I like

At the moment the only dc comic book i have any interest in buying is Batwoman as that is the only series and the only character I care about

Who knows, maybe the new writer will be just as good or even better. Lets wait and see.

I have no interest at all in any of these other series. Won't be buying Nightwing and definitely won't be buying Batgirl if its Barbara Gordon in the costume

I hope Nightwing isnt a bat book, but a Superman book, with Chris Kent in the cowl (you know, the Kryptonian superhero from whom Dick took his name originally). But i highly doubt that. If they re going for younger heroes, i doubt they'd give Superman a son when they didnt do that even when he was married.

And every rumour i have heard about the Superman reboot makes me

I do find that weird, I read Booster Gold but I have so little interest in Flashpoint and I know very few people who are really interested in it (I don't know anyone IRL who is picking it up).

It's almost like the reboot announcement has been geared to try and gather some interest in Flashpoint itself because before it the event was in a big way going under the radar. Seems odd to spin off your entire line from something that didn't really grasp your readers imagination.

I dont know how the reboot will go, but Flashpoint is awesome. I'd love it if they moved it to a different earth after the reboot and kept publishing its stories. I dunno, i love the WW3 setting with half of Europe destroyed, i love Thomas Batman, and i love how Cyborg is desperately trying to stop them. Its... epic in scale!

ok the point being is DC printing more crap than gold...is it by a large margin or a little margin....out of the 30+ books they publish 7 are good....is that a good business plan???
Could Mcdonalds survive if people only ate mcnuggets and fries????

I wouldn't exactly call McDonald's menu a high mark of quality. So if we're just looking at them apparently a business can make mostly crap and be super successful.

the quality of the food is irrelevant...if McHealthy's had a menu of 30+ items and the only thing people bought and ate were the McToufu burger and the McApple would they survive?

Interesting. I haven't gotten to read it yet. I get my comics shipped because the only store where I live is awful at getting more than two copies (probably cause its an entertainment store and not exclusively a comic shop).

I can't understand why DC/Warner Bros would do a stunt like this? To me this seems like a short term boost in sales. What happens in a year? Do we see the DCU back the way it was before Flashpoint?
Maybe instead of rebooting/tweaking the entire universe, streamline the amount of books that are being released. Then add 10 or so #1 issues that are part of continuity but are self contained books. Not every book out there has to be a giant crossover and rely on 70+ years of continuity. This way you can sell a book that represents the "core" versions of their characters.
I also don't understand why they would turn back the clock on the age of their heroes. Does it matter if they are 25 or 35? Growing up I never thought once that Superman was "too old" to relate to. He was that guy I looked up to to save the day.

- He breaks into the cave expecting to find Bruce.
- Manor is abandoned, cave is empty, besides a table with equipment, a glass case with a pistol, a pic of the Wayne family and a few other things.
- Batman beats Barry up for breaking in.
- Barry calls him Bruce. Realizes that its Thomas and Bruce died.
- "I am from a different reality and there i'm the fastest man alive."
- "You called me Bruce."
- "Yeah Bruce is alive there. You died. I have to get things straight. But first i need my powers."
- "So you want to douse yourself with chemicals and take a lightning bolt in hopes that you can get your powers back and fix things? Sure, if that means Bruce will be alive again."

Yeah but they dont need to reboot everything, they just need to write better stuff. Get Daniel and Finch and other hacks like them away and get good writers like Snyder. But hey, Batman and TDK are crap but they re selling like hot bread so they re staying.

Oh i heard about that. Well if they re breaking up his marriage anyway, i'd rather we dont go back to the trite story of him trying to get Lois. Lets do something different this time but i do hope he ends up with Lois, just from a different road.

I'd rather they didnt break up the marriage and gave them Chris to raise, but eh... young Clark might be cool.

Perhaps. Its not something I've complained about much, I do think its bad for retailers and if we had a real comic store I'd buy everything there in a heart beat. That said I'm a collector so for right now I'm getting them shipped though once everything is same day I may be enticed to download titles I'm not as anal about having every physical issue of or want to try out. How much are new digital comics? I've actually not paid much attention to that side of things cause I don't have an Ipad or anything at the moment and don't know that I'd enjoy them on a computer screen.

- Batman: Gates of Gotham
- Flashpoint
- Batgirl
- Supergirl
- TDK (I'm just giving it a chance. I'll probably be dropping it soon)
- Catching up on Green Lantern. I havent even reached Blackest Night yet.
- Catching up on Brubaker's Captain America.
- Fear Itself.

At some point i want to read:
- John's Booster Gold
- Secret Six
- Batwoman
- New Avengers (or Secret or however they're called)
